From the woman's perspective, it's the competition and the possibility of winning and defeating your opponent...similar to winning a tennis match or a 5K run only much more intense. Even when not participating yourself, Watching 2 ladies match up provides the opportunity to experience the same type of feelings, elation for the winner and dejection for the loser without suffering any of the bruises, pain or exhaustion. I'm sure there's a number of different reasons for different people. But from where I stand, a big appeal is the taboo aspect. A lot of fetishes derive from the thrill of doing or liking something you aren't "supposed" to. And most world cultures push the idea that violence is something men do, and that it isn't ladylike to fight. So when we see women fighting, it seems exotic and transgressive in a way that men fighting doesn't.

Especially when catfighting often includes things like hair-pulling, scratching, and biting - even in men's combat sports, those things are usually banned, yet when women fight it's considered normal to use such tactics. We're taught that women shouldn't fight, but a stereotypical fight between women is even more brutal than a stereotypical fight between men.
