Evening All,
I was wondering what the back story was to TPC productions. How did get they started & where / how did they acquire their stable of wrestlers ?  The majority I've seen had some form of wrestling training which made for some classic match ups as we know. Not that I would have objected to for example Lena & Ayeshia in a Crystal Catfight style brawl though :-)

   There was 2 parts of the company, TPC UK and Florida. Remember reading that company started when UK and American guy started shooting videos together.

Not sure how they started, but the two Phils used to work together, one ran festelle and the other TPC. They used to do combined shows.  The Phil who ran festelle liked topless action, where as the Phil who ran TPC liked the girls in bikinis etc. After they split from each other, they both ended up working with American producers, alhough I think it was festelle who took girls like Luna over to America.

Festelle was run by two guys colloquially known as "the two Phils", being Phil R and Phil B. They ran Festelle for a number of years post its beginning but as the style of female wrestling video changed and moved to the more erotic end of the scale they disagreed on the direction they wanted to take Festelle. Phil R wanted to move their productions to that more erotic end of the spectrum while Phil B wanted to keep it as more traditional pin/submission wrestling. as a result they decided to each go their own way with Phil R retaining Festelle and Phil B starting TPC. As was mentioned in a post TPC later tied up with a US based group as well.

When the two Phil’s Split, Festelle stayed London based while Phil Barrett ran TPC. (The Private Collection) from the county of Norfolk.  The connection to America came under the banner of WISC (women’s international Sports Club).   The first Festelle meeting I attended  had both Phils in charge. After that I attended several Festelle meetings Under the stewardship of Phil R.   I attended on meeting in in a hall in the country a little way from Norwich, organised by Phil B.

That is a very interesting link and  an observation highlights the difference between their wrestling matches..   Festelle - aggressive topless,  TPC. Competitive but restrained.   The restrained attitude is a turn off for me.  The matches were not choreographed  but if one girl  pushed the other she would not encounter resistance.   The meeting I attended I can’t comment on because non of the matches stuck in the memory.. Two TPC matches on the net were memorable.  Janet from London against Sarah from Norwich.   Both ladies wanted to win and that’s all you need for a good match.   Scottish Angela vs Italian Romana, took it to the next level.   There was animosity between them. The way they were grabbing and jumping at each other made for a thrilling watch.
Festelle on the other hand were for the majority very competitive.  While some match were hard fought , there were sporting in nature.   Other matches were  bad tempered,  akin  to watching two girls scrap it out in the park.  Jef the ref said, girls might have reservations when they arrive but once they commit to wrestle, they want to win.

I love both TPC and festelle! I really liked both companies storyline catfights. Both companies seemed like a UK version of Crystal films. I would think TPC had some kind of deal with the Florida based Womens World Wrestling because a lot of their girls appeared in TPC matches, there content is on the TPC site and sometimes they'd even film from the same location with the only difference being when it was Women's World it'd be a US announcer and for the TPC matches it'd be an English announcer. Sometimes they'd even film two different matches using the same two girls with the difference being the rules.

I think the majority of TPC matches were definitely fully competitive - there was a rivalry between girls on the roster, particularly in the group competing in the early 90's, and wrestlers like Ayeshia, Lena Davey, Lisa Marie and Marie Laure certainly meant business (witness the Ayeshia vs Lena bouts). What Festelle had, which TPC never really did, was a sense that the bout could possibly get out of hand, which was the case on several occasions. This meant that Festelle needed a competent referee like Jeff Long to keep things in check but TPC was able to get by without a visible referee because the "danger" element didn't really exist.

Good analysis. I would mention though that the TPC fight between Lena and Marie-Laure got out of control, some painful holds appled by the judoka and bad blood between the two (possibly caused by Marie-Laure being topless and Lena not topless)
