Indian Ladies ‘Chest Fighting’
« on: January 17, 2025, 03:26:49 PM »
YouTube  has many examples of challenges between iIndian women.   Two sister who have their own section,  challenge each other to arm wrestling, nose rubbing, hair pulling, wrestling and chest fighting plus others.  Some of the videos are listed as comedy  The wrestling and hair pulling doesn’t work.  The chest fighting is most interesting.  The match can consist of bumping or a straight push, the object is to drive each other back.  They have been posting for over a year and early mistakes are slowly rectified.. One example was filming a chest fight from behind one of the combatants.  Fighting in sarees is certainly colourful but the material coming over the shoulder not only obscures the contest but also cushions the bumping and pushing.  Tight tops of contrasting colours would highlight the action.  A comment was left that they should bring other women in.   This is important,  watching your team over a season wouldn’t be interesting if the opposition is the same every week.  It would also inject real competition.

The empowerment of women and encouraging activity seems fashionable in India.  Another enterprise sees a a man travel to villages to get the ladies competing.   It amazing to see how many women take.part and of different sizes and ages.   One of these.programmes is titled Wrestling, another, Catfighting.    Neither programme lives up to the billing.   The women interlock finger and try to push each other out of a marked circle.
The format is that of an an elimination  tournament the winner going through the rounds to the final.

Anyone seen these programmes?
