Two women square up to fight fair and square. Which factors determine who comes up on top?
I think intelligence, determination, and confidence are the greatest determinants, as long as there is no huge size/strength imbalance.

All important plus luck / ability / toughness / attitude / aggressiveness /  fear /

In order from most important to least:

1. Skill: Skilled fighter will almost always be able to defeat an untrained fighter, or whoever has the most skill/experience.
2. Fitness and conditioning. Fighting can be exhausting, and someone who is in great cardio shape will be able to take out their opponent when they are exhausted. Being tired not only saps your strength, but affects your reflexes and decision making. I am admittedly not the most skilled fighter, but I am very fit and have a lot of endurance, and when my opponent is gassed out, I can go for heavy strikes to his body and head, take him down and go for the submission or KO.
3. Strength and size. Between two equally skilled and fit combatants, the stronger has an advantage.
4. And finally, the more determined fighter with the higher pain tolerance, when everything else is equal, is most likely to come out on top.

Totally agree with Vegas, if there equally matched in size and skill it will come down to who can take more punishment and keep fighting women's fights are brutal if you were ever lucky enough to see 2 women who know how and actually want to fight each other you know what I mean. Some women actually like to fight and are very good at it especially if both women want to fight each other.

Assuming the opponents are of comparable size, weight, and experience the major factor is aggressiveness...

Love Fem Wrestling

Skills, athletic ability, attitude/determination, stamina, and ability to withstand uncomfortable or painful holds.

The only place where this formula works is in a city in California called "Hollywood."

It doesn't seem to work at all in any other location, and it only works in Hollywood when the cameras are rolling...

Size and Strength are huge factors followed by stamina and skill. Determination is helpful but being an Astrophysicist or a Software Developer is NOT going to help you win a fight....

I completely agree. If one woman is far more aggressive she's more likely to win. She has to have some skill and experience but the irl who is. Willing to fight hardest and inflict damage and pain - she'll win
As mentioned I am a fan of female fighting with my main interest being catfights!  Real, competitive, arranged catfighting has been a lot of fun! Hope to meet like-minded folks!
