Roommates have a falling out

The lighter haired woman is trying to concentrate on a financial task, while the darker haired roommate is enjoying a cup of coffee and listening to music.  The problem arises when the lighter haired woman is having trouble concentrating, and asks the darker haired woman to put on a headset.  She refuses, and it escalates until they end up facing each other, cursing and screaming.

The darker haired woman appears to be the overwhelming favorite so far ....  I wonder why?

Looks to me like a simple woman vs woman pairing. Both beautiful.  I will though lean to the gorgeous lady on the left. 

My over simplfied version she seems more grounded looking and had to live life a bit more and probably has had to fight for what she stands for, believes and what she has gotten/accomplished a bit more.
