Should I start a video channel?
« on: July 19, 2018, 09:31:29 PM »
Hey there. As I like playing around on 2K's WWE Game making my own Charakter in there, I was thinking about filming the fights and set them up on a Video channel. Would be intersting, if anybody likes the idea.
I was guessing about arranging fights, editing Charakters in the game of other Woman that what to and see what the game do in the fights?
How about this idea?

For one, don't create that on Youtube, they're infamous for not checking fair use, heck, just recently a guy who's giving guitar tutorials (and uses his own music) got into trouble because somebody else swiped his music, added lyrics to it and passed it off as his own.

Two, it has to be fair use or under permission from the game's creator, the latter of which were harder to come by. If the video is critical like it's a parody, a comment, a criticism, by law that's acceptable. However, wherever you do it, read the guidelines first. In the corporate world, laws reach as far as lawyers being paid to interpret them. I'm not joking, the iPhone contract has a clause of you agreeing not to use the technology to build an atomic bomb.

What would be alternative to YouTube?

As long as you comply with their guidelines, the most obvious choice is Twitch.

I have started the channel on YouTube. For Music I am clear of the Rights. Maybe it will work out the way I do.

I genuinely wish you luck. My musician example was just that, an example. As I'm not a streamer or videographer, I'm unaware if Twitch has drawbacks, but I do know about Youtube, that if anyone files a copyright complaint, it's very hard to prove you're right. Especially they don't have to prove anything, that burden would be on you, but let's hope it'll never come to that.
