A rose by any other name, part 1.
« on: December 24, 2025, 09:36:42 AM »
At the suggestion of forum member and renowned story writer Kiva I have split this latest story into two parts. Part 1 covers the fights between Nancy Holder and myself and Lesley O’Dowd and Suzi Lomax. Part 2 covers the fights between the Dawson sisters, Jenny and Rose, and Terri Brooks and Blake Mitchell respectively. Part 2 of this story is also part 6 of my “Blake’s progress” saga.

Spoiler alert, the next 4 paragraphs are a bit techie so please feel free to skip ahead to the action.

The video system that Paige had developed and had installed at CLAWS for Tygress Productions wasn’t really designed for live presentation. Images were captured from several fixed cameras and then blended using clever software and a lot of computing power to allow the producers to show the action from any angle. The problem was that it was far from instant. Tonight’s 2 hours of boxing would take several weeks of post-production before a video could be released.

None the less Gabi Marshall acknowledged the demand for a live stream of CLAWS events and created a subscriber service called Moonstruck for that purpose. Members could login and watch fights in real time. The limitation being that the view came only from the fixed cameras. Between them Paige, Jill Montrose and Paige’s mother, Jan Sommerville, had become quite adept at following the action. While Jill monitored the cameras and called the action, Jan switched the requested camera to the live feed. A selection of simple merge and fade routines developed by Paige prevented the result from appearing too jumpy.

The only problem was that there was no sound, no commentary. For tonight’s event an added complication was that many people, particularly the LLCC members who couldn’t get tickets to the fight, were unwilling to subscribed to Moonstruck for a single evening.

Resourceful as ever, Gabi Marshall brokered a solution to satisfy all parties. Katie Holder would provide a running commentary of the action which would be transmitted with the Moonstruck live stream and also on a free audio only stream for the benefit of the LLCC members.

Much of what follows is taken from Katie’s commentary with my personal thoughts in italics, please read, enjoy and let me know what you think.

Ellen xx

Good evening, everyone, Katie Holder here. I’ll be your commentator for this evening so please sit back, relax and enjoy the action as it comes to you live from the CLAWS ring room. There are four fights on tonight’s card, all between senior boxers over the age of 45.

These matches are being fought over six 3-minute rounds and will be scored using the CLAWS points system – one point for a standing count, two points for a knockdown and six points awarded by the judges at the end of each round. The judges’ points are split between the two fighters with each judge award either one point each or two points to the fighter they felt performed best in the round. In the event of a low blow, the victim will be awarded four points and the round will be stopped.

Your referee tonight is Gabi Marshall, head of Marshall’s Health Clubs, home of CLAWS, your time keeper is Sallie Wentworth and your third judge is our special guest tonight, Lisa Canning.

Our first match features the oldest boxer in action this evening, 62-year-old Nancy Holder, who, as many of you will know, is my mum. I’ll do my best to keep my commentary unbiased and I apologise in advance if I get a bit excited. Nancy’s opponent tonight is the former CLAWS senior boxing and wrestling champion, Ellen Shaw. These two have fought six times before and are currently three wins each, tonight will be mum’s last official fight and the decider of this series.

First into the ring, in the red corner, is Holder. She’s wearing brown gloves and boots and she slips of her gown to reveal her trademark outfit of cream sports briefs with a wide, vertical burgundy stripe on the right hip. She’s been fighting since before I was born and I’ve never seen her wear anything else in the ring.

Nancy’s boxing career began way back in 1985 when her friend, Jenny Black, persuaded her to join the CLAWS boxing group. There were just four fighters so it was never considered a proper league. She fought there, with varying degrees of success, for 6 years before leaving to give birth to me and my brother.

She returned to the CLAWS ring in 1996, aged, 35, replacing Gabi Marshall who had retired. Over the next year or so she had six fights and won them all. She left CLAWS as the undefeated champion of the newly formed boxing league when she moved to London in 1997.

In London she kept fighting at the LLCC and also attended occasional events at CLAWS. She officially retired from the LLCC in 2010, on her 50th birthday, but earlier that year she had taken part on the first CLAWS senior boxing tournament, where she first fought Ellen Shaw.

Ellen now enters the ring in the blue corner. She is wearing black gloves and boots and, when she slips off her black kimono, reveals that she is also wearing her favourite outfit, black midi-briefs with large white polka-dots.

Ellen is two years younger than Nancy, a couple of inches taller and about 10 lbs heavier. Her boxing career started late in life when she took part in the first CLAWS senor tournament at the age of 48 in 2010. As a rookie, in just her third official fight, she caused a major upset by knocking Nancy out in the fifth round to finish third overall in the tournament. That incident led to the friendly rivalry between the two that has existed ever since.

Nancy won their next two encounters, in 2011 and 2012, but Ellen took the honours in a 2014 challenge match and again in the 2015 tournament. Their 6th encounter took place in 2018, shortly after Ellen and lost to Emma Cummings, who was making her come back after a horse-riding accident, and Nancy had defeated the reigning CLAWS senior champion, Terri Brooks. Once again Holder proved her claim to be the better boxer, knocking Shaw out in the third round.

The stage was set for a seventh and final encounter in 2020 but that was delayed until tonight. Who really is the better boxer? We will find out in the next half hour.

Referee Gabi Marshall calls the fighters to the centre of the ring and announces them to the audience. Ellen is 5 feet 7 inches tall, 60 years old and weighs in at 160 pounds. Nancy is 5 feet 4 inches tall, 62 years old and weighs in at 148 pounds.

After a brief discussion with the referee the fighters return to their corners and a final pep talk from their seconds, Peggy Brown with Ellen in the blue corner and Maggie Martins with Nancy in the red corner.

The timekeeper calls ‘seconds out’, The seconds leave the ring and the fighters prepare to do battle.

The bell rings for the start of round one and they move out to face each other. As experienced fighters they approach each other cautiously, throwing out the occasional test jab and shuffling around the ring.

Suddenly Holder closes on Shaw and launches a flurry of punches, catching the taller woman off guard. One of them must have stung because Shaw covers up and backs off to gain space.

The dance continues until Holder, clearly frustrated by the lack of engagement, lunges forward again and lands another flurry of blows that forces Shaw to retreat again. Holder is definitely the aggressor in this match so far. Shaw is responding to Holder’s attacks but has yet to mount one of her own.

They close again briefly and this time Shaw does manage to land a few telling blows but Holder stands her ground and responds in kind and it is Shaw who, once again, backs off to gain space.

With the round drawing to a close Holder changes up a gear and goes on the attack again. This time she succeeds in forcing Shaw onto the ropes where she opens up with a tattoo of blows.

Ellen Shaw has her back against the ropes, she is bent down, her gloves are protecting her face and her arms protecting her breasts, as Holder pounds her arms and ribs. The referee moves to stop the action but the bell goes before she can intervene.

Round one is over. Holder returns to her corner with a spring in her step. Shaw rests against the ropes for a few seconds before heading for her own corner. In both corners the seconds work feverishly to get their fighters ready for the next round

The judges’ scores are in; Holder leads by 4 points to 2.

To be honest I wasn’t surprised at the score. Nancy was in prime condition and had caught me off guard, I’d been on the back foot for most of the round and I had full expected to drop a point or two. I gritted my teeth, hardened my resolve and got ready for round two.

The bell sounds and the two women come out for round two. They bob and weave and duck and dive, both seeking an opening to land a telling blow. Suddenly Holder finds it and fires of a left hook. It lands just above Shaw’s right eye. Shaw spins round and crashes to the mat face down!

Ellen Shaw is down for the first time in this match. Nancy Holder retreats to a neutral corner and the referee moves in and starts counting over the fallen sixty-year-old.

Shaw is back on her feet at six but referee Gabi Marshall gives her a count of eight before checking her over and waving Holder back in. Shaw is clearly shocked by the knockdown and does her best to keep out of Holder’s way while she recovers. Holder senses blood and goes on the attack, pursuing the larger woman around the ring.

Shaw may be at bit dazed but she’s canny enough to keep away from the corners and the ropes but this can’t go on forever. Eventually Shaw has to stand her ground. She squares up to Holder and prepares to fight back. She fires off a couple of relatively ineffective jabs that Holder deflects easily. Holder’s response is to fire off another left hook. It connects with Shaw’s temple and she goes down for a second time.

Marshall steers Holder to a neutral corner as Shaw comes to one knee and pauses. She waits until Marshall has counted to eight before standing up. Marshall checks her over and waves Holder back in.

In the dying seconds of the round Holder tries to attack again but Shaw has recovered somewhat and manages to hold her off until the bell sounds. They return to their corners, Holder with her head high and looking pleased with herself, Shaw looking somewhat dejected – she knows she’s losing and needs to up her game.

The seconds work on their fighters as we wait for the judges’ scores. Once again Holder has dominated the action. The two knockdowns mean she has already extended her lead to 6 points and now the judges have scored the round 5-1 to Holder. As they get ready for round three, Holder leads by 13 points to 3.

Nancy was beating the crap out of me and I didn’t have much to offer in response. The pounding she’d subjected me to in the closing seconds of round 1 seemed to have robbed me of my strength. I gave myself a stiff talking to and prepared to go on the attack in round three.

The timekeeper calls seconds out and the fighters get to their feet. Shaw looks particularly determined, head held high and bouncing on her heels as she waits for the bell. The bell rings for the start of round three and Shaw comes out quickly and goes on the attack.

For the first time in the fight, Holder is on the back foot. Shaw attacks her relentlessly, using her height reach advantage to rain blows on the smaller woman. Holder retreats and covers up until a right hook catches her on the jaw and sends her sprawling to the canvas for the first time in the fight.

Shaw retreats to a neutral corner as the referee begins counting over Holder, face down on the canvas. Holder pushes herself up to her hands and knees and shakes her head before standing up. She’s on her feet at six but the referee counts to eight before waving Shaw back in.

A shaken Holder does her best to fend off the attack but her guard is quickly taken apart and suddenly she’s back on her backside again. This is a real upset. Come on mum you can do better than this!

This time Holder is slower to get up, coming to her feet at eight. Marshall checks her over and waves Shaw back in. One minute into the third round and Shaw is dominating the action completely. Once again, she goes on the attack, forcing Holder back. But then Holder turns the tables, feinting to her right she ducks to the left, driving her right fist into Shaw’s solar plexus

Shaw doubles up as Holder’s left hook catches her on the ear and sends of staggering towards the ropes. She grabs the ropes to stay on her feet. Marshall moves in, sending Holder to a neutral corner, and gives Shaw standing count of eight before allowing the action to resume. Shaw seems shaken by the turn of events as a pair square off again. This time it’s Holder on the attack and Shaw on the back foot as she retreats around the ring, covering up under the smaller woman’s assault. Eventually Holder finds an opening. A right-left combination to the tits brings Shaw’s guard down and a right upper cut drops her to her hands and knees.

Holder retreats to the neutral corner as Marshall starts counting over the fallen Shaw, who is staring at the mat. She’s breathing hard and trying to collect her wits. Slowly she pushes herself up as the count rises until, at eight, she regains her feet. Marshall counts to nine, checks her over and then waves Holder back in and the pair square off.

With just a few seconds around three remaining they trade punches in the centre of the ring, but, once again, Holders starts to dominate, forcing Shaw back towards the ropes. Shaw has her back against the ropes as Holder drives the straight left into her solar plexus. Shaw’s guard comes down and a right cross connects with her jaw, sending her crashing to the mat on alongside the ropes

Marshall moves in to begin counting. Shaw is laying on her back her left arm dangling over the ring apron. She looks to be out of it. She hasn’t moved when, with the count at six, the bell rings for the end of the round.

Holder makes her way back to the red corner looking satisfied but frustrated. Clearly saved by the bell, Shaw is still lying on her back. After a few seconds she seems to stir, rolls over, pushes herself up and staggers back to the blue corner where Peggy Brown sets about getting her ready for the next round.

So far there’s been no blood, but both women have taken a beating. There’s a mouse forming under Holder’s right eye and a lot of redness around Shaw’s tits and temples.

Holder sits in the red corner, her glove hands between her knees, leaning forward and looking very determined. Shaw, by contrast, in the blue corner is lying back her arms spread wide, hooked over the middle ropes, while Brown tends to her, applying Vaseline around her nipples and her temples. Both women are soaked in sweat and breathing hard. The pace of this fight has been quite intense for women of their age.

The judges’ scores are in and, despite dominating the first half of the round, Shaw has only got two of the six points; the other four have gone to Holder. The combination of two knockdowns, a standing count and the four judges’ points moves Holder up to 22 points. Shaw’s two knockdowns and two judges’ points gain her six points moving her up to 9, so the gap now stands at 13 points.

Well, that was that, I’d shot my bolt. For a moment there I thought I had her but I got careless and now I was paying the price. Nancy had always maintained she was the better boxer and, right now, she was proving it in spades. She’d knocked me out at the end of the third and, as I steeled myself for the fourth round, I was prepared for her to do it again. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a quitter, but I was exhausted and I wasn’t sure how much more punishment I could take as I looked across the ring at her. She was standing up, bouncing on her heels, those pert b-cup breasts jiggling just as they’d done when I’d first seen her in action over 30 years before.

The bell sounds for the start of the fourth round. The confidence Shaw displayed at the start of the third round seems to evaporated and she is quickly on the back foot as Holder resumes her assault. Once again it is Shaw covering up and back peddling around the ring as Holder pummels her arms and ribs Searching for that elusive opening. Eventually she takes a risk going dangerously low and driving a fist into Shaw’s belly just above her panty line.

The referee is close by as Shaw doubles up and Holder drives another right upper cut into her jaw. Shaw straightens up and staggers wildly as Holders right hook slams into her temple and sends her crashing to the deck again.

Satisfied that there’s been no infringement, Marshall directs Holder to a neutral corner and begins counting over the fallen Shaw.

Shaw raises her head. She looks done in but slowly pushes herself to her hands and knees and, as the count rises, get shakily to her feet. Marshall stops counting at nine, checks the former CLAWS senior champion over and, satisfied she’s fit to continue, signals Holder back in. The action resumes with Shaw looking unsteady and slow on her feet as Holder goes on the attack again.

Shaw’s feeble guard is quickly taken apart by the older woman. Blows to the breasts bring Shaw’s gloves down and that right upper cut finds her chin again. Shaw’s head goes back and her knees buckle. Holder steps back and Shaw face plants on the canvas.

Nancy Holder retreats to a neutral corner. Ellen Shaw looks to be completely unconscious. The referee is counting over her. The audience, particularly the CLAWS girls sitting near the blue corner, are shouting at her to get up. But Shaw isn’t moving – she’s out cold.

The count is at eight. Shaw stirs briefly and raises her head. The expression on her face says the lights are on but no one’s home.

Gabi Marshall counts: “Nine…ten…out!”

The bell rings and Ellen Shaw’s face drops back to the mat. Nancy Holder raises her hands in victory. At 62 she has defeated her long-time nemesis and won the series they’ve been fight for 12 years. Way to go mum!

I came to face down on the mat. Peggy was kneeling beside me asking if I was okay. To be honest I was completely out of it. My head was spinning, I felt sick, it was hot and noisy and everything was a blur. I couldn’t have told you what year it was, let alone what day.

After a minute or so, with help from Peggy, I got slowly to my feet and staggered back to my corner. After a further minute recovering on the stool, I joined Gabi and Nancy in the centre of the ring where Gabi announced:

“Ladies, after two minutes and twenty seconds of round three. Your winner, by a knockout, Nancy Holder!”

Deafening applause followed before Gabi added:

“And commiserations to the loser, our very own Ellen Shaw!”

More applause, for which I was grateful, and a big hug from Nancy herself. Then, with a little help from Terri, I made my way out of the ring and took my seat to watch Suzi taken on Lesley. As I sat down Erica leaned over from behind me and said:

“Bad luck Ellen, I thought you had her in the third. I hope it doesn’t hurt too much. I’ll kiss it all better when we get you home.”

Sometimes she’s such a sweetie, now let’s get back to Katie and the action.

My ordeal was over. I was sorry I’d lost but, in a strange way, happy that Nancy had won. She’d always said she was the better boxer and, secretly, I’d always agreed with her. It was the right result, I just wished it didn’t hurt so much. The bruises would heal and now it was time to sit back and watch my friends in action. Once again, I’m going to mix Katie’s commentary and my observations as we watch Suzi Lomax take on Lesley O’Dowd.

Next into the ring are Suzi Lomax and Lesley O’Dowd. I had the pleasure of seeing both these ladies in action just a couple of months ago. In fact, one of them was in action against me, but more about that another time.

Lesley enters the red corner wearing an emerald green robe and white gloves. She is 60 years old and a seasoned veteran, although she had never officially been a member of CLAWS or the LLCC. She has boxed and wrestled all over Europe and North America for over 30 years and, along with Blake Mitchell and Gabi Marshall, is one of only four women to have beaten Rose Dawson.

Lesley slips off her gown to reveal her large but firm breasts and an emerald green thong more fitting for a woman half her age. Fortunately, she has tight, firm buttocks that carry it well and, from the rear at least, leaves little to the imagination. She cuts an imposing figure as she stands confidently in her corner watching her opponent step through the ropes on the other side of the ring.

Suzi Lomax, enters the blue corner wearing a black gown and black gloves. She is 54 years old and a former CLAWS league boxing champion. She slips off her gown to reveal a pair of black sports briefs with a yellow stripe on her right hip. Like many of the other fighters this evening, the outfit she’s wearing is the ‘uniform’ she’s worn in many fights over the years.

She’s a big girl for a boxer, with large, pendulous breasts, F cups, that she somehow uses as counterweights, allowing her to move in ways you don’t expect. I had the pleasure of stepping into the ring with her a few months ago and I can confirm that she has a powerful punch and, for her age, is extremely fit and surprisingly agile.

Although I couldn’t hear Katie’s commentary, the sight of Suzi in the ring with her gloves on took me back to that morning at Sian’s two months earlier, when she had taken on Katie. I was Suzi’s second for that fight, her third in three days, and, although it ultimately turned into something of a sex fight, I had been immensely impressed by Suzi’s determination against a woman young enough to be her daughter. (If you want to know more read my story ‘an unexpected bonus’)

If I’m honest I was worried for Suzi. I had boxed Lesley four times in the past two years and I knew how tough she was. Somehow, I’d twice managed to score a narrow victory over the Irish woman but I’d also taken a hell of a beating in the ring at her ‘fighting house’ and I had been lucky to achieve a draw (a double knockout) at Sian’s just two days before Suzi took on Katie.

The fight begins with O’Dowd in characteristically attacking mode. She stalks Lomax around the ring using her height and reach advantage to fire off shots that, if they landed, would have the shorter woman in a world of trouble.

The problem for O’Dowd is that none of them land. Lomax is never where O’Dowd expects her to be. She constantly ducks and weaves clear of the Irish woman’s fists.

Eventually a frustrated O’Dowd closes on the younger woman and, in doing so, makes a big mistake. Lomax’s fists fly for the first time in the fight. A left-right-left combination slams into O’Dowd’s tits, bringing her guard down, and a right hook to the temple sends her spinning to the canvas.

Lomax retreats to a neutral corner as Marshall starts counting over the fallen O’Dowd. O’Dowd slowly pushes herself up, getting to her feet as the count reaches eight. Marshall checks her over and waves Lomax back in.

O’Dowd turns to face her opponents with a look of shocked surprise on her face. Shock swiftly turns to anger. O’Dowd charges across the ring, wraps her arms around the buxom brunette and headbutts her. A dazed Lomax staggers back against the ropes, grabbing them to avoid going down.

Marshall is unimpressed. She signals to the timekeeper to ring the bell and then, after checking that Lomax is alright, gives O’Dowd a thorough dressing down. She then turns to the audience and announces:

“Ladies, after two minutes and thirty seconds I have stopped round one following a serious infringement by Lesley O’Dowd. I will not tolerate such behaviour in my ring. Any further infringements of this kind will result in disqualification. I am treating this in the same way I would treat a low blow and awarding four points to Suzi Lomax.”

Well, that told her. The judges’ scores are also in and Lomax’s knockdown has earned her four points to O’Dowd’s two so she goes into round two leading by ten points to two.

Fortunately it seemed that Lesley’s headbutt hadn’t caused any serious injury and Suzi was looking alert and determined as she waited for the bell to start round two. Over in the red corner Lesley was quietly seething. Once again, the Irish redhead’s temper had got the better of her and Gabi Marshall had made it plain that she wasn’t taking any nonsense from her.

The early part of round two followed the same pattern as round 1 with Lesley attacking but mostly finding thin air as Suzi avoided her punches. But, half way through the round, that suddenly all changed…

O’Dowd is getting frustrated. She tries to close on Lomax. Lomax feints to the right but goes left, delivering a hard straight right to O’Dowd’s ribs. The blow lands just below O’Dowd’s right breast. O’Dowd’s guard comes down and a haymaking left hook from Lomax strikes her right temple, sending the Irish woman to the mat for the second time in the fight.

O’Dowd is down, lying on her left side. Lomax makes her way to a neutral corner and Marshall starts counting over the fallen redhead. O’Dowd rolls onto her belly and pushes herself up, getting to her feet at seven. Marshall counts to nine, checks O’Dowd is fit to continue and waves Lomax back in.

They square off and, this time, it’s Lomax who goes on the attack. O’Dowd seems hesitant and backs off, her guard raised to protect her face. Lomax goes low, landing hard straight punches to both of O’Dowd’s D cups. O’Dowd rocks back against the ropes. Her guard comes down and she bounces back off the ropes, chin exposed, as Lomax’s left upper cut flies up to meet it. O’Dowd’s head snaps back, her legs buckle and she measures her length on the canvas.

Lomax stands for a moment, admiring her handywork, until Marshall gently steers her towards a neutral corner. O’Dowd is face down on the mat, she looks to be out cold. Could this be it? If it is then it’s a major upset for the Irish woman.

The count is at six. O’Dowd stirs, raises her head and staggers to her feet, just beating the count. She stands on shaky legs as Marshall checks her over and signals Lomax back in.

They square off. O’Dowd is desperate to get back into a fight she is clearly losing. She fires off a few jabs which the busty brunette easily avoids. Finally, she is rewarded with her first real success of the fight as a straight left flattens Lomax’s huge right love bag. Lomax winces but shrugs it off, ducking under O’Dowd’s right, aimed at her head, and driving her own right fist deep into O’Dowd’s belly button.

O’Dowd drops to her knees, gloved hands clutching her belly. From the red corner Maggie Martins is screaming for a low blow but Gabi Marshall was directly on top of the action and, as Suzi Lomax makes her way to a neutral corner, signals that the blow was legal and starts counting over O’Dowd.

Tears are welling up in O’Dowd’s eyes as she rocks gently back and forth clutch her abused midriff. The count rises and she reluctantly gets to her feet. Marshall checks her over and, after a brief discussion with the angry and frustrated Irish woman, waves the busty brunette back in.

There are only a few seconds of the round left. O’Dowd steps away from Lomax, creating some space, and resumes her long-distance jabbing, keeping the shorter brunette out of striking range. The bell sounds for the end of the round and they return to their corners.

With just two rounds gone O’Dowd has the look of a beaten woman. She has been knocked down four times and only really landed one effective punch on the younger brunette. You can’t argue that Suzi Lomax is a small target. She’s five feet four inches tall, weighs one hundred and sixty pounds and has a 42F bust and forty-inch hips. Her melons should be easy targets for a fighter of O’Dowd’s experience but she’s running rings around the redhead.

Lesley was shaking her bowed head as she made her way back to her corner. She knew she was being beaten hollow, she just couldn’t work out how or why. Suzi, in the other hand, was buoyed up and bouncing around as she stood in her corner watching the judges’ scores come up on the score board. Along with the three knockdowns she’d taken all six of their points and was now leading by twenty-two points to two – an incredible score after just two rounds.

I have no doubt that all of the CLAWS girls were impressed by and rooting for the woman they had recently got used to calling “boss”. I was frankly astonished. I’d boxed Lesley four times and I’d never had her on the back foot like this. When I had won, I’d had to fight my way back from near defeat. I’d taken a pounding from the Irish woman but she’d hardly managed to touch Suzi.

Throughout the break Maggie worked feverishly to get Lesley ready for the third round but when the time keeper called seconds out and she got to her feet, despite the determined look on her face, she still looked uncomfortable. If Suzi maintained her cool and kept attacking the redhead, she could wrap things up in the next three minutes. One glance at Suzi left me in no doubt that was exactly what she planned to do.

The bell sounds for the start of round three and Lomax is quickly on the attack again. I’ve never seen O’Dowd looking so hesitant and uncertain. She really doesn’t seem to know how to deal with the woman she made the mistake of illegally attacking a few minutes ago.

Suzi Lomax has a reputation as a fair but tough opponent. If she doesn’t like you, she’ll let you know. And it’s pretty clear that right now she doesn’t like Lesley O’Dowd.

Ouch! That’s another right upper cut. O’Dowd’s head snaps back and she staggers away, just managing to stay on her feet. Lomax is quickly after her and this time a right hook to the jaw sends her to the mat.

Lesley beat the count but was soon in trouble again. She went down a second time just thirty seconds later. Back on her feet for the third time in the round and, realising she was haemorrhaging points, did her best to stay on her feet while Suzi continued to attack her. It seemed only a matter of time until she went down for the count.

Lomax pounds O’Dowd relentlessly but the Irish woman refuses to go down. She staggers around the ring with her gloved hands protecting her face as Lomax’s clubbing rights and lefts rock her head and flatten her tits. What’s wrong with this woman? Go down for fuck’s sake. Save yourself from any more punishment.

Lomax forces O’Dowd back into the ropes where she starts to slump, her thong clad bum resting on the middle rope. Lomax fires off a few more blows to her boobs before Marshall moves in to separate them. She steers Lomax to a neutral corner. As she does so O’Dowd tries to stand but pivots round, her arms flailing, and ends up facing the crowd.

Marshall turns back to O’Dowd who has turned around and is now hanging over the top rope with her breasts and arms dangling outside the ring, desperately trying to stand on jelly legs. She’s clearly finished and can’t continue.

Marshall puts her hand on O’Dowd’s shoulder, says a few words and then signals for the bell. Lomax raises her arms in victory as Marshall helps O’Dowd back to her corner where Maggie Martins has a stool waiting for her.

The fight is over; Lesley O’Dowd has been stopped by Suzi Lomax with just 30 seconds of round three remaining. O’Dowd entered this fight the favourite but she’s been completely outclassed and outfought by Lomax, the deserved winner of the contest.

Well done, Suzi. On a personal note, after that display I don’t feel so bad about you knocking me out in April.

It had been an emphatic return to the CLAWS ring for Suzi Lomax. In her first official fight in 5 years and just a month shy of her 55th birthday Suzi had totally dominated Lesley, knocking the Irish woman down seven times and winning the fight in less than three rounds.

The Suzi Lomax we had seen in action tonight seemed a much more powerful and confident Suzi than the one I’d faced in this ring six years earlier. Suzi was back, it would be interesting to see what she decided to do next.

What a superb account of a thrilling bout.  Suzi really gets the better of my lovely wife Lesley. I can’t tell how arousing I find it hearing of Lesley’s magnificent breasts being pummelled black and blue.
