It's a shame we can't create polls in this section of FCF because I'd really like to run one on this subject. I'm personally not a fan of tattooed women. I have no objection to the odd discrete little tattoo, a butterfly on a buttock or a heart on the inner thigh for example, but women with sleeve tats and elaborate artwork on their bodies and legs leave me cold. You'll never find a description of a tattooed character in my stories, but tat's just me - I'm interested to know what you think about them. Do you love painted ladies or, like me, prefer a blank canvas?

I personally don't like any tattoos except ,as you say, a small discreet one. I feel it hids and distracts from a woman's beauty. The ink all over to me looks absolutely horrible and ridiculous. Even on men, come on, WTF are you trying to prove.

Thank you both for your replies. The reason I'm asking this question is that one of my up coming stories will make reference to (small, discrete) tattoos on one of my regular characters. I was interested to see how people felt about that.

My wife and I both absolutely hate them but why would anyone care about the opinion of someone they don't know?

Bitz

No.  A few okay, but those sleeved up, neck covered etc end up looking like men

Like someone else said, it depends. Some honestly wear tattoos better than others, and placement is key along with how that fighter is portrayed.

This might be going against the grain of what is popular here, but I think tattoos can work if you have a fighter who is meant to be extremely rough and intimidating (like a powerhouse muscular woman.) If they have a lot of tattoos, that might mean they have a very high pain tolerance and can take a lot of punishment without going down and giving up.

It's almost always a no for me, but then I'll see someone whose choice (a few or a lot) just seems to work for them. I think the issue is there are a lot of bad tattoos out there and a lot of people who get tattoos that don't fit them.

Tattoos  are nice to each there own. But lady's  with alot of them they  are cool but once you get older and you will. They will not be so good unless you keep up with them.

I prefer no tattoos, but small ones are ok. The less the ink, the better.

I have daughters, and good friends of mine also have daughters.  Mine have several small tattoos.  My friend's daughter has Full arm and shoulder tattoos (I think they are called sleeves?).all of the women are under 35 y/o.

Maybe tattoo tech has improved.  When I was younger (under 10 y/o) , there were several dads in the neighborhood who had tattoos either from WWII, or before.  In every case, the tattoo was unrecognizable, and unreadable. Just large ink spots.

I told my daughters repeatedly. Think about any image carefully.  That Tweety Bird on your hip may look cool now. But in 30 or so years what are you going to say when your grandchild asks you, "Grandma, why do you have an angry lemon on your rear end?"

If you want it, do it conservatively, in a spot not too easy to see, because it isn't going to last like the Mona Lisa.
