I don't know how you people think about it. But Farrah Fawcett died tragically in 2009.
For me it feels wrong to discuss a fight where she is part off. To talk in ways like she gets her ass kicked etc is something we should not discuss about.
I think we must leave dead celebrities in honor and keep them out of polls or stories.
Aslong they are alive it is not a problem but now it does not feels right.
Ray

Disagree. For celebrities, the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. (Oscar Wilde)/quote]

Well.... sadly, we can't ask Farrah how SHE feels about this. (I suppose, IF she were alive, she MIGHT enjoy discussing the film - and her role in that fight scene. But she's not - and can't - so I have no idea how to respond to this question.

My sense is, if it raises these kinds of questions, perhaps it's better not to deal with "late" celebrities until a reasonably long time has passed since their deaths. And that's the problem! What's "reasonable" for one fan, may still be "too soon" for another. Ten years? Twenty-five? Fifty?

Is it too soon to ask whether Julius Caesar "threw his fight with Brutus?" (the one where Brutus and 12 other guys stabbed him like 100 times in the back!)

OR was the original question about the "film characters" and not about the actresses at all? And if it was, does that make a difference? If so, how much?

(See where this is going....?)

For the record it wasn't my intention to tarnish the memory of a celeb who passed away. To upset anyone is the last thing I wanted to do. The voting can go either way, and yes it was primarily about the characters as I stated before (last I checked Holly was in the lead).

Ginny makes some good points. I loved Farrah Fawcett, had her famous poster hanging in my room during college and I miss her. And while I don't feel personally bothered by using her in a catfight story, if it bothers other fans here, I would say don't do it. There are always plenty of celebs alive and kicking to be used. JMO!

... fine...

... but, then, if one or a few people come here and state that they have "problems" with other people discussing a particular living celebrity or another, or "visible minority" ones at large, or ones used as "jobbers", or against any form of catfighting (celebrities or otherwise), ect... then everyone here would then have to cease and desist ?

And like someone said, time spans aren't the same for everyone... Farrah = too soon ? ... Monroe = long enough by now ? ... Princess Diana ?

Also, far worst things continuously get said about such by tabloids, "biographers", ect...

To me, this well falls within the "if you don't like it, don't read/watch it" domain

P.S.: to say that one died "tragically".... I don't want to sound callous, but Farrah passed way at 62 (not so "old", but not in the prime of life), of a natural illness, which she knew about in avance, where as "tragically died" would be more along the lines of when it's a 4 year old who passes away, or, say, a John Lennon who gets murdered at 40 and, here again, even as a big Beatles fan, be it then or now, I'd not make any issue about anyone syaing negative things about him... I'd just switch to another page.

... but few as hot and "able" (catfight-potential-wise) as Farrah and many of her 1960's-70's-80's conterparts ;)

Or Dimebag Darrell of Pantera who was murdered onstage.

... there you are... not to mention all the people who die, "tragically" or not, that we never hear about because they're not "celebrities", also, regarding detachment, in most cases, we never even actually meet or interact with our favorite "celebrities", hence it shouldn't be that huge of a deal of years down the line, one gets dissed in a biography, tabloid article, or used in a catfight discussion... at least not nearly as much as it were a family member, freind or even a simple acquaintance or workmate...

Like I was saying, if a celebrity's (dead or alive) that one likes (enough to have a "problem" with it) and you see her name in a topic heading... then just don't click on it...

Thanks for all your reply about using or using not a dead celebrity.
Everybody has his own oppinion of using Farrah in a poll or story and everybody may think of it in his own way. I wont click on the button in the future if for example Farrah is used in it.

But lets just continue with this poll.

And i am sorry Ozzgeb that i made your poll a bit of a mess. Apologies.

To make the point yet again, these polls are primarily about the characters; the actresses happen to be portraying them.

I loved this movie but the fight scene was too short. I voted Jessica wins by submission or KO (catfight).

Jessica and Holly are tied for win by submission or KO; last chance to break the tie.  :)
