Encouragement from friends

In a lot of YouTube videos of real, arranged catfights, the girlfriends of the fighters seem to play an important role.  Friends will often help a fighter put her hair up, hold her jewelry or phone, hug her before the fight, even try to cover her ass or boob if it's exposed during the fight .  Is this kind of support helpful?  Are women more likely to fight if they have the support and encouragement of close female friends?

Generally when there are spectators at my matches, they are pretty sedate and not too vocal..especially my husband. We consider it bad form if he offers anything more than generic encouragement. If other spectators are present they usually take their clue from the spouses, although, on occasion, they can get vocally into the match. It's ironic that often if they offer specific advice such as, 'grab her head' or "watch out for her legs" it also alerts the opponent that such an action might be occurring. But general encouragement such as "you got her" or "good hold" is welcome...

As a straight catfight fan, I absolutely love when the spectators (friends, family, etc,... whoever is there watching) yell out "Rip her shirt off", "Pop those buttons off", "Get it off", etc,...

Another insightful comment from Txblonde above. As someone who has never had a partner that competed, but has seen hundreds of matches at live events, where there are always many spectators, I have always made a clear distinction between advice and encouragement. To me the former is unacceptable, but the latter is fine. The match needs to be decided by the participants, not by who gets the best advice. It is interesting to note that many video producers would not allow partners to attend matches so s to prevent advice, or worse still, interference.
