Logan's Run (1976) catfight: Jessica vs Holly
« on: February 14, 2016, 06:51:10 AM »
For those of you who have seen the 1976 movie Logan's Run, there was a fight scene that didn't last long. In a scenario based on the movie, what would come of a fight between Jessica 6 (Jenny Agutter) and Holly 13 (Farrah Fawcett)? What would the setting be and how would they fight? Do they keep their miniskirts on during the match or are they torn off?

Found in IMDB: "The catfight between Jenny Agutter and Farrah Fawcett was planned to be a much longer scene. This had to be changed when the two actresses pulled hair too hard and the director feared they would end up fighting for real."

Hot. Thanks for sharing. I have seen the movie and don't remember the scene in question.

This photo suggests Jenny and Farrah disliked each other.  ;D

Not sure if the stuff about them nearly fighting for real was promo hype, but I did hear that the fight scene was longer but heavily edited down for time. It's  incredibly brief in the film. Jenny Agutter was a great English rose type, I think Emma Watson is a very good modern day equivalent of her.
Looking for rules cf for partner, Michelle, pics on profile. Manchester based. 28 yo, 5'2 size 8 - 10. Will fight older or similar age. Serious enquiries only. She will voice verify with potential opponent. No timewasters.

holly by KO
It's a long, fierce scrap with both of them determined to overwhelm the other. Lots of clothes tearing, hairpulling, kicking and slapping. Jessica finally finishes it by wrapping her mile long legs around Holly's neck constricting the blonde until she passes out.

I echo "ArrangecfUK's comments as I also remember reading back then that the fight scene was longer but was cut dramatically.  I wish they would have made up the time elsewhere as the fight scene could have been well worth it and made the movie more memorable.  Also, when it first went to TV I believe the fight scene was cut entirely.  That happened with "From Russia With Love" too when it was first shown on TV.  The censors must have seen these female fight scenes as too provocative for the time.  Damn purists!

There would also be many scissor holds between them. Ankles would lock and thighs would squeeze as they grunt and groan from the energy they channel through their legs.

I don't know how you people think about it. But Farrah Fawcett died tragically in 2009.
For me it feels wrong to discuss a fight where she is part off. To talk in ways like she gets her ass kicked etc is something we should not discuss about.

I think we must leave dead celebrities in honor and keep them out of polls or stories.
Aslong they are alive it is not a problem but now it does not feels right.

Disagree.  For celebrities, the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.  (Oscar Wilde)

Well.... sadly, we can't ask Farrah how SHE feels about this. (I suppose, IF she were alive, she MIGHT enjoy discussing the film - and her role in that fight scene. But she's not - and can't - so I have no idea how to respond to this question.

My sense is, if it raises these kinds of questions, perhaps it's better not to deal with "late" celebrities until a reasonably long time has passed since their deaths. And that's the problem! What's "reasonable" for one fan, may still be "too soon" for another. Ten years? Twenty-five? Fifty?

Is it too soon to ask whether Julius Caesar "threw his fight with Brutus?" (the one where Brutus and 12 other guys stabbed him like 100 times in the back!)

OR was the original question about the "film characters" and not about the actresses at all? And if it was, does that make a difference? If so, how much?

(See where this is going....?)
