Mum's First Fight
« on: July 27, 2025, 01:50:13 PM »
This is an account of a fight Martian Boy's mother had. It was originally posted on the now defunct momfight.com. Posted with permission from Martian Boy, who forwarded it to me.

This is the first fight my mum had. It was with a woman called Sandra. Mum was 24 at the time. Sandra was 22. Mum has not said what the fight was over, but it had been building up for some time. This is how Mum described it.

"We stood facing each other. I was wearing a dark blue knee length skirt, with a white blouse. I had black shoes on pointed at the toes. Sandra was wearing a red knee length skirt, with a white blouse. She had red shoes on pointed at the toes. They matched her skirt. There were about a dozen other women standing around us, aged between twenty and twenty eight. We had both said everything we were going to say. Nothing more left to say now. We just stared at each other for about fifteen seconds. The women watching stood there silent. I made the first move.

I did not say anything, I just slapped Sandra across the face. Her head went to the side. The women watching gasped. Sandra spun around back towards me. Her face was red. We both went at each other grabbing hold of each others hair. The women watching started to cheer. We both stood there holding each others hair. For a minute or so we stood motionless. There were cheers from the women watching; "Pull her hair!" "Go on, Go on!" "Kick her!". I kicked Sandra on her leg just has she started to pull my head back and forth by my hair. I squealed in pain has she did. There were more cheers from the women watching. I started pulling her head back and forth by her hair. We were both squealing with pain. We both started to kick each other has well has pulling hair. For the next two minutes, we we tried to pull each others hair has much has we could. The hair pulling was really painful, but I knew I was hurting her has much has she was hurting me. My eyes were red and beginning to water, although I did not feel like crying. Sandra's eyes were also red and watering. I had to do something else. I pushed myself towards her still holding her hair. I caught her slightly unawares. Sandra stumbled backwards against a wall. I now had a bit of an advantage. I hit her head against the wall several times, each time a little harder. She was still pulling my hair back and forth. Suddenly she stopped. She put her hands around her head and at the same time started crying. There were several cheers from the women watching. I was still holding Sandra's hair has she fell to the floor. I picked her up by the hair. There were tears running down her face. "Again sometime?" I said to her. She did not say anything. I let go of her hair. Two of the women watching started to comfort her. I walked away with several of the other women who had been watching. Our paths have not crossed since."
Has told to me by Mum.
