After decades of purchasing, collecting, and restoring videos/pictures I'm at a point where I need to re-organize my entire collection. I'm looking for input on what others have done so I don't steer down the wrong path considering I have over 15 TB of files to sort through.
Some sort of branching logic makes sense (Year > Producer > File, Producer > Year > File, etc...), but each has their shortcomings as I think about it more. For example, when I'm looking for a particular clip I may or may not recall the exact producer or year it was produced. I've also thought about certain types of matches then breaking it down from there, but you're still left with having to remember things about said files. Tagging each file makes sense, but it's a daunting task for what I have on hand.
For anyone starting out, start organizing early and stay organized throughout or you'll end up in my situation :-D
Any lessons learned from y'all is greatly appreciated!
