I have some kind of video lasting more than an hour, several fights. At the end, Helen vs. Elena from the "Black Sea Amazons".

I had one or both of the convention videos ... had them on VHS but like a lot of us do ,  tossed out everything or had a computer crash.

I was real new to DWW so couldn't identify the competing girls very well other than DWW's Hana. I had a few matches with her one them.

The one girl I remember more than any other at the convention was Helen Von Mott ... only because she acted like a arrogant, spoiled brat the entire time ; bitching about her song not being played while she entered the ring , than showing off her new Ju Jitsu skills as she repeatedly choked and joint locked her opponent , even though  choke holds and joint locks were not permitted.  Her constant ignoring of the rules caused the match to be stopped many times, rules  discussed - again - before continuing .

After this one match with her and seeing her acting this way, I never wanted to see her in action again, despite her being one of the top women at the time.  She thought she was above the rest and rules didn't apply to her.

Is she still involved in female combat  ?

These are so great-- thanks a lot for bringing back the good memories. I wrestled Helen once - a very last minute thing when I heardmfrom a friend that she was in town-- Wash DC-- she is the greatest person. it was a blast! I did pretty good in grappling with her but tbh she was in control nearly all the time.  At least I got an "uh-oh"  when I reversed a hold and got the upper hand- for like ..oh...less than 45 seconds LOL.  She is so strong, skilled and a fine person. we did work up a sweat. like I said a total BLAST.  I dont; even know what she is doing now..I think Virago is long gone, but still she has done a lot for the sport and fetish side  both.

Relocating to a shelter doesn’t suit Jessi Taran, who wants to keep living in her colorfully painted bus.

“I choose to live on my bus. I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me. This is what I want to do. I don’t agree with our current economic paradigm, “ she said. “I don’t feel like it is a good deal for me to give up my life for an apartment. I’m disabled. To me, this is the best solution. I am being fiscally responsible living within my means. I shouldn’t be punished for that.”
I know she had some injuries before the final WWC (at one point I believe she had an operation done in India) and towards the end she would mostly ref matches. If she has chronic injuries like back pain, it can be hell to just sit in a chair or even sleep let alone work a job. Hopefully, that's not the case, but I know one thing for sure, in this country we don't do a good job taking care of the disabled (hell, how many disabled veterans are homeless?) and if you don't have "good" health insurance, you are absolutely fucked.

Not a single resident of Rydin Road has been moved into permanent housing. Most are now living on the streets of Richmond. What the naysayers posting on this thread don’t understand is that the vast majority of people living on Rydin Road are handicapped/disabled. What is someone supposed to do if they have no family, and cannot earn enough money to pay rent? Where are they supposed to go? Government housing? Great! We would all love to hear about that. Tell us more… Solid facts/information ONLY please – no vague anecdotes. Furthermore, think about this… How much money does a person have to have access to in order to be considered ‘legal’? Should poor people be jailed simply because they do not have enough money to pay rent, and therefore have to sleep on the street? What about all the tax payer money being spent on incarcerating people? Wouldn’t it be better to spend a fraction of that money on housing people instead? Solving this problem really does not need to be nearly as expensive, or as difficult, as politicians are making it out to be. The real problem is that our local representatives do not actually WANT to do what needs to be done in order to truly SOLVE the problem. All they want to do is push homeless residents out. This ‘strategy’ is NOT a ‘solution’.
Here's a comment she posted in the comment section. Sad, but so true that our politicians don't actually care about solving real problems.

“They got money for war, but can't feed the poor" - stills rings just as true in 2023...
It's very sad. Helen will still remain a great woman who has done a lot to promote women's wrestling submission, grappling and bjj advertising. She was a BJJ competition champion. I really liked her fights with Momo. It's a pity that many female wrestlers and catfighters end their careers, giving their health and youth, go into oblivion or get into shitty situations. I think hundreds of fans of her fights know where she is or are close to her. And she will be pleased with moral and material support. American guys, take care of your amazing women. She really is a legend. The old school of wrestling and catfight is rapidly fading into the past, there will be no more such women. We already lose one of these epic ladies every year. Very sad.

Very sad and you're right about some female combat competitors ending up in sad situations.  Helen wasn't a favorite of mine back then only due to her ego and cockiness ( and being too good to make things sexy ) ... but for me that goes with anyone being too cocky, nothing personal against Helen.

Actually, I'm surprised Helen ended up in such a situation like this, because to me she seemed to be 'more mature', smarter ( street smart )  and in control of things than some of the other girls who were just in this for fun and making some money at  it. Helen actually studied and practiced the sport of  BJJ seriously ,  excelling in it rather than just to satisfy nuts like us with our FF fetish. From what I've seen of her she seemed she would have become an instructor,  have her own production company or something in this field she obviously loved when her competing days were over rather than ending up like she is .  WTF  ???

I wonder how the other girls from those times are doing now ...  like Ziggy, Tweety,  Josephine, Rachel , etc. Some like Robin, Hana , Mel and Edita are still hanging in there and involved in it and I hope others, though maybe not still wrestling,  are in good shape - physically, mentally and financially.

She is disabled!! Oh DAMN!  Please tell me how.

yep I got totally out of touch with Helen, and I have never bought any vids- from anyone (irl matching interests took up all my interest) so-- someone tell me what happened to her. Please tell me. I always admired her as the real deal and a great person.

I wonder what happened to some of the other star session women, or just, like dww folks.

Can anyone fill us in-- anyone with confidence the info is accurate.?

I saw the match between, Josephine vs Fuchsia....Fuchsia, was tough as nails....even after being trapped in the chokehold, she kept fighting too escape until one of her teeth broke off
from Josephine attempting to get her arm around her neck, instead of her chin....great match...
Cat fights, wrestling, grappling
