Why Women should Wrestle!
« on: August 22, 2025, 01:30:15 AM »
The following is part of an AI answer to the question ‘Do ordinary women wrestle’.    I thought it might help those gents who ask about arranging private matches between ladies. The money saved on gym membership is a huge incentive, they only need a floor.   Endless boring hours on fitness machine replaced by the thrill of competition.   Just tell them it’s the latest fitness fad in some far off land.

Yes, "ordinary" women can and do participate in wrestling as a substitute for or supplement to traditional gym workouts, as it offers an intense, full-body workout that improves strength, agility, and cardiovascular endurance. While not a traditional gym routine, a wrestling session provides a comprehensive physical and mental challenge, building character and providing a fun, high-intensity alternative to cardio and weight training.

Benefits of Wrestling for Women
Full-Body Workout:
Wrestling engages numerous muscle groups, including the neck, shoulders, core, and legs, leading to balanced muscle development and a well-rounded physique, without building bulky muscles.

There are multiple different interpretations and/or understandings of the term "wrestle".
Could one be agreed as two women rolling around on the ground, clamped tightly together, each trying to get on top of the other to establish dominance over her opponent?
If AI was to accept that definition then the next thing I'd ask is for a case to be made for some competitive hairpulling. That may be a bridge too far though.

Sadly, women wrestling is looked at as taboo in the USA. If your daughter wrestles in high school, its ok talk about, but if you just start trying to talk to someone about women's wrestling, you are a ''weirdo''!! Odd women can enjoy watching men wrestle and its fine, Double standards at their best!!

Are you sure?  Because it isn't the case with pro wrestling so much anymore.  While WWE Diva matches used to be seen as a time for a beer break 10-15 years ago, the women now such as Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair etc are getting put in main events, crowds are giving them full pop at events.  Same is happening in AEW.  You are starting to see almost as many women's matches a night during NXT as you are men.  there are multiple belts for the women now in the various organizations.   Where yeah back in the day, you'd get a women's match thrown in mid show for beer break that would last three minutes.  Now they are sometimes the main event, fans are really into it etc.     Even WOW the all women's fed. They tried it in 2000, it failed after one season.   WOW returned a few years back and is going strong and they have been doing shows at least  seven-eight years straight now.

Agree with lovely "Sinful Senorita Carmen". WWE has a women's only royal rumble and/or battle royal nowadays, too I believe.

My wife and I watched a news report on the local news years ago talking about girls wrestling teams in High School and college.  Basically they were saying it was the best form of exercise there was.  Perfect muscle against muscle workouts.  The line I'll never forget was if it weren't for the social stigma there would be a women's wrestling gym on every corner.  And I could tell my wife was thinking about it... Oh what could have been!!!

Quite right Lumberjack!    The comment was made for ordinary women wrestling in privare, as an alternative form of excessive. Competitive tussles, not scripted matches for ‘entertainment’.      Hopefully somewhere in suburbia, are housewives holding coffee mornings as a pecursor to excessive sessions.

In the 1970s, especially in big cities, when there was lots of street crime, over half of women knew at least basic self-defense.  Like karate or judo.

Point that I was trying to make was that since it is more mainstream and less taboo, more women will take interest in it.  Girls growing up seeing the pros as role models, or just a general interest might bring a rise in more girls wrestling in sorority parties in college, a couple suburban house wives that might like watching WWE/AEW with their husbands and kids on TV, may have some wrestling sessions with their suburban housewife friends.
