Also no Fyrecracka's fight journal? It might not be the most liked but it is the most influential.

Absolutely,  so many great characters and chapters

Personally, I might rate a story higher by the number of discussions it entailed as measured by the no. of posts revolving around that story.

As, Kiva's & Kelli's Fight Journals did.

That sounds like a really cool idea.  Why don't you do that?

Rich

If anyone, including me, could possibly do it. Hence, I mentioned the discussions the story entailed rather than simply counting the number of comments it received.

For example, Kelli's Fight Journal also have a general discussion section. Not to mention, someone mentioning it in a distantly related topic on writing styles. So, to be more specific, how influential the story was/is.

I wouldn't expect someone to manually go through the site's sections to check it. It's best done by a bot. But again, it's still laborious for the moderators. So, better to wait to see what idea they come up with.

Influence is also a tricky one to judge. I saw a discussion of why HP Lovecraft has the legacy he did compared to other writers and the consensus was it wasn't that he was a better writer but that he responded to fans a lot more and let anyone uses his universe versus being  protective of it.

Yeah there is no easy or even fair way to do this.

Does the the writer with 30 stories and 60 discussions a more influential writer than the person who did 1 story and spawned three discussions? You can make a case the latter is.

If we go by total discussions we would also have to consider if the majority of the discussions are started by one of two people. The passionate fanbase distorting popularity or influence. So yeah it would be a mess to consider influence.

Great list and appreciate everyone’s effort in putting this together.

Thanks to all the great writers for their content.

There may have been a few missed but one I would surely think deserve an applause and a nod is Ahnafights.

Ahnafights Wild Cats of the West series to me is one of the greatest saga’s I have ever read and one of the reasons I visit this site.
