Arriving at the barn as the first rays of sun are beginning to peek through the aged wooden slats, it feels peaceful and serene here. A sharp contrast as to what is about to happen. Sitting on a hay bale, thinking about my strategy for the fight to come, envisioning my destruction of Kathi. I hear the creak of the old barn door open, and Kathi enters,. I had no doubt that she would show up. Now she's here and my previously relaxed body instantly tightens and becomes firm. In a matter of moments, the calmness of this place will be replaced by Kathi's violent screams. I can't wait to tear her apart.
Kathi makes her way over to me covered in an elaborate Japanese kimono. She's very pretentiously dressed in comparison to my simple terrycloth bathrobe. I am envious of her kimono and will be taking it home with me as a souvenir of this fight after I've laid her out, naked and beaten in the hay on the floor of the barn. Kathi tells me that this is my chance to back down. I wonder how many women have succumbed to her bullying and have done just that. Not me, and not today.
Putting down my Styrofoam cup of coffee, I stand before Kathi. We're an identical 5' 7" in height. "I'm not backing down from a bully like you, Kathi. Instead, I will be teaching you a lesson." All of my life, I have wanted to get my hands on someone like Kathi. This morning, she is going to pay the price for the years of bullying and snarky comments that I've had to endure from women like her. There will be no going behind my back today. It's Kathi and I, face to face, here and now. No rules. No clothing. No excuses.
"The time for talking is over, Kathi." I tell her, as I unfasten my robe and let it drop to the floor. "Let's settle this like real women," I tell her, as I wait for her to do the same.
