For me with technology, things are a lot easier, having the ability to stream videos, is a lot better than having to wait for a video in the mail…like it was in the 80’s

Also, having the web, I can watch a cat fight whenever I want to.

YouTube 2011-2014-ish was a big change.  Revolutionary really.

<> It showed that most "real fights" are inconclusive draws.  Both fighters are really just trying to escape with their dignity intact.  Still takes guts to start a fight--but once the first punches land, both women are looking for an off-ramp, and fast. 

<> And yet .... some of the best fights I've ever seen were available then as cellphone catfights.  Two girls in a driveway obviously with a gentleman's agreement not to pull hair.  Two girls in a narrow alley between a metal fence.  Two girls going three rounds, each harder than the last.  Blew any Crystal fight out of the water.

<> The wealthier the neighborhood the cellphone fight was in, the sooner it got pulled down.

I see that as a positive and a negative. The positive is that we have so many options and so much better video quality, but on the other hand waiting for the videos to come by snail mail was always intriguing. Especially when you got a catalog or newsletter with only a few photos so you never truly knew what you were getting until you finally watched the tape.

They don't exist anymore--they're lost classics.  As YouTube began to monitor content, they were pulled down without warning and disappeared forever.

2011-2014 was the "anything goes" Golden Era.

Initially, when I discovered my fetish... it was over 20 years before cellphone video came out...i hated scripted matches, always thought they were boring...enjoyed grudge matches, and two girls fighting for money (DWW) girls were all tough and great fighters, as well.  Also, submission wrestling, Beatrice Goffin, was one of my favorites. Both, Kristie Elzold, and Charlene Rink did scripted stuff, but they also had a lot of real submission wrestling match, which are the ones I liked.

I like most of the European girls because, they were tough and aggressive, and fought for money, as well.

I would have to say, when cellphone video came out, things really changed, back in the 90's there were a couple companies sailing real fights caught on camcorder before cellphone video came out...I remember buying a couple of those on DVD...lol

As time passed the fetish for me has changed a bit.

Before I was all about the scripted and fantasy fights.  Now I’m much more actual catfight with action but I’ve also learned what I don’t like.

With regard to technology it’s a double-edged sword.  On the obvious hand having access to thousands, if not hundreds of classics online is awesome.  But it’s also bad for the producers and women of the fetish as they don’t get paid from from pirating. 

I always buy the video I want to support the people who make them.  But at the same time what I’d love to see more free content from are from studios that don’t exist anymore or went belly up from 1983-2007ish.  I want to buy these but you can’t anymore because well there’s no where to go.

With tech I’m totally cool with someone posting a video from the 90s who’s studio doesn’t exist anymore but what I can’t get over is on the free sites where the fetish actresses openly talk about sponsorships is pretty messed up on my view.  Here’s people who are operating in a taboo space and they putting a lot of effort into making these newer more competitive fights, pay em! They’ll keep making more!

I would agree that technology has been the biggest factor in how my catfight "fetish" has evolved.

Back in the early 70's, when I finally reached the ripe old age of 21, I would search a few adult bookstores hoping to find something about catfights.  Occasionally I would get lucky and find a magazine with two nude models posing in different ways, simulating a catfight.  Then men's magazines like Nugget, Cavalier, and Swank began posting letters from readers who witnessed catfights, or even featured a rare catfight photoshoot.  And that's how I discovered Crystal Films, which made it possible to mail order VHS tapes of good catfights.  But I believe the internet was the biggest factor.  On sites like yt, people could post cell phone videos of actual catfights.   That was a huge step forward.

  Many fans today do not want to pay for videos anymore so now less money for producers and fighters. Many producers today depend on sponsorship.

I totally get that people are not as willing to pay for produced catfights these days because there are so many real catfights posted to various social media sites.  But I think it's the type of fights people want to see that also has a bearing.

Some people like to see real, unrehearsed catfights, like the ones posted on social media sites.  But others like to see the model fights, where the women shed their clothing and end up rolling around nude on the bed or floor.  Personally, I prefer the former, but I think the overall "catfight fetish" is big enough for all to enjoy.
