Does anyone remember the 1980s daily comic strip "Apartment 3G"? One of the lead characters is a single, modern career woman named Margo.
A mysterious, sexy divorcee named Marc moves in across the hallway--Marc and Margo flirt and feel sexual attraction for each other, but hold back from dating because of two mystery women in Marc's life: his needy, intrusive ex-wife, and a younger single woman who is pursuing him now that he's available.
Is the younger woman the reason Marc got divorced?, Margo can't help but wonder. And how far along is Marc's relationship with this sexy suitor?
One day, Marc's refridgerator needs to be serviced, but he needs to be at work. He asks Margo to house-sit until the repairmen arrive.
Margo can't help herself, and against her better judgment, invades Marc's underwear drawer. It's generously filled with women's underwear. Racy women's underwear, of the crotchless variety.
Dammit, thinks Margo. Marc is already sleeping with his new suitor.
Then it gets better.
Marc's phone rings. Thinking it might be the repairmen cancelling, Margo answers.
It's not the repairmen. It's Marc's ex-wife. Marc's ex-wife already knows about the sexy girlfriend, but does not know the sound of the sexy girlfriend's voice. Margo pretends to be the sexy girlfriend. The two argue.
Margo thrills at the catfight in progress over Marc. Perhaps she can get the ex-wife to eliminate the sexy girlfriend, leaving Marc available for Margo to date.
Or
Perhaps the sexy girlfriend will find out about Margo impersonating her. Perhaps Margo and the sexy girlfriend will catfight.
Neither catfight happened. But either would have been intriguing.
