Allison Payne vs Rachel Apache
« on: February 05, 2011, 12:17:23 AM »
I took a sigh when I started this because I've been waiting to get this started and finished for a very long time, with so many things going wrong. But now, I can see this through. I can't wait for this story to be over.

Allison Payne vs. Rachel Apache

Rachel is at her mansion in her birthplace of beautiful and peaceful Boulder, Colorado and she sits in one of her spacious living rooms watching a screen that covers the entire wall, while playing one of her many violins, since she has the screen on mute. The 31 year old, 5’11” 150 lb Rachel, with her Persian brown skin, her shin long wavy black hair, midnight blue eyes, and Wonder Woman figure is dressed in a purple, blue, and white striped sweater that she knitted herself, a pair of blue camel skinned pants, and soft dark purple Minnetonka boots and she contrasts with the naturalistic feel of a room that has taxidermy all over it and those stuffed animals are from all over the world. Rachel helped build this house herself and many of the animals on display were killed by Rachel because they tried to attack her; they belonged to one of the many tyrants she helped eliminate as a government operative; they could not be reverted from feral or had some sort of altering to their genetics or were experimented on, and had to be put down.

It‘s a very very little known fact that more than fifty of the fighting styles Rachel knows have been banned from OPW by Siena Blaze to protect the other fighters. Rachel and Siena don‘t mention this publicly, but this info has been leaked several times and it has only added to Rachel‘s mystique and to those who have repeatedly said that Rachel Apache is the greatest female fighter of all time. There are many trophies and title belts and all sorts of souvenirs from Rachel’s many matches and many adventures all over her home; perhaps the animals are trophies as well. But Rachel also hunts animals as well for food, though she could very well buy the meat. No one really knows how rich Rachel is; she may very well be a billionaire, but a lot of people don‘t know that Rachel has given millions to charitable causes around the world and has even gone as far as to hire mercenaries to end hostage situations and finance rebels to help overthrow dictatorships. This is something that she doesn’t mention, but those close to her are very well aware of it.

There are many skins in the room as well; Rachel believes that every part of an animal she hunts must be used, as many Native Americans do, despite Rachel being the offspring of a Japanese mother and a Persian/Iranian father. Growing up in a place as beautiful and so natural as Boulder is has made an eternal impression on Rachel. As a child, Rachel took to Boulder’s environmental stereotypes and was a vegetarian, but her childhood friend turned husband Angelo Thunderhawk’s love of meat made her adjust herself a bit. Now, Rachel loves Italian food and could just about cook anything, yet is still one of the most spiritual people you could meet, once you get passed her stoic exterior. Rachel’s eyes narrow as she sees the face of her oldest rival on the wall-vision and says “sound on”…

Siena- Right now, it’s a three horse race and forth and fifth horses may be entering late. When we were making this fight a few years ago, Washington DC was supposed to be the site and I’ve got the mayor and a bunch of folks coming to me saying the fight should still be there. I’m also looking at Philadelphia because our February event is called “No Love” and Philly seems like the place to go; Rachel’s camp seem to like that. Then there’s Chicago at Soldier Field, which I’m pretty strong about and Allison’s camp and Rachel’s camp like that site. But the problem is that there’s a snowstorm blowing right up that entire region, so moving this thing indoors may be the way to go. We recently had a card in Dallas and we’ve done big business there; the fight may have to go to Cowboy Stadium and that’d work fine because the Super Bowl is going to be there and we’d want it to be in a big market. Then there’s a huge indoor stadium where the Indianapolis Colts play where the Super Bowl will be next year as an option because that’s pretty close to Chitown. I told the fighters as soon as the fight was signed to just go ahead and start training and I’ll worry about a neutral location.

Reporter- What about the rumors that you’re offering certain cities “hush fights?”

Siena- Those are not rumors; I want to compensate the other cities when they don’t get the Allison/Rachel fight. We’ve already had Allison and Jasmine agree to face each other in Chicago, so with this huge storm coming, I think that’s a big enough fight for them to be alright with Rachel/Allison being somewhere else. In fact, No Mercy is going to be in Chicago this year so that’s a little gem for you guys to salivate on. I haven’t gotten a confirmation yet, but we’re talking to both Marie and Samantha and they’ve agreed to fight each other one more time for Marie‘s TV Title, and I was thinking about Philadelphia for that. The fight, Lord willing, will be this month and because these two haven’t been able to come together on much since they legitimately hate each other, and because it’s a fight everyone wants to see, I’m glad that I don’t have to be asked about that. My staff is working on other matches to be on that card. Queen of the Ring will be in Miami, not London because I think it’s disrespectful to crown a queen where there already is one. But there will be an event in London and the OPW World Title will be defended against Gemma Rox, though she will be fighting before that. What else? Dallas and Indianapolis are going to get taken care of too, if it comes to that. But right now, the more I think about it, the more Washington is making sense, but don’t quote me on that because the weather is bad there too.

“Anything worth mentioning?” Rachel’s husband Angelo says, “Roselyn’s taking her nap and the chili is great.”

Rachel- Thank you, hon. She’s still debating where the fight will be. She can’t make up her mind. We may be going to Dallas.

Angelo- Home of my Cowboys.

Rachel- (frowning and rolling her eyes) Yes, of course.

Angelo- I’m sorry, sweetheart. Hey, we didn’t make the playoffs either. Maybe next year will be a better year for your Broncos… maybe.

Rachel- You and your humor. You’re lucky we’re not still in our teens; I would knock you silly for that.

Angelo- Oh? I think I would outlast you. After all, I know all your weak spots.

Angelo leans over his wife and kisses her on the cheek.

Angelo- Come on; I wanna show you something.

Rachel gets up and heads to the elevator with her husband.

Rachel- I’ve been meaning to tell you this; I’m not used to this type of training camp. I’m used to intensity and just pushing myself and lots of watching tape and coming up with my strategy. This is so laid back. I think we should move the camp someplace else; I just… this is my home. I just am having a hard time getting motivated here because I’m so comfortable. I want to go and chop some more firewood or build another snowman. I may even give Roselyn some more violin lessons later on before dinner. She’s a lot better than I was when I was her age. But Angelo, this is so laid back, I’m worried.

Angelo- Well, I have a feeling that’s going to be changing soon. And let me worry about the strategy a bit, sweetheart. Just enjoy the experience.

Rachel- Angelo, I’m your wife and a mother and sometime between all of those duties, I have a fight to train for with a very dangerous opponent. I’m concerned.

Angelo- Have I ever told you how cute you look when your voice gives away a little feminine softness and sensitivity?

Rachel- I’m not playing, Angelo. I gave up being a vegetarian for you and I let you beat me in a fight so that you could marry me as part of the tradition, and you--

Angelo- Oh, here we go with that again.

Rachel- You just better be right about this.

Angelo- Voila, Rachel.

Rachel emerges from the elevator in her extremely large underground gym. The gym is the size of two football fields, has several rings and cages, tons and tons of workout equipment, running tracks and swimming pools and even holographic simulation equipment (think the X-Men‘s Danger Room)… and this is a very small part of Rachel’s home, but as Angelo would tell you, the underground parts of Rachel’s many mansions make the Batcave look like a cardboard shack. Rachel’s eyes focus on a young woman with a swimsuit model figure with large breasts, a firm stomach with a little pigeon pouch below the navel, a large butt and strong legs who is approaching her. She’s 5’8” roughly around 140 lbs, long brown hair with a big white patch of hair in the front and at the top (like Rogue from the X-Men) and she’s got green eyes and is wearing a yellow and green one piece with brown wrestling boots.

Rachel- Is this a joke, Angelo? I think you need to put down the comic books.

Angelo- No. This is your sparring partner. Her name is Roxy.

Roxy- (extending her hand) Ah’m pleased to meet ya.

Rachel- What makes you think you could last five minutes, let alone one minute, with me?

Roxy- Well, ah don’t really know the answer to that, but ah’m willin’ to try… ah’m not a quitter.

Rachel- We will see, child. We, will, see. I don’t think I’m going to waste time changing for this.

Rachel walks to the cage while Roxy looks at Angelo.

Roxy- She’s got a pretty crappy attitude. Ah’m glad you prepared me for it.

Angelo- My wife isn’t the friendliest person when she first meets someone, especially if that person is someone she’s going to spar with. And I read a lot of comic books and my mom looks a lot like Rogue.

Roxy- Is that right? Your momma must be a good woman then. My friends told me ah look just like her, so I dyed my hair, an’ ah’ve got the accent and the attitude. Your wife’s about to find out.

Angelo- Just take her with a grain of salt. She means well. She will respect you; trust me.

Roxy- Oh, ah know she will. Ah’m gonna go rogue on her ass.

Roxy enters the cage and balls her fists up, looking at the taller Rachel, who stares back with her hands on her hips.

Roxy- Let’s get it on, sugah!!

Roxy charges Rachel and wings a left hook that Rachel sidesteps, a right cross that Rachel avoids as she shoots a skeptical glance at Angelo, grabs Roxy’s wrist, and knees her in the stomach.

Roxy- OOOOF!!!

Roxy doubles over as Rachel grabs her by her butt and the back of her neck, lifting her up and slamming her stomach down across her knee.

Roxy- OOOOUUUGGHH!!!!

Roxy tries to roll and hold her stomach, but Rachel still has a hold of the back of Roxy’s neck and flings her against the cage using only one hand. Roxy’s back and head hit hard and Rachel runs in, does a cartwheel, but misses the sidekick as Roxy throws a right hand to Rachel’s solar plexus and the taller woman freezes long enough as Roxy ducks low, wraps her arms around Rachel’s waist, lifts her up onto her shoulders and falls backwards, throwing Rachel into the cage in a fall away slam. Roxy yanks Rachel up by her collar and rams a knee into Rachel’s stomach.

Rachel- Ough…

Roxy’s knee hit Rachel right in the middle of her stomach, but her calf felt the softness below Rachel’s navel. Roxy grabs Rachel, and power slams her down on the mat. But on impact, Rachel tightens her legs and arms around Roxy’s arms, locking on a crucifix submission and extending them, but Roxy easily breaks free, much to Rachel‘s chagrin, stands as Rachel rolls and gets to her feet, ducks a Rachel left hook and buries an uppercut just below Rachel‘s navel.

Rachel- Uuuuggghhh!!

Roxy staggers Rachel with a right hand to her cheek, grabs her arms and yanks her into another knee to her stomach.

Rachel- Ohhh…

Roxy turns Rachel’s head with a left hook and Rachel brings her arms up to block the following right cross as Roxy starts in on those ribs.

Roxy- I gotcha, sugah. Don’t feel too good to be gettin’ your ass whipped in front o’your hubby, do it?

Rachel- Ugghh!! You’re about to find out some--ugghhh!! Things about me that may surprise you.

Roxy- Like what? You ain’t as good as people say you are? Honey, that don’t surprise me any!

Rachel raises her arms above her head and locks her fingers, but before she can land the double axe handle smash, Roxy sees Rachel’s sweater raise up and the shirt underneath, revealing her sexy brown stomach with her trademarked navel that doesn’t stick in or out, and she drives a punch right on it, freezing Rachel in her tracks as her eyes widen.

Rachel- guuh…

Roxy- Night night, sugah.

Roxy’s right cross hit’s the point of Rachel’s chin and Rachel goes down flat on her back. Roxy puts her foot on Rachel’s stomach and looks down at her, smiling and pointing.

Roxy- Let this be a lesson to you, Ms. Thang. Ah ain’t no slouch when it comes to fightin’ an’ as long as Ah’m here, you will respect my abilitAHHHHH!!!!

Rachel grabs Roxy’s foot, twists it, sending her down on her stomach while standing and crossing the brunette’s legs around her right leg and locking on the sharpshooter.

Rachel- Submit now. You’ve proven yourself, but if you don’t submit, I have no problem holding on until you do.

Roxy- We’ll see about that!!

Roxy uses her leg muscles and starts to flex them, attempting to break the hold. Only one person has been able to break the Rachel Apache sharpshooter and that person is Glory. Rachel is surprised by Roxy’s strength as she feels Roxy’s legs starting to break her grip, but Rachel tightens the grip, gritting her teeth as Roxy grits her own teeth and pushes even harder.

Roxy- Ah’m gonna break that hold, an’ then, Ah’m gonna break you!!

Rachel- It takes more muscles to talk than it does to shut up, little girl.

Roxy- Ah’m gonna make you pay for calling me that.

Angelo- Time!

Rachel and Roxy- What?

Angelo- That’s it. Let her go, Rachel.

Rachel- But I don’t want to. I want to finish this.

Roxy- Give me another minute, an’ she’d be my sparrin’ partner!

Angelo- Rachel… let her go.

With a sigh, Rachel releases Roxy and the two women go toe-to-toe before Angelo steps between them. Rachel folds her arms and looks at Angelo while Roxy is still angrily poking her bottom lip out at Rachel.

Angelo- I’m so happy you two are bonding. You’ll have plenty of time to do that, since Roxy is moving in with us for the duration of training.

Rachel- What?

Roxy- Ah make a great omelet. Ah hope y’all don’t have jus’ deer meat, ‘cause ah like grits, eggs, and bacon, and ah like country fried steaks. Ah want some real food.

Rachel- If this is your surprise, Angelo, then--

Angelo- Come on, sweetheart, don’t be like that.

Roxy- She’s jus’ mad ‘cause ah beat her up. Ah’m used to it. But she’s gonna have to get used to it.

Rachel gives Angelo a look, and then, she sees a silhouette out of the corner of her eyes and turns to see the 5’10” 170 lb Serena Williams look a like, the former OPW World Champion, former OPW Television Champion, 2006 Queen of the Ring, and a woman who has never been cleanly beaten in the ring… Serenity with her long dark brown hair in a ponytail and dressed in a white jacket, a white fancy wind suit and white boots.

Serenity- I put my luggage in the guest room I picked out.

Rachel stares at Angelo and her face turns red. The last time Rachel and Serenity laid eyes on each other, they had a fight. Rachel and Serenity have known each other for thirteen years and the relationship has been on and off. Back in 1998, Angelo had brought Serenity, who was just starting as a professional, in to train and spar with Rachel and the story goes that Rachel beat Serenity easily in her basement gym, but Serenity beat Rachel a few minutes later and dominated the rest of the sparring session, thoroughly outwrestling Rachel while Angelo had gone to lunch and beating her again right in front of his eyes. Rachel and Serenity gain each other’s respect and Serenity learned a lot from Rachel, who openly admitted that Serenity, when she’s not injured, is the best fighter in OPW not named Rachel Apache. While Rachel would take a hiatus from fighting, Serenity would become the second biggest star in the company behind Glory, who Serenity repeatedly challenged, but Glory never accepted because, as she put it she was “too busy fighting bigger names with smaller mouths.” When Rachel returned, ultimately Serenity turned heel, joining Christina Munoz’s stable and hitting Rachel with a chair. The two would meet in the parking lot a few months later, have a yelling match, then a fight and even though Serenity would leave Christina’s stable and is a fan favorite, her relationship with Rachel is strained.

Rachel- Have you gone mad, Angelo?

Angelo- I ran into Serenity in Los Angeles a few weeks ago and she told me she was still rehabbing her knee. I asked her to come out here to train with you and we’d help her with her knee.

Rachel- (shaking her head and folding her arms, but whispering) I don’t want her here. You didn’t check with me about any of this; I am so disappointed in you. How could you?

Angelo- I know what I’m doing. Why should you spar with people you like? Why not spar with the best talent available?

Serenity- (entering the cage and walking right up to Rachel) You don’t look too happy to see me, Rachel, but the feeling is mutual. It was hard to come to grips with what I did to you, but I was angry and I let that get the best of me. I’m… sorry.

Rachel and Serenity stare at each other.

Rachel- You of all people know that I prefer to train alone. Sparring is one thing, but training is more personal to me. I also do not feel comfortable training with someone who is going to eventually challenge me for my title.

Serenity- But that’s the business. I heard you were going to retire after this one anyway.

Rachel- Who told you that? Angelo…

Angelo- One fight at a time, ladies. One fight at a time.

Roxy- (looking at Rachel) If you ask me, you got a long way to go, girlie. And don’t think ah’m gonna go easy on you, ‘cause ah’m NOT. This isn’t jus’ to help you; it’s about helping me too.

Rachel- (rolling her eyes) This girl…

Angelo- And that’s not all; Love will be joining us to help as well. And Gemma Rox will be coming to visit and train with us too.

Rachel- (flatly) Great. I guess if I want to be a referee in my next career, I’ll get lots of practice breaking those two up. Have you heard from Sage? She hasn’t been returning my calls.

Angelo- I spoke to her and she’s still angry about what you did in New Orleans.

At that moment, Sage walks up. Sage is the youngest sister of Rachel and Jasmine. She is 5’7” 130 lbs and looks like Jessica Alba from “Dark Angel” with her long black hair, blue eyes, and honey brown skin, but has grown into a body that is more like Kim Kardashian’s. She is dressed in a royal blue sweater with white pants, royal blue boots, and a white winter vest.

Sage- I’m really developing a sixth sense for people talking about me.

Rachel- I want to speak to you in private.

Sage- You can speak to me in public.

Rachel- I said private, Sage.

Sage- You didn’t have a problem knocking me across the ring publicly, so you can say whatever it is you want to say to me publicly too.

Serenity- I think this is a conversation that isn’t any of my business. I’m going to go work on the bike.

Roxy- Yeah, ah think I hear the pool calling my name.

Rachel- You really are developing a disrespect for my wishes, aren’t you?

Sage- I do respect you and I do love you, but you can’t keep bossing me around.

Rachel- (sighing) Fair enough. I only do it because I care. And that is why I’m going to do this. Sage… I’m sorry I attacked you; it was the heat of the moment; I didn’t know it was you and I reacted.

Sage- You don’t sound like you really mean that.

Rachel- I mean it enough. Next time, trying talking to me before you grab me from behind.

Sage- Next time, trying not losing your temper and not waiting this long to apologize to me.

Rachel- I tried to call you. Your niece wanted to talk to you. You blew me off.

Sage- I was on tour; that’s what fighters who work a nearly full schedule do, Rachel.

Rachel- You wanted it. (sighing but with sincerity in her voice) This is going nowhere. I have apologized to you; take it or leave it, but know that I love you just as much as I love my husband and my daughter and I wish I could go back and change things. But I also hope you’ve learned a lesson in this. I’m going to go and wake Roselyn up. It is time for her snack.

Rachel sighs deeply and leaves Sage and Angelo in the cage, heading for the elevator with a disappointed look on her face.

Angelo- You guys are going to have to make up.

Sage- The only way she’s going to accept the fact that I’m a fighter and will be a fighter is if I beat it into her.

Angelo- Don’t say that, Sage.

Sage- Look at the way she treats me. I won all those tournaments; I won the Queen of the Ring. I’m a fighter. But it’s always, “oh you wrestled Marie in a miniskirt and pantyhose and lost” or “you let go against Gemma Rox and lost” or “you underestimated Samantha and lost”… she always brings up the little things I did wrong, but never the mountain of things I’ve done right.

Angelo- She just doesn’t want you to get hurt and she doesn’t want you fighting.

Sage- Well, she’s going to have to get over that.

Angelo- I didn’t even get to tell her about Nikky Smalls.

Sage- What about her?

Angelo- She’s going to be here next week to train with Rachel. I’ve got some strategic ideas that Nikky can help me with.

Sage- Yeah, that would be something she’d want to know, bro.

Angelo- I think I’ll hold off on telling her, heh heh. Let her get adjusted to the way things are going to be done. But the idea is to get people in here who are really going to push Rachel and aren’t going to be intimidated by her. I also think that if she doesn’t like the fighters or has some sort of negative opinion of them, that’s good too. If I could get Kayla in here, I would. Even Samantha or Glory.

Sage- I think there’s a fat chance of any of those three showing up here ha ha.

Angelo- (winking and smiling) Maybe, but you can’t count out my powers of persuasion. I talked you into coming.

Sage- Yeah, but I wonder if you’ll be able to talk me into staying.

Angelo- Once Love gets here, you’ll be fine.

Nikky Smalls is a three time world champion boxer and a three time Olympic gold medalist in boxing, but she is known for being the second person to beat Siena Blaze (the first was Rachel), and the first person to beat Rachel Apache in a sanctioned fight. Nikky held Rachel’s 140 lb boxing title that Rachel had vacated two years earlier and politely challenged Rachel to fight her to silence all the critics who said the belt was still Rachel‘s. Rachel had to lose 14 pounds on short notice to make weight for the fight, was dehydrated and received an IV before the fight, but still managed to knock Nikky down in the sixth round after getting dominated and knocked down twice in the fourth and fifth rounds. But Nikky finished Rachel off early in the seventh. Nikky would go on to lose her title to Allison Payne after winning the first two rounds of the fight before abandoning her strategy of sticking and moving, opting to brawl more with Allison to prove a point that she was just as “street” as her taller, stronger foe, and Nikky’s trainer and father threw in the towel after she was brutally knocked down four times. Nikky is considered the “Sugar” Ray Leonard of women’s boxing because of her million dollar smile and stick and move super defensive style of lightening fast combinations, the dreaded jab to the pit of the stomach with a hard right hand over the top, and that annoyingly difficult to figure out Philly shell defense, but has been training with her good friends Glory and Isis Jones to cross over to mixed martial arts. The only things she does more than train are charity work and motivational speaking… oh, and have fun.

Meanwhile… Allison Payne’s camp is the way it usually goes. They’re set up in the Florida Everglades; Allison is up early rolling giant tires down a dirt road and hitting them with a sledgehammer afterward. She trains in a hot small shack of a gym with missing walls and a swamp surrounding it, and also trains in Jamaica with many onlookers coming to see her. There’s no state of the art technology and nothing unfamiliar to the 5’8” 150 lb Halle Berry looking Allison, with her shoulder length red hair and hazel eyes… just the trainers, the sparring partners, the bags and the radio. Allison’s camp is run by the eccentric but legendary trainer General Cutter, his apprentice and offensive strategist Captain Steve Dunn, the taskmaster and an expert at pointing out flaws and weaknesses, and someone who knows a lot about pressure points and human organs, Corporal Cardiac DeSade (nicknamed “Cardiac” because in his fighting days, several of his opponents suffered heart attacks when fighting him), former two time world mma champion and former opponent of Allison’s, Alexia Paige, the undefeated Siena Blaze protégé Misty “The Perfect” Storm, the undefeated Shakena Sexy, a newcomer with a lot of heart in Tasha (from the story “No Parking On the Dance Floor”) and several aids and male fighters. But today, all the way out in the swamp, Allison and her camp have two visitors as her fellow New Orleanian Yvette Hood and the Chaos from Cardiff and Ultimate Catfighter winner Gemma Rox stroll into the hot gym.

Gemma- Hood, I don’t know about this. Rachel’s husband called me and after I take care of some things, I’m going to be leaving for wherever Rachel is training. These people may identify my arse as being with Team Rachel.

Hood- I don’t think it’s gonna be anything like that, Gemma. Just calm your posh posterior down.

The 5’3” 115 lb Gemma, with her shoulder length brown hair, big beautiful brown eyes, and tattoos and piercings is dressed in black jeans and a black sleeveless shirt with boots and sees the looks on the faces of the others fighters there, stone cold sweaty faces, the faces of warriors, of gladiators, of fighters who seem as though they are willing to die for the glory of the fight, fighters like her. The 5’9” 140 lb Alicia Keys looking Hood, with her long black hair in cornrows is wearing a short tank top, a pair of baggy blue jeans and some silver Nikes. She’s smiling as she looks around and Gemma is sticking close to her as Gemma sees the 5’7” 130 lb black haired blue eyed Misty Storm in a black sports bra and shorts with small wrestling shoes hammering away with punches and kicks at the grappling dummy with Steve Dunn talking to her.

Steve- Work the six points, Misty… the you go. Body, body, body, body.

Allison notices DeSade coming up behind Misty while Dunn is still instructing her and flapping a hard kendo stick a her head, but Misty blindly ducks the stick and hammers the bag with hooks.

DeSade- Not fast enough.

DeSade is sneaking up on the fighters and swinging the stick at random and Gemma takes note of this. His voice echoes through the small gym.

DeSade- You want to be a fighter; you’re no fighters. None of you are fighters. You can’t just punch a bag in this hot gym; you can’t sweat for three hours with only water and conversation; you can’t beat one another up and call yourselves fighters. Fighting isn’t that stuff you see on television; it isn’t that Sylvester Stallone shit. That shit’s bullshit.
Gemma sees DeSade approaching and Hood, who isn’t paying attention, takes a shot to the back of her thigh with the cane, but Gemma is able to duck under it when it comes around.

Hood- Oww! What the hell?

DeSade- You call yourselves fighters? You both have proven to be disappointments. You step in this gym, you are subject to the rules. Rule number six.

He points to a list on the wall. Though it’s dark in that gym, Gemma can see rule number six and sees that it reads, “ALWAYS HOPE FOR THE BEST, BUT BE READY FOR THE WORST.”

Hood- I don’t get what that has to do with him hitting me with a stick.

Gemma- Do you see that over there?

Hood looks and sees several life-sized photographs of Rachel Apache with her arms folded, with her hands on her hips, and in various fighting stances, but all of them facing forward and spread throughout the gym. Then Gemma looks in the ring and sees a fighter in a blue sweatsuit with red headgear on and red boots battering a Rachel Apache replica figure with a black wig on, a purple sports bra, purple shorts, and white shoes. Hood enters the ring and signals for Gemma to follow her and Gemma notices the girl with the headgear on is also wearing headphones. The woman turns, sees Hood enter the ring, and takes off the headphones and headgear and Gemma gets her first real close up look at Allison Payne.

Hood- What up, Alley?

Allison- Yvette, how are you?

Hood- Chilling, baby doll. How’s training?

Allison- Getting myself ready. It won’t be easy, but we don’t ever do easy. You know that. I would hug you, but you look cool and clean in those clothes and I don’t want to get you all sweaty.

Hood- You know that shit don’t phase me, girl.

Hood and Allison hug.

Hood- Oh Lord, forgive my lack of manners haha. Gemma Rox, Allison Payne, Allison Payne, Gemma Rox.

Allison and Gemma shake hands.

Allison- Yeah, I know who you are. Congratulations on winning your tournament.

Gemma- Thanks, I know who you are too. You’re the one who brings the pain.

Allison- So I’ve been told.

General Cutter enters the ring and Gemma jumps when she sees him come around the back of her, noting how quiet his footsteps are. Misty Storm follows. Cutter stands open with a smile on his face; Misty is looking menacingly at Gemma and bouncing up and down like she’s waiting for a bell to ring, and Allison is calm, but looking at the dummy.

Gemma- Listen, I feel compelled to say this before I saw anything else. That stunt you pulled a while back with Rachel’s kid was really fucked up. I don’t want to argue about it or anything, but it was wrong.

Cutter- That’s your opinion. I just thought I’d stop in a say hello to you two. Sorry about the conditions in here, but people have been fighting long before technology took over. Gemma Rox, it’s a pleasure to meet you.

Cutter takes Gemma’s hand in his and bows; Gemma’s eyes widen in surprise at the gesture from a man she feels quite negatively about.

Cutter- And I hope you enjoy your experience working with Rachel and Angelo and whoever else they’ve got up there with them. I’m sure you’re going to learn a lot.

Gemma- How did you know about me going to train with them?

Misty- There are no secrets in the fighting world, Gemma. You’d know that if you spent more time learning the business as much as you do getting pounded by it.

Gemma- Hey Misty! That’s not fucking necessary and you--

Cutter- Let’s keep it professional, ladies. I don’t mind spitting and cursing, but Gemma comes in peace and we should treat our guests with peace.

Gemma- (looking at Allison) So, you don’t have a problem with me being here if though I’m going to be helping Rachel for her fight with you?

Allison- It’s a free country.

Cutter- Look around you, Gemma. A lot of these people are walk-ins who wanted to come and train with us today. We get even more people watching us and training with us when we’re in New Orleans or in Jamaica. Any of these people could be spying on us and reporting back to our opponents, so we don’t worry about it. We’re going to also be doing public workouts with the media invited like we always do. There are certain training methods that are private, but we do those in a private setting. Alley, why don’t you let Gemma hear what you’re listening to?

Allison hands Gemma the headphones and Gemma puts one to her ear. She hears Rachel’s voice ripping Allison in the long rant from Louisiana Slamma. She hears exerts from Rachel’s past interviews and promos where she’s talking about another opponent, but the soundbites can be applied to Allison. She hears Rachel’s voice saying “I made you” or “You will never beat me; you are not even close to what I am” or “You are a pale imitation of me; if you are what I inspired, then I’ve failed as an inspiration” or “I don’t care what you thought I was; I will show you no mercy” and a constant flow of repeated “I’m the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be” running in the background of everything else. She hears Allison’s own voice saying things like “You have to remember where you come from” or “I had to fight to survive” and she hears music from female jazz legend Billie Holliday, but the smooth beautiful song is cut off by Rachel’s new theme music, “You Know My Name” by Chris Cornell. There are even exerts from news coverage of Hurricane Katrina.

Gemma- My goodness.

DeSade- (walking nearby and yelling at Allison) You are NO Rachel Apache. Rachel is PERFECT. Can you shatter that perfection, Allison? Can you break what is unbreakable? She said you weren’t on her radar; she isn’t afraid of you… she said you’re not worth her time!! Your mentor, your idol, this perfect woman who you looked up to said you are shit!!! When you look at her, she is everything that you will never be!!

Gemma watches as Allison hammers the lower abdomen of the Rachel replica and marvels at Allison’s force in breaking the replica’s ribs with her knees.

Cutter- (standing near Allison) Muhammad Ali said “champions aren’t made in the gyms; champions are made from something they have deep inside of them, a desire, a dream, a vision.” What is your dream? What is your vision? Dr. Martin Luther King said, “if a man hasn’t found something worth dying for, then he isn’t fit to live.” And this is certainly applicable to you ladies in here. What is worth dying for? Is this worth dying for, Allison? Is this worth dying for, Misty? Is this worth dying for, Yvette? Is this worth dying for, Gemma? Because to do this, you have to be willing to die, but to get out of bed in the morning, to live, to breathe, you have to be willing to die because in the end, die you will. So why fear death if death is inevitable? People fear life, living in truth and taking on challenging and living every single day for something greater than themselves and their own pathetic opinions and bombastic achievements. You have to reach within, deep within your thoughts, pull out your dreams, and wrap them in plans and realistic goals so that they can become a reality.

DeSade- Your dream, Allison, is to be like Rachel. But Rachel says that you’ll never be her because you’re not worthy. She said you’re nothing but a coward who hides behind us.

Cutter- You’ll never be Rachel, but you are Allison Payne and who is Allison Payne when she faces Rachel Apache? That is the question; that is what you will answer when the time comes. Rachel Apache says she is the best there is, was, and ever will be, but Rachel Apache does not know that, because to know that, she’d have to be in all places at all times and she‘s not. She can say whatever she wants about you; by her own admission, she doesn’t know you and doesn’t want to. But she will know who you are as long as you know you are. Allison Payne is a fighter; Allison Payne has always been a fighter.

Misty- Too bad you didn’t bring your gear, Gemma. But we have extra clothes if you want to go a few with me.

Hood- Gemma’s just here with me, Misty.

Gemma- Hey, Hood, I want to--

Hood- Girl look, I’m hungry; I need some grub and you’re coming with me.

Cutter- And Gemma, make sure you tell Rachel we said hello.

Predictions
*****

Samantha- I’ve fought them both and Allison is by far the hardest striker and the most intimidating fighter I’ve ever faced, but Rachel Apache really is the greatest fighter I‘ve ever faced. No matter how you feel about her as a person, I can’t deny her accomplishments; you can’t and no one else can. She’s done everything there is to do in the fighting world, and that’s why she’s going to lose. Not only does she have zero interest in fighting Allison Payne, she’s fishing for something to get her motivated for the fight. The Rachel I remember didn’t need to be motivated to fight because she loved fighting too much to need motivation. If you said she was afraid or you said she couldn’t kick your ass, she wanted to prove that she could.

But Rachel’s last two fights weren’t that impressive. She was losing to Kayla and came back and she was losing to Christina and got lucky. I think Rachel is slower than ever and she’s passed her prime; she’s not fighting with confidence and against somebody like Allison, that’s going to be her downfall. I’m not saying she won’t have her moments; I’m saying that when it comes down to it, Rachel isn’t the undefeated nineteen year old fearlessly confident Rachel Apache; she’s the thirty-one year old married Rachel Apache-Thunderhawk with one child, and she will be getting the worst beating of her career. When this is over, people are going to be calling for her to retire.
*****

Justine Credible- Allison Payne is the number one ranked fighter in the world and she has a long list of top fighters she’s defeated. Her record and her reputation are well deserved and she is backed by perhaps, the best coaches and training team in the sport. Allison has so much momentum right now because she will fight anybody and she has never lost. She’s been pushed and pushed and pushed, but we’ve really never seen her in any real danger of being defeated… wait, there was that one time against Glory, but Allison took Glory out with one punch. And we’re talking about Glory. Allison will go down as one of the greatest fighters to ever live, but I don’t think she’s going to win this fight. Rachel Apache has taken out more undefeated fighters than Allison; Rachel has beaten more hall of famers who were in their prime when they faced her than Allison has.

Riptor was running around saying Rachel was afraid of him; the fans were thinking she was ducking him… she beat him. Ricochet was saying Rachel wouldn’t fight her and that Rachel was a spoiled brat… Rachel won. Prophecy went on that run of victories; Death was a force of nature; Alicia Christmas was in a renaissance in her comeback to fighting; Isis Jones was supposed to be a phenom, and the Reaper was indestructible… they all said Rachel was afraid or Rachel was a spoiled brat who didn’t defend her belt against worthy opponents… but Rachel beat all of them. And she didn’t just beat them; she completely outclassed them. I remember the first time I faced Rachel in a match and I really thought I was hot stuff; I got my ass kicked… high flying is my game and she kept me on the mat. That’s why I think she’ll beat Allison; Allison’s trainers think for her, but Rachel thinks for herself. And don’t think she doesn’t want this fight or she doesn’t want to win it. I think she does want to beat the hell out of Allison because Rachel’s ego is too big for her not to want to win and add Allison‘s name to her own list of victims.
*****

Serenity- Has Rachel ever really lost? Think about that for a second. She “lost” to Nikky Smalls, but she had to lose 14 pounds on short notice due to a stupid stipulation and she was dehydrated. Then, when she “lost” that first fight to Glory, Marie B. had hit her in the head with a chair earlier that night and Rachel had gotten stitches and was still woozy. Then, she “lost” to Jasmine… but that may have had more to do with the stipulations of the best 2 of 3 falls match. Rachel won the first fall, but the second fall was win by submission only. Rachel knocked Jasmine unconscious twice during that fall and Jasmine had to be reawakened; had the stipulations been different, Rachel wouldn’t have lost that fall and there wouldn’t have been a third fall for her to lose because she would’ve already won the match. And then, she “lost” to Samantha, but only after she had a Last Woman Standing match with Glory and Samantha cashed in her “Get a Title Shot” any time clause right after she came down to the ring and hit Rachel in the stomach with a sledgehammer.

So, Rachel hasn’t truly been beaten when she’s at her best. I don’t doubt Allison Payne, but if both fighters come in with no foolishness and at their best, which they probably will, Rachel wins. Rachel has struggled against defensive fighters like Nikky and Samantha; she has issues with the elusive styled fighters… Allison Payne is not that kind of fighter; she’ll be there to hit all night long. As for how she’s been fighting lately, I think Rachel hasn’t felt really challenged as of late. But she’ll be getting up for this fight because it means a lot to her. And people say Rachel has gotten lucky in some of her last few fights… if that’s the case, then Allison got lucky against Glory.
*****

Christina Munoz- The reason why Rachel is going to get her ass kicked is because of her ego. She’s the type of person who thinks she knows everything and doesn’t change with the rest of the world. I’ve fought both of these women and Allison is willing to learn and she gets better with every fight. The Allison that you guys don’t see on television is humble and caring, but she’s also got a mind like a sponge and can make adjustments during the fight and she doesn‘t go against her trainers. Rachel fights the same way and she’s predictable and questions her husband‘s training methods, but I don‘t blame her because he did leave her that first time because he doesn‘t want her fighting anymore. If you need a sports analogy, it’s like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Manning is a robot; he can execute as long as things are as they’re supposed to be, and he can read defenses and figure out what’s going to happen… but if it doesn’t happen, he can’t adjust in the middle of the play and he‘ll fuck up constantly and blame everyone but himself… Tom Brady can adjust; Michael Vick can adjust; Joe Montana could adjust. That’s why Brady is better.

Rachel knocked Nikky down and didn’t think Nikky would get up… and when Nikky got up, Rachel didn’t adjust and she lost. Rachel had Glory in the sharpshooter and when Glory broke free, Rachel couldn‘t adjust and she lost. Rachel thought she would run right through Jasmine, and when Jasmine didn’t submit and got stronger as the fight went on, Rachel couldn’t adjust and she lost. And she thought she would come to my apartment and to my office and beat me up, but when she saw how strong and fast I was, she couldn’t adjust and she lost. Yeah, she beat me this last time; I can admit it, but she doesn’t know how to adjust and she will lose this fight. Look at the adversity Allison has faced in her fights and how she’s adjusted and won. And that’s the difference; Allison has had to adjust to changes in her real life and she’s used to it. Rachel is not because she expects everyone to break under her will. The question won’t be if Rachel will lose; it’ll be how much punishment she takes before her husband throws the towel in on her or she just flat out quits. Personally, I think Angelo wants to train Rachel for this fight so that he can assure Rachel gets beaten so badly, that she won’t want to ever fight again and they can make more babies.

To be continued…. Next Time: Rachel Apache and Allison Payne come face to face for only the second time, as they do appearances in both Allison’s hometown of New Orleans and go to New York City, where Rachel has a humungous fan base. Rachel goes back to Japan to visit and train with her old master, Bushido, to gain insight into what may be her greatest challenge while Allison’s camp goes to Haiti to train and Allison gets a big surprise when Rachel‘s estranged sister Lady Jasmine, visits Allison in Haiti. And the location of the fight is finally settled. Predictions on the fight are welcome.

Rachel vs Allison will be at Fed Ex Field in Washington DC. Marie vs Samantha will be in Philadelphia. Gemma Rox will get a title shot in London, but in the meantime, Gemma may be getting a crack at Justine Credible.

WOO HOO!!!! great build up!!! I'm feeling tense already! once again you've fitted in a large cast of characters adding all sorts of dimensions to what could have been a simple two character plot. it's that attention to detail and flurishing moments I love! can't wait for more!!!

I'm paranoid and needy. So I think people are talking about me, but not as much as I'd like.

Japan… Rachel Apache is standing with her feet slightly apart on a small branch… she eyes the snow on the cliff and land the branch is connected to; she looks up at the blue sky and looks down at the ground immediately below, hundreds of feet below the branch, then she looks around at the mountains that surround the valley below her. Rachel is calm as she gives away a rare childlike smile to Bushido, the long black haired martial arts master who trained her way back when she was a small child up through adolescence.

Rachel- You know, I remember you’d make us sit Indian style on these little branches. I remember thinking that even if I fell, you’d save me. It’s a different feeling than right now.

Bushido- How so?

Rachel- It’s different because if I fall, I know how to save myself. I have to admit, I questioned your methods back then, but only to myself. I never really saw the point of this exercise. But I understand it now.

Bushido- You have grown into one of my most accomplished students and one of my most impressive people. But you are still a child at heart.

Rachel- Yes. I was fearless when I was younger, but now, I’ve never been more afraid coming into a fight.

Bushido- Why?

Rachel- (sighing) It isn’t my opponent. I know in my heart that I am a better fighter than she is and I know that I can defeat anyone I set my sights on. It’s that I don’t want to be defeated. I don’t want to go through all of the training and the preparation and Angelo’s constant “just trust me” approach and then, I get in that cage and lose.

Bushido- That’s nothing new. You have always feared defeat. (Rachel lowers her head) But to reject the possibility is to ignore it. You are a great fighter, but you are stubborn; you are inconsiderate; you refuse to reconcile with your own losses and you hide your true person within being the fighter. But life is not fought in a cage or a ring; it is fought within. Your greatest battle is a three way battle among the person others think you are, the person you think you are, and the person you really are.

Rachel- I feel beaten, Master. I feel as though she and her trainer have beaten me, beaten my spirit. I feel weak. They shrug me off and talk of me as if I have done nothing.

Bushido- You have done nothing… to them. Do you think that they don’t see it? Do you think they don’t see the sad look inside of you, underneath your mask of stoicism?

Rachel- It’s getting out of hand… it’s reaching a point where it’s not a fight anymore… it’s becoming personal; it’s becoming about my legacy.

Bushido- Your legacy as what? A fighter, or a person? If they are attacking your legacy as a fighter, then you will fight, and whether you are defeated or not, you will have proven them wrong because you fought what they claimed you feared. If they are attacking your legacy as a person, how would they know what kind of person you are? And more importantly, why would you allow that to affect you?

Rachel doesn’t answer… her eyes wiggle around as she tries to think of something to say.

Bushido- You will not always be a fighter; you are not always a fighter… you are not fighting right now, are you? But you will always be a person and only you know what kind of person you truly are. One day, there will be no more rings and cages or titles for you; one day you will only be Rachel.

Rachel- A woman I met, Gemma Rox… Angelo has brought her in to train with me. She visited my opponent’s training camp and she told us everything. She said not only did they know she was coming to help me train, they didn’t seem concerned at all. Master, I fear they know something about me… they know a weakness, a flaw, and they will exploit it and it will be my downfall.

Bushido- Do you know all of your weaknesses?

Rachel- I believe I do.

Bushido- Then why are you concerned? They can only know what you show them. Everyone who has met you can figure out that the person inside of you is not the same as the one you project in public. They know this. As arrogant as you can be in front of a camera, if I thought you were that way inside, I would never speak to you until you were broken in training. If you feel as though you will be beaten, do not shame yourself by fighting. If you are prepared to fight, accept that you can lose, and train yourself not to.

Rachel- I feel so clouded right now.

Bushido- How much this means to you will show in your preparation.

Allison and her entire team are jogging through Haiti with Cutter leading the way. Many of the Haitian people are following and cheering on the crew, and Allison’s eyes are focused solely on what is ahead of her. Allison has been here a few days now and has toured the earthquake ravaged nation, seen so much damage, and talked to so many people. Allison has donated more than one million dollars to the region and has even helped build several new homes. It has been more than a year since the earthquake, but just like New Orleans is still recovering from Hurricane Katrina more than five years later, Haiti is still recovering from the earthquake. Allison has seen so many people who’ve suffered more than she could ever imagine and has heard their stories, shedding plenty of tears. She has walked these streets and jogged here wearing a pair of old blue jeans, a white Michael Jackson t-shirt, sneakers and a baseball cap. In her headset, reggae music and music more common in Haiti is playing, but it is often interrupted by Rachel‘s voice, with various soundbites from her interviews about various opponents and about her life being chopped up and edited into one strong message: “Allison Payne, you will not beat me; you are the filth of this earth, a pale imitation of a real fighter, an overrated joke. Allison Payne, I will end you and send you back to the poorhouse. I don‘t need to say your name because your name has no value. I don‘t like you; I don‘t respect you; I don‘t believe in you. You‘re a phony little shit.” Allison recognizes parts of the clips as being things that Rachel said about Glory and Siena Blaze, but after a while, it blends itself in. The team comes to a stop at a stretch of dry flat dirt.

Cutter- Do you all know what this is? Do you know what was here?

No one answers.

Cutter- This was a cemetery. There were small headstones and crosses here, but now, there is nothing, no markers to identify or state that those who died here ever existed. This is the only constant… death. Throughout history, there has been this constant fight for something called “freedom.” People have wound up here in the pursuit of freedom and this nation was founded because of a group’s desire to be freed from an emperor’s rule. But what is freedom? Are the people buried here free? Or are they slaves to the void of indifference and the forgotten? Or does having a name make you a slave? What does your name mean and does it define the person you are? The name Allison means “noble kind” and the name Rachel means “little lamb.” Does any of it have any meaning at all? It’s about how you live and what is inside of you… Allison Payne and all of you are noble kind because you are the truth and you live for the betterment of others. A lamb only follows its sheep herder… or a dog. When a lamb is in danger, she hides among the larger sheep. Those who are of a noble kind fear nothing and act accordingly. Inside of every person, there are too dogs fighting. One is a smart good dog and the other is a very intelligent, but evil dog. Which dog wins the fight?

Allison- The one you feed the most.

Cutter- (smiling) You remember the chief telling us this when we went to Canada. Good. Let’s all sit together, all of us, including those of you who have joined us. (speaking in French) Come, my friends!! Sit with us!! Let us eat in honor of those who have gone on to freedom!

Allison is surprised at how many people have joined them and spends the next two hours, eating and meditating with her new friends. When she leaves, she goes back to camp and showers, then changes to an aqua green dress and a pair of open toed gold and green shoes. She’s all made up and she’s wearing her curly red shoulder length hair down as she goes out, is picked up and brought to a restaurant near the shore. She is seated and has a lemon iced tea before looking forward and seeing the person who’s come to visit her. The 5’9” 140 lb Jasmine Raheid, the estranged sister to Rachel Apache who is known for her skin tight green outfits with masks, her submissions style of fighting and her toughness for having bloody epic matches, her reputation of never injuring an opponent, and also known as having more combined title reigns than any female fighter in history, strolls in with a smile on her Angelina Jolie face, has her long black hair down from its usual braided ponytail, her emerald green eyes are full of life, and she is in an emerald green dress with green heels with no backs on the shoes. Allison stands and extends her hand, but Jasmine waves it off and gives Allison a hug. Jasmine’s smile is broad and it shows her dimples as she speaks with a soft humble voice with enough of an accent to be exotic, but enough of a humbleness to make her the most down to earth person on the planet.

Allison- I didn’t know what to order you, so I ordered you water.

Jasmine- That is fine. I wanted to tell you that I am beyond honored that you have helped with the relief effort here and I am so humbled by everything you’ve done. As an ambassador for the United Nations, I will make sure that you receive some sort of award for this.

Allison- You know it’s not about that with me.

Jasmine- I do, but we want to recognize as many great humanitarians as we can. You and your team have been doing a great deal of work and I know you guys are busy getting ready for your fight.

Allison- Yeah, you and I are going to be fighting after.

Jasmine- It’s going to be an honor facing you, Allison. You are truly a great fighter.

Allison- I wish I could find something about you to hate, but I can’t. It’s a business though. So, tell me what it’s like behind the scenes in OPW, ha ha.

Jasmine- I thought you were going to ask me about “someone else.”

Allison- (smiling broadly) Nope. I don’t want you to put me in an octopus hold on the table (both laugh). I just remember reading that you’ve got a lot of stories to tell about life on tour in OPW. I never really understood how you could be so tough in the ring, but so humble outside of it. I guess I kinda do now.

Jasmine- I like your game, Allison. I like the way you fight. And I think people underestimate how tough you are because you don’t allow anyone to stay up long enough to find out. I see you with the mean faces and the casual dress, but seeing you like this, you’re a very good person and you’re capable. I can tell.

Allison- I do what I gotta do.

Jasmine- When I talk about that, I like to order a drink that is a little stronger than water, ah ha ha ha ha.

Allison- Waitress!! Cocktails!

Jasmine- Don’t you think you shouldn’t be drinking tonight, with your training?

Allison- I’ve got tomorrow off. I’m thinking about going to the beach and just catching up on my reading. I haven’t been much of a drinker since I started training with Cutter’s Camp, but I’d love having drinks with you.

Jasmine- (smiling) I’m going to have to tell Glory about this the next time I see her.

Allison- (drinking and laughing) Now see! You brought Glory up, but I was nice enough not to say that other person’s name.

Jasmine- But that’s because you didn’t want me to put you in the octopus hold, remember?

Both women laugh loudly and Allison and Jasmine spend much of the night talking about each other’s lives and a various list of topics and issues, including utilitarian philosophy and Plato’s “The Republic”… but neither woman mentions Rachel. The two hug and walk out holding hands and holding each other up, pausing to take photographs as the paparazzi and fans get a glimpse at the two superstars of the fighting world. They go to a reggae concert together and dance, then the very next morning, they have breakfast and Allison joins Jasmine as she meditates on the beach… but not once is the name “Rachel” said.
*****

Love- Stop it, Gemma. That’s enough.

Gemma- Fuck you, Love! You don’t know what that little bitch put me through!

Beth- If you call my sister that one more time, Gemma, I’m going to put you down.

Sage- Let’s all just settle down, okay?

Roxy- If ya ask me, this is pretty darn amusin’!

Marie B’s arrival at Rachel’s home in Boulder, Colorado, to train with her friend and prepare for her fight with Samantha in Philadephia has caused some of the other women a bit of anger… but none more than Gemma Rox. Nikky Smalls has arrived as well. The 5’6” 140 lb Nikky is a brown skinned African American who has won three boxing titles, three gold medals, and was the first person to beat Rachel in a sanctioned fight. But Nikky, despite her wonderful personality and million dollar smile, remembers a comment Marie made after Nikky’s brutal loss to Allison. Marie called Nikky “soft” after Nikky abandoned her strategy of sticking and moving, to brawl with Allison and was knocked down six times before her corner threw in the towel. Marie said that her friend Kayla would destroy Nikky without even touching her; Kayla would beat Nikky by hurting her feelings. So, when Samantha approached Nikky about helping her train for a fight with Kayla, Nikky was more than happy to teach Sam how to box more efficiently and how to use the Philly Shell defense. Samantha would win her match with Kayla.

Serenity is also here, as earlier mentioned. Serenity was one of the people who welcomed Marie when the little blonde first got to OPW and was feuding with Siena. But after Siena humbled Marie in an “I Quit” match, Marie joined Siena’s side, dismissing Serenity and calling her a “muttonhead,” but refusing to face her in a match. Ultimately at Calgary Carnage, Marie won Serenity’s Television Title in a three way Ladder Match with Serenity and Sage. Serenity and Marie never resolved their issues, the way Marie and Rachel’s youngest sister Sage have, after Sage was attacked by Christina Munoz and hung from a steel beam, only for Marie to betray Rachel and join Christina, only to get kicked out of her stable. But Gemma Rox has a feud with Marie going that is only eclipsed by Marie’s feud with Samantha. Since the moment Marie and her twin sister Beth walked in, Gemma has been taking verbal shots at Marie and Beth has been restrained from attacking Gemma in response… Marie sort of laughs it off.

Gemma- That’s right; keep laughing, you little dwarf… keep fucking laughing!

Love- This is how you act in someone else’s house? She was your coach for how many months? And you’re still going on and on about all that other stuff?

Gemma- Screw you, Love! You have no idea what--

Love- You’re right, and I don’t give a shit either. But that’s not the point. If you want to be one of the good guys, if you want to help Rachel and help yourself, you need to save that shit for another time. If you have a problem with Marie, don’t involve all of us and certainly don’t bring it here.

Gemma- You know Love, one day, you and I are gonna really have it out. And you’re gonna be knocked right on your arse!

Love- Yeah, Happy Early Valentine’s Day to you too, Gemma.

Nikky puts her arm around Gemma and leads her to the ring and the two spar for a bit. Gemma’s style of fighting with her hard hooks and combinations differs from Nikky’s Sugar Ray Leonard smiling, stick and move, jumping in and out style. When Gemma gets Nikky on the ropes, she hammers Nikky’s ribs, while Nikky covers up or counters with her defense, but when they are at center ring, Nikky’s constant moving and surprise hitting Gemma, then landing combinations that may literally be lightening fast, switching from an orthodox stance to a southpaw stance, dancing and jumping in with a surprise hook or a lead right, the constant jabs to the pit of the stomach, and Gemma can’t quite figure the slightly taller girl out. Nikky is very difficult to land a punch on, and Gemma sees that and understands why Samantha is so hard to hit, but she keeps coming and coming, cutting the ring off and making Nikky groan from the body shots.

Gemma has certainly been getting along with the other girls and Rachel’s husband Angelo since her arrival, with the exception of Love and Marie, but all of the girls have been getting a lot of sparring and training in… and a lot of eating. Rachel has been cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner for her guests and has been more talkative and more of a listener too, even joining the girls and her husband in karaoke while her daughter watches on. But Rachel Apache in training is as she should be, all business. One thing the other girls have noticed about Rachel though, is that she’s getting hit a lot more in sparring and may even lay on the ropes and keep her guard up, absorbing hard shots to her ribs and side. Gemma observed a sparring session between Rachel and Love where Love dominated Rachel with striking, but Rachel seemed unaffected when it was over for a moment, then she dropped down on her butt and had about three bottles of water.

Love- What was that, Rachel?

Rachel- What was what?

Love- What are you thinking about, if you don’t mind me asking, because you didn’t do anything in that round.

Rachel- Training my body to take punishment.

Love- Bull… shit.

Rachel- Don’t use that language when speaking to me.

Love- Why do you have to be so damn secretive though? I’ve known you since I was eleven years old. What hold does this fight have on you, Rachel?

Rachel- It has no hold on me; I have a hold on it.

Love- Forgive me for saying so, but it sure doesn’t look that way.

Rachel- (walking to the elevator) Not to you, but know this, my former pupil… I always know what I am doing. I’m going to change; if anyone needs me, I will be hunting.

Love- I don’t doubt you, Rachel; I’m just concerned. I have a right to be.

Rachel and Allison are standing only a few inches apart as the flashbulbs pop. Welcome to the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana with Mardi Gras season right around the corner as a stop on the Rachel Apache vs. Allison Payne press tour comes to Allison’s hometown and the fans who are allowed into the Superdome are chanting her name. Allison is staring into Rachel’s eyes, searching for eye contact, but the taller Rachel is looking passed Allison, into the eyes of Allison’s trainer, General Cutter. Allison has only spoken directly to Rachel once, and Rachel ignored. Both women just finished filming a commercial for the fight, but did not share scenes in the commercial. They are both dressed in their fight attire, with Rachel wearing her usual purple sports bra, matching shorts and white Nike wrestling shoes, showing off her Wonder Woman figure, her six pack abs and her trademarked navel that doesn’t stick in or out. Allison is dressed in a blood red sports bra, blood red shorts with “Nightmare” in black droppings on the waistband, and black boots with blood red trim and strings. Both fighters look like they are in great shape.

Allison- (very softly) I just want to let you know… I love you. I still do. There would be no me without you. I was just a kid on the streets here, living from day to day with nothing to inspire me until I saw you on tv and it changed my---

Rachel- (still not making eye contact and talking to Cutter) She… embarrasses me. She embarrasses herself.

Allison- (Rachel is now staring up at the ceiling) Why won’t you talk to me? I’m right in front of you. Why do you keep avoiding me?

Rachel- I hardly ever look down. I keep my eyes on what is above me and the only time I look at the filth beneath me is so I don’t trip. And I don’t see anything in front of me worth looking at.

Allison- So, you’re saying that I’m filth and that I’m nothing? (shaking her head up and down and balling up her fists) Okay… I’m nothing. I’ll remember you said that.

Rachel- (turning and walking away) I am done with this.

Rachel and her husband leave while Allison and Cutter stay to answer questions.

Angelo- Didn’t feel like hanging around?

Rachel- (while changing back into her street clothes) What difference does it make what I say? I showed up, and that is all that matters. They are booing me; they are going to try to engage me in some sort of argument… I do not need this. Let me be the bad guy here, if that is what they want.

Angelo- You sound pretty upset, sweetheart.

Rachel- I AM upset. I do not like these press conferences; I am being asked the same stupid questions over and over again. I do not see the point.

Angelo- You look gorgeous, by the way.

Rachel- Tell that to those vampire reporters out there who keep asking me if I am afraid of her.

Angelo- Come on, honey. The Hornets are playing the Nuggets tonight. I know you like your Denver Nuggets; I got us courtside seats.

Rachel- Fine. I’m glad you’re here with me.

Two days later… Madison Square Garden is considered the Mecca of all sporting events as it sits in Manhattan, New York City, New York. Rachel Apache defeated Siena Blaze here, ending Siena’s eleven years of being undefeated and winning her first OPW World title. Rachel is hearing her own name being chanted by her fans, who have filled the arena to shout their encouragement for Rachel, who has an enormous fan following in New York, and to boo Allison, who has feuded with both Rachel and New York City native, Glory. Siena Blaze is here and is also being booed heavily as a “FUCK L.A.” has broken out. Siena was shown on the big screen here last night as the Los Angeles Lakers stomped the New York Knicks and was booed then as she is now. Siena only responds to the crowd with a smile and a chuckle. Both camps are there in full force and it’s a reunion for a lot of old friends and former opponents. Siena hugs her former pupil, Misty Storm, and former opponents Nikky Smalls and Allison Payne share a hug and a laugh as Nikky cracks a couple of jokes. Both fighters take turns stepping to the podium as Rachel makes her statement.

Rachel- For years, I’ve had to listen to all of these people saying that I’m a coward and that I’m afraid and that I’ve lost a step and that I’m not the best. Well, Rachel Apache isn’t afraid of anything or anyone and in Washington D.C., everyone will find out. (crowd cheers) In one night, I will erase all the criticism; I will erase all the negativity; I will erase all of these stupid press releases and catcalls, because in Washington D.C., I will erase my opponent. (crowd cheers) Because I am the best there is, the best there was…

Siena- Wait for it… wait for it…

Rachel turns and looks angrily at Siena, who shrugs her shoulders.

Rachel- And the best there ever will be, and New York City, you know it! (crowd cheers)

The crowd is lively and starts chanting Rachel’s name as Allison gets behind the podium.

Allison- … (crowd is booing loudly, shouting Rachel’s name) I’m going to be brief and I’m going to be blunt. I am here. I am ready. I am waiting.

Siena- We’re going to open the floor to questions.

Frankie J.- Allison, what do you think of Nikky Smalls being a part of Rachel’s camp?

Allison- Not too much. We weren’t all that concerned with who was in her training camp; it was well known. I like Nikky, but Nikky is 0-3 against me. She fought me herself and lost. She helped Glory prepared for me, and Glory lost. She helped train Samantha to fight me, and Samantha lost. So, Nikky’s a great person and a great fighter, but the fight is Rachel Apache vs. Allison Payne and Nikky can’t fight for Rachel just like Misty can’t fight for me.

Kimberly Chaucer- Rachel, we can study tape of Allison and the way she fights, but she is undefeated and has looked good in all of her fights. How do you prepare for a fighter like Allison when she hasn’t shown any weaknesses?

Rachel- I maximize my strengths. There are some definite weaknesses, not that you would notice them, Kimberly.

And then, the crowd goes wild as the 6’2” 170 lb Rosario Dawson looking Glory stands up, surprising both Rachel and Allison with a smile. Glory has her long curly black hair down from its usual Mohawk, has on a lighter shade of lipstick, is wearing eyeglasses and a tan dress, fitting her desirable figure well. The crowd chants her name and she turns and bows, waving at her fans in her city. Rachel sits back in her chair and folds her arms, staring daggers at her rival and the current number one contender for Rachel’s OPW World Title. Allison gives a disgusted grin and shakes her head from side to side.

Glory- I have a question for both of you. There’s been a lot of back and forth with insults between your camps. Allison, your trainer has badmouthed Rachel and confronted her in front of her three year old daughter and the press releases you guys have put out straight up slam Rachel as a coward and a wimp, but you know she isn‘t and you‘ve repeatedly said so. Rachel, you have refused to even make eye contact with Allison and you hardly say her name, treating her as something less than human and I can tell you as a biracial woman of both Black and Puerto Rican heritages, it’s insulting and demeaning to have someone, especially someone who can come off as pompous as you can, talking about another person like she isn‘t even there and not even say her name. Yet both camps have accused the other of taking the low road when both of you are hypocrites.

Rachel- (rolling her eyes and sighing) That is not a question…

Glory- I was taking a breath. While Glory is a phenom and the destructive force of OPW, Glory does breath like everyone else.

Allison- Maybe you should quit smoking. You never met a spotlight you didn’t try to steal, huh Glory? (crowd boos; starts chanting “GLORY” while others start chanting “RACHEL”)

Glory- Ahem, I will finish. My question is… (smiling and trying not to laugh) how do you both react to what I just said?

Rachel- First of all, my husband is half African American and half Native American, so that would make my daughter multi-racial. So don’t go playing the race card with me, Glory. Don’t you ever go there with me again.

Glory- Glory will go wherever the hell she wants to go. You told me a few years back that while you were here winning your first title, I was probably around the corner shining shoes and scalping tickets. I have a feeling if I was a little blonde girl like your friend Marie over there, you wouldn’t have said that.

Rachel- (sounding legitimately angry) I said it because I knew it would hurt your feelings and if you are bringing it up now, I succeeded. This is ridiculous… to answer your stupid question… and it was stupid… I don’t care. I don’t care how anyone takes it; I don’t care if it hurts anyone’s feelings; I don’t care. I can look at and not look at whatever I deem is worthy of my gaze and if someone feels sad about that, then too bad.
Glory- Allison?

Allison- What?

Glory- Answer my question.

Allison- (standing up) Look, don’t talk to me like that. I don’t play that shit with you. You want a reaction? Here’s a reaction… kiss my ass, Glory. I’m used to being put down and ignored. You came into a bar when I was drunk and insulted me and after I knocked you out and broke your jaw, they had to carry you out of there. Then we fought in the ring after you insulted me for months and I beat you. It’s motivation; Marie B., Nikky Smalls, Samantha, Christina… hell, Siena slapped me in the face at a press conference. What happened to them when they fought me. They all lost… they all lost. And people talk more about them losing than about me winning, so I’m used to it. At the end of the day, we’re gonna fight. What happens in that ring is in our control; I can’t worry about what she or you or anyone else says about me or thinks of me.

Rachel- If she thinks words will save her, she better take a Bible into the cage with her and start praying. I admit; I’ve had difficulties getting motivated for this fight in the past and I wasn’t interested. But you have all succeeded in making me very angry. And unfortunately for my opponent, she is the one I will be taking it out on. I’m going to carve a press release of my own in her face written in her blood. In Washington D.C., “The Nightmare” ends.

Allison- This is the fight I’ve wanted and I am going to give it everything I’ve got. I’m not a catchphrase person or a cliché person; I’m a real person. Words haven’t gotten me much in life, but my abilities in the ring and the cage and the greatness of my trainers have gotten me where I am right now. I have lived abused and misused; I’ve been hurt and I’ve been knocked down. I’m not perfect; I’m just a fighter who wants to fight the best and win. I know who I’m facing; I know that she will be in the best shape and will fight her best fight. I don’t know what’s going to happen once that bell rings, but I know that I’m willing to die. Her new theme music asks the question: Are you willing to die? Yes; I am. And I know that I’m not afraid. But most importantly, I know that I’m going to fight with every ounce of me and every bit of pain and with a desire to do my best and be my best. I am a fighter; that’s what I do. I can’t talk shit; I can’t give a great interview; I can’t cut promos and catchphrases. I can fight.
****
Predictions

Glory- Wow, this is really a huge fight and there’s a lot at stake. If Rachel wins, she reminds the world one more time why she says she’s the best. If Allison wins, then she puts a big exclamation point on the greatest run of wins there ever has been and rides into her match against Jasmine with all the momentum in the world. Either way this goes, I can’t see Rachel or Allison getting dominated and stopped in short order. They both took some of my best shots and kept coming and they both are too smart and too strong to allow themselves to get wiped out on such a big stage. I think this could become a very brutal fight because Rachel will be looking to batter Allison with Allison’s trainer watching and bloody her up. Allison has something to prove to Rachel and is going to try and force Rachel to respect her. But if you have to press me for a prediction… I’ve got to go with Rachel. I grew up watching her and being inspired by her and one thing I remember as a child was that I never bet against Rachel Apache. She finds a way to win the biggest fights on the biggest stages, or she fights her heart out until she can’t fight any more. The woman always has a plan, and no matter what anyone says about her being afraid, I’ve never seen her run away from anyone she’s fought. If Allison wins this, I know I’m going to hear her mouth about what I said, but she of all people should know that this is the biggest fight of her career and if she makes one mistake, she’s done.

Siena Blaze- They say the worst thing a fighter can do is get civilized. It takes a certain edge and ability to keep fighting after getting married, having kids, or even after that first big check. That’s what I admire about Glory; she’s able to separate Glory the person from Glory the wrestler. I think that Rachel has a conflict inside of her, a battle between Rachel Apache and just plain ole Rachel. And I think that just plain ole Rachel is winning that battle because Rachel doesn’t sound all that interested. Her spirit is there and she’s still the most dangerous fighter on any night, but there’s something missing from her voice when she talks about this… like she’s tired of proving herself. I fought both of them and they’re both great fighters and future hall of famers. But one thing I notice about both of them is that, despite all the knockouts and submissions they’ve got between them and all those wins… they’re both kinda tentative in the opening moments and they both leave themselves open. I think that’s going to make a lot of difference in this fight. But you know what? Rachel used to be a very fast starter and against Allison Payne, that bothers me because once Allison imposes her will, it’s hard to adjust and stop her. Oh sure, Rachel can impose her will too, but Allison’s had some pretty hardcore fighters impose their will on her… and she’s won. I was really turn about this fight, but I can go on and predict Allison by knockout or stoppage. Rachel fights in my promotion and I’ve never really bet against her, but I think it’s her time.

Fed Ex Field in Washington D.C. … it’s cloudy and a brisk 38 degrees here as the cage is set up and the fans have packed the large outdoor stadium. This is it; there’s no preparation and no more talk. All that is left is to fight.

The piano into begins to “No More Pain” by the late rapper Tupac Shakur begins, and the crowd knows what time it is. Once the bass line hits, Allison comes out. Allison is 5’8”, 150 lbs, has shoulder length curly red hair and hazel eyes and looks a lot like Halle Berry did in the movie “Catwoman” before she cuts her hair midway through. Allison is wearing the usual, a blood red robe with the hood pulled over her head and she’s walking with her head down, bobbing it to the music. When Allison enters the cage, the fans cheer loudly for her as she rolls her shoulder and takes off the rope to reveal a blood red sports bra, blood red shorts with “Nightmare” in black droppings across the waistband and black boots with blood red trim and blood red strings. Allison has on black grappling gloves and looks very, very focused as she looks to the ramp entrance. One of the questions about this fight, once it was settled that Washington would be the location, was how would New Orleans native Allison handle the cold weather… she seems to be unaffected by it and looks in tip top shape.

“Silence” by Enigma plays and Rachel Apache wastes no time coming out. While this song has been Rachel’s theme music since she debuted, lately, she’s been using “You Know My Name” by Chris Cornell. With speculation that this may be Rachel’s last match, changing the music back to the original theme song seems to fit the atmosphere. Rachel is 5’11” 150 lbs, with shin long wavy black hair, midnight blue eyes, and is known as the Persian Wonder Woman because of her figure and her heritage. She is dressed in her traditional purple sports bra, matching shorts, and her Nike white wrestling shoes. Rachel is being cheered just as loudly as Allison is as she makes her way to the cage and enters, going straight to the middle of the cage, folding her arms and looking directly at Allison, who seems to almost smile at finally getting a look from Rachel and bangs her gloves together. The two fighters come together for instructions; this will be a match of seven five minute rounds. Both women understand this and Allison isn’t surprised to see Rachel staring up at the sky instead of looking at her… Rachel doesn’t do staredowns during pre-fight instructions because she doesn’t want to have mercy on her opponents… or that’s what she says. While Rachel looks at her husband and nods, Allison is also nodding as her trainer and father, General Cutter, whispers in her ear.

The bell rings for round 1 and Rachel charges out, throwing a right hand at Allison, who moves out of the way. Allison is tagged by a hard kick to her lead left leg as Rachel backs up a bit and looks angrily at her shorter foe. Rachel pops a jab that hits Allison’s raised arms before nailing Ally with another hard leg kick, a little higher on the thigh, and firing another kick to Allison’s left side as the crowd reacts and Rachel circles. Rachel is paying close attention to Allison’s stance, with her arms raised a bit and her legs slightly bent. Rachel fires another jab, but pulls back on it and throws a winging right hand that catches Allison just below her left eye, then throws a knee to Allison’s right side, but Ally blocks it, grabbing Rachel by her arms, sweeping her right leg out from under her and taking Rachel down on her back. Rachel looks to lock her legs around Allison’s waist, but Allison seems to shrug her way out of that, stands and backs up, allowing Rachel to stand back up.

Rachel’s eyes are a bit wider as she gets up and the two women resume circling each other with Allison getting a little closer. Rachel lands two jabs to Allison’s arms, then grabs her around her neck in a muay thai clinch and throws in two quick knees to Allison’s stomach, but Ally blocks them both and throws an overhead right hand that Rachel almost falls down trying to avoid. Rachel takes two steps away from Allison before stepping in and hitting her with a jab to her nose and a left hook to her right side, but Allison grabs Rachel’s left hand and the taller woman is forced to yank it back. The problem is that Allison allows herself to be pulled in with it, gets her arms around Rachel’s waist and slams her into the cage wall. Rachel is trying to work her arms under Allison’s so that she can try and turn her, but Allison starts ramming knees into Rachel’s right thigh and Rachel winces instantly. Allison is also positioning her head under Rachel’s chin so that Rachel can’t really hit the side of her head with any real force and Allison has started hitting Rachel’s left side and ribs with short right hands. Allison is really keeping Rachel pressed against the cage as Rachel glances up at the clock just as Allison turns her, lifts her, and slams her down on her back, but Rachel gets her legs around Allison’s legs as the shorter Ally starts firing punches down on Rachel’s face.

Rachel brings her legs up towards Allison’s neck, but Allison shoves Rachel’s butt and Rachel rolls to her feet just as Allison gets up and nails Rachel with a left hook to her nose and a right hand that hits her just above her left ear, staggering her. Rachel is looking for some punching and kicking room and Allison gives it to her, only to kick Rachel’s right leg very hard and take a step back as Rachel sighs. For a few moments, both women are staring at each other as Rachel is on the balls of her feet, looking to come forward with something and Allison is staring at her with her fists balled up very tight. Allison misses with a leg kick and the very moment she’s off balance, Rachel rushes in with a left right left right left right left right, all to Allison’s face as the shorter girl’s back is to the cage and she covers up. Rachel looks for another muay thai clinch, but once she sends in the first knee, Allison lifts her and slams her again. Immediately looking to slide behind Rachel for a rear naked choke, but Rachel slips out and stands. Allison is on her back with her legs raised and Rachel lands a few hard kicks to the redhead’s thighs and calves, but Allison doesn’t seem to be reacting to them. Rachel grabs Allison’s feet and looks down at her, considering the sharpshooter, but Allison shoots her right foot up and nails Rachel in the jaw.

Rachel- Unnnhhhh!!!

The crowd heard that and sees Rachel stagger as Allison gets to her feet, extends a jab at her taller opponent, but fires that deadly right hand behind it to Rachel’s chin and drops Rachel on her butt as the crowd awes as Rachel gets back to her feet, but is clearly still on wobbly legs. Rachel bends her legs and raises her arms to protect her face and ribs, but Allison fires a hard right hand that pushes Rachel’s arms apart and snaps her head back as Rachel struggles to keep her mouthpiece in and backs up. Allison fires three more right hands into Rachel’s face, splitting her guard and backing Rachel to the cage wall. Allison seems to be taking her time as Rachel takes a moment to lower her arms and look at her shorter opponent, just as Allison shoots in with a hard knee that slams into Rachel’s solar plexus and bending her.

Rachel- Uhhhh…

Rachel grabs Allison by her right arm, hooks it, turns and stomps on the back of Ally’s right knee, forcing the redhead down and jumping, wrapping her legs around Allison’s neck and arm in a triangle hold, but Ally uses Rachel’s momentum to slam her down on her back with Rachel’s head bouncing off the mat. As Allison mounts Rachel, Rachel’s face looks legitimately frustrated as she locks hooks her arms around Ally’s and wraps her legs around Allison’s body and tries to roll herself on top of the shorter girl. Rachel tightens her legs and tightens the holds she has around Ally’s arms, trying to twist them and succeeds in rolling herself on top of Allison. Rachel lets go of her hold on Allison’s arms and starts raining down accurate punches to the redhead’s face and neck. Rachel is in a punching frenzy and is punching around Allison’s guard, but Allison seems pretty calm about the assault, even if she’s taking some pretty telling shots. Allison reaches up, grabs Rachel’s head and forces it back hard.

Rachel- Ahh!!

As Rachel tries to bring her head back down, Allison allows it, locking her arms around Rachel’s left arm and neck and pressing Rachel’s chin against her shoulder in an arm triangle. Rachel is trying to break free because her air is being cut off and she releases her body scissors so that she can get a bit more leverage, but the very moment she lets Allison go, Allison locks her legs around Rachel’s waist and rolls herself back on top of the Persian fighter, adjusting her legs so that they’re hooking just below Rachel’s thighs near her knees and keeping her in place while Allison tightens that arm triangle, but Rachel’s got her left arm bent and slams a couple of short elbows to the side of Allison’s neck and in the space between the side of Ally’s neck and her collarbone. Rachel can hear Allison hissing from the shots and can feel the submission hold loosening. Rachel slams one down on Allison’s shoulder and the submission is broken, but Allison posts up and starts hitting Rachel with more ground and pound. Rachel lands a hard palm strike to Ally’s chin, almost knocking Ally’s own mouthpiece out, but Rachel is feeling blood start to run from above both her eyes and cries an uncharacteristic “AHHHH!!!” as Allison angrily slams an elbow right between Rachel’s eyes. Rachel sees her own blood squirt into Allison’s face and knows that the cuts are bad. Rachel isn’t known as a bleeder and doesn’t cut easily, but as the camera closes in on her face, you can see that she’s got a unibrow cut stretching from her left eyebrow all the way to her right one. She shoves Allison hard with a double palm strike to the redhead’s solar plexus and hears a “whoosh” sound from the redhead as she is forced off and lands on her butt.

Rachel gets to her knees and both women reach their feet as they take a moment to look at each other. Allison’s has a little swelling around her eyes already and Rachel’s got a bad cut and a big bruise on the front of her right thigh, but Allison is moving towards Rachel and Rachel nails her with a lead right hand.

Allison- Unnhh!

Rachel fires a hard hook to Allison’s stomach, just above her kinda big oval shaped innie navel that sticks in a little and Allison winces and takes a step back as Rachel comes forward, only to get floored again by an Allison straight right hand to her jaw. Rachel is literally knocked off her feet, is horizontal in midair and lands flat on her back from the force of the punch, but rolls and gets to her feet and backs up, her eyes wider and wider as Allison moves forward. There are no ropes to bounce off of, no corners to whip her to, no top turnbuckles to jump off of… this is a cage fight and Rachel is understanding that more and more; she’s been in plenty of them. She bends Allison with a jab to her stomach and circles, then another, then another, then another. Allison smiles at her. Allison and Cutter both understand what it was that Nikky Smalls was brought in to teach Rachel… Nikky uses a consistent jab to the stomach or a right hand there. Rachel lands a hard jab on Allison’s navel that freezes the taller girl as Ally lets out an “Ough!” Rachel notices the pause and steps in, hammering Allison’s ribs with lefts and rights, grabbing her head, but Allison is able to pull it out of the way of Rachel’s knee, backs up, and nails Rachel with a left hook and a right cross that put Rachel back on wobbly legs. Allison lowers her arms as Rachel raises her, fakes a body shot, and sends a right kick straight to Rachel’s mouth and dropping Rachel on her back.

Rachel- AUUGGHH!!!

Allison is standing over Rachel, who grabs her bleeding mouth and pounds the mat out of frustration while raising her legs, but Allison gets a side mount on her, dropping a left forearm smash across Rachel’s throat and keeping it there. Rachel locks her legs around Allison’s right leg, looking to turn it possibly to a heel hook or a knee bar, but Allison uses her right hand to start hammering Rachel’s left side and Rachel rolls towards Allison so that her stomach is less open, and Allison brings her body more in, looking to elbow Rachel’s stomach, but once Rachel feels Allison’s right arm getting into position, she shifts her legs around Allison’s body and her right arm, going for a leg scissors and rolling herself behind Allison while punching Allison’s right eye with her right fist. Allison is using her own body to keep Rachel on her back and unable to get to a better position and throws her left elbow back into Rachel’s side, forcing an “uhhh” from the taller woman. Finally, Allison rolls on her own back to give Rachel the mount just to scoot her right arm free of the body scissors when Rachel shifts her body and Allison forces a loud “Ooohhhhh!!!!” from Rachel with a hard right forearm to the taller girl’s temple as Rachel is knocked off of her and lands on her right side.

Rachel is able to get to her hands and knees as Allison starts ramming knees into Rachel’s left side as the concerned faces of Rachel’s friends and supporters are shown. Rachel is able to extend her left leg out and kick Allison’s thigh, forcing the redhead to fall to her own hands and knees. Rachel goes to Allison and hooks Allison’s head under her left arm in a guillotine, then tries to slide under her for a body scissors, but Allison grabs Rachel around the waist, pulls her to her feet, and runs, ramming Rachel’s back into the cage and her shoulder into Rachel’s stomach, forcing an “mmmph” from Rachel, then Allison throws Rachel over her head in what would be considered a northern lights suplex, but when Allison lets it go, Rachel flips herself and lands on her feet and the crowd is surprised as Rachel charges at Allison, throwing a hard left hook that Allison ducks under before clipping Rachel’s own chin with a hook of her own, and a straight right to the middle of Rachel’s stomach.

Rachel- Uggghhh…uhhh…uhhh…

Rachel is doubled over, and when she tries to stand herself back up, she can’t fully do it and looks as if she’s going to vomit. Allison stalks Rachel slowly and carefully, narrowing her eyes as Rachel is backed against the cage wall and is watching Allison closely. Rachel feints a right hand and Allison feints a right kick; Rachel’s eyes go to Allison’s leg for a moment before Allison fires a hard straight right hand that hits Rachel between the eyes, straightens her up and sends blood and sweat flying off of her as she grabs Allison with her left arm and wipes her face with her right hand. Allison resumes nailing Rachel’s right thigh with more knees and locks on a muay thai clinch, punishing Rachel’s ribs with more knees before dropping Rachel to her knees with a knee just below her navel.

Rachel- OUGH!!!

Hardly anyone in the stadium has heard this much groaning and moaning from Rachel as Allison grabs her by her head, pulls her back up and throws three more devastating knees to her stomach.

Rachel- GUUUUH!!! OOOUGH!!! OHHHH!!!

Rachel breaks the clinch and fires some punches, but Allison moves straight back, before firing a hard kick that slams into Rachel’s right side, just below her armpit. Rachel responds with an angry, but desperate high kick that hits Ally’s right hand as the shorter girl raises it to protect the right side of her head, but Rachel moves in and lands a straight right hand to Allison’s stomach, right above the navel.

Allison- Omph!

Allison grins at Rachel and tightens her fists, almost as if to invite Rachel to exchange strikes with her, but Rachel charges forward, gets her arms under Allison and throws her on her back, but Allison is locking her legs around Rachel’s neck and left arm, looking for a modified triangle hold while grabbing Rachel’s right arm and bending it back in a kimura, but Rachel sees this coming and powers out of it, standing and backing off. Allison gets to her feet and Rachel lands another hard straight jab and straight right to Allison’s stomach, forcing Allison to groan out an “Oughhh!!” and take a deep breath, but continue to come forward while Rachel sighs and cracks Allison with a hard right hand to her nose.

Allison- Uhh!!

Allison nods at Rachel to acknowledge Rachel got her while her guard was a little low and Allison’s nose is bleeding as the women stop circling. Rachel throws another right hand that misses, but Allison throws a hard submarine right hand on Rachel’s navel, sticking her middle knuckle out and twisting her fist on impact.

Rachel- AAAYEEEEE!!!! Uhhh…uhhhh….uhhhh…

Rachel’s eyes shed tears as the entire stadium gasps upon hearing a woman known for her stoicism and lack of in ring emotion, groaning and screaming. Rachel doesn’t feel her legs and goes up on her toes while doubled over, backing herself towards the cage wall. But Allison’s eyes get big once she hears the scream and grabs Rachel’s head, looking to knee the Persian in the side of the head and end it… but the bell rings. Rachel’s husband Angelo rushes into the ring, puts his arm around Rachel and guides her to the corner as Allison wipes the blood from her face, looks at it, gives a near grin as if she’s impressed, and sits in her corner.

Cutter- Great job, Ally. You completely dominated that round and dominated her. Keep the guard up and tight and remember how dangerous she is when she’s hurt.

Allison- If I had thirty more fuckin’ seconds, we’d be giving an interview right now.

Cutter- But that’s fine. Ignore the screaming too; stay cautious; stay focused as always. She’s attacking from angles and using that body attack; just keep up with the strategy.

Meanwhile, Angelo is rubbing his wife’s stomach as her head is down and tears are running from her eyes.

Rachel- That was the worst round of my career.

Angelo- It actually wasn’t, sweetheart. So she’s strong… we knew that. So she has a ground game… we knew that too. You’re in this fight and I need more out of you than what you gave in that last round. The only reason why you lost the round was because you let her win and you let her control the fight. Fight your fight; impose your will.

Round 2

Allison is looking menacing and staring at Rachel, who’s eyes are wide and mouth still partially open as she looks back. The bell rings and Allison comes to center cage while Rachel has her arms a little lower than before, very careful in guarding her stomach. Rachel lands a hard leg kick to Allison’s left knee, then a double leg kick to the same spot as Rachel attempts a spin kick to Allison’s stomach, but the Black girl circles to her left as Rachel turns and gets her arms around Rachel’s waist, but Rachel breaks free before Ally can take her down and shoves Allison back a few steps before landing a kick to the side of Allison’s head that staggers the shorter girl and causes her to raise her arms.

Allison- Arrgghhh!!!

Rachel studies this change and sees that Allison now has a pretty good sized cut from the corner of her left eye to just above her ear. Allison is back in her stance and Rachel jabs her to the pit of the stomach, circling to Allison’s right and landing an even harder jab to the same spot. Rachel is probably the most accurate striker in female fighting history and she shows it by landing three fast hooks to Allison’s liver, a straight right to Ally’s nose that snaps her head back, a left hook to Allison’s jaw, a knee to her stomach that doubles her over into Rachel’s patented hybrid hook/uppercut punch that crashes into her jaw, but Allison fires back with a hard hook to Rachel’s ribs, a hook to her jaw, but misses an overhand right as Rachel moves her head out of the way, but stuns Rachel with another hook to the point of the Persian’s chin.

Rachel- Unnhh!!

Rachel raises her arms and Ally drives a knee into her stomach, just above the navel, forcing a loud, “Hunnhh!!!” from Rachel, who’s legs instantly buckle and she wraps her arms around Allison’s waist. Allison can hear Rachel’s breathing slowing down, so she bangs Rachel’s left side with several hard right hands and drives more short knees into the taller woman’s right thigh. Rachel violently turns and judo throws Allison to the mat, turning and getting behind her, locking her legs around her waist, and looking for a full nelson, which she succeeds in getting. Rachel shifts and turns Allison on her left side, with Rachel’s legs locked underneath her; Rachel pins Allison’s left arm underneath and maintains an arm lock with her left arm, then proceeds to fire right hands into Allison’s bleeding face. Rachel’s speed and accuracy are perfect as she lights up Ally’s face with twenty two right hands, but Allison powers her own right arm free and brings in down on the side of Rachel’s head, forcing an “Unnhh!” from Rachel as she goes down on her right side and Allison tries to mount her, but Rachel gets her feet on Ally’s stomach and pushes her back. Both women rise, but Rachel is immediately dropped on her back with a hard right cross. Allison is bleeding badly from her face, but she sneers and dives on Rachel, who’s eyes are widened and the Rachel struggles to keep Allison from securing a mount while glancing at her husband and shaking her head from side to side and rolling her eyes while sighing.

Rachel is holding Allison in a guillotine choke with a leg scissors, but can’s secure it fully because Allison is hammering her ribs with rights and legs. Finally, Rachel sighs deeply and releases the choke, lying flat on her back and raising her arms as Allison gets the mount and begins to slam shot after shot into Rachel’s stomach, forcing Rachel’s eyes to strain as the get wider and wider and air and being blown out of her. Allison can hear Rachel moaning, though the crowd can’t because Rachel is losing her voice because of the beating she’s taken… this only makes Allison hit her hard and faster as Rachel sighs deeply and tries to roll Allison off, but Allison drops a forearm across Rachel’s nose and Rachel lets out a very loud “OWWW!!!” and covers her nose with both hands as Allison nails her in the stomach with a double elbow to either side of her navel, forcing Rachel to sit up with an “OOUUGGHH!!!” Rachel can’t get her legs back around Allison and she’s bleeding all over her face while Allison is bleeding all over her. Neither of these fighters is known for bleeding, but midway through Round 2, they’ve both suffered several awful lacerations. Rachel fires a hard right hand that digs deeply into Allison’s side and she hears Allison give a long exhale and Rachel puts her hands on Allison’s shoulders and shoves her off.

Rachel gets to her feet, but is surprised when Allison is up just as quickly as the crowd shows their approval. Allison misses on a right hand and a left hook, but hurts Rachel with a kick to her liver as Rachel lets out an “ugghh” and bends, favoring her side just as Allison knocks her further back with a right hand just above Rachel’s left ear and forces Rachel to grit her teeth and shake violently from a second right that hits her just below her heart. Rachel is backing up slowly, her mouth is open and her eyes are weary; Allison is stalking her as Rachel’s back is close to the cage wall. Allison comes forward, but Rachel sidesteps and throws the hardest hook she can muster into Allison’s liver, and as Ally doubles over, Rachel nails her with a left hook to her jaw.

Allison- Uggghhhh!!!!… UNNHHH!!!

Allison is dropped flat on her back and Rachel’s face makes a momentary expression of surprise as she moves in on Allison, but Allison gets right back up. Rachel’s head gets snapped back as she moves in and eats a hard jab to her aching nose, but gets Ally in a muay thai clinch and starts driving hard knees into Allison’s stomach, each one forcing a loud “OUGH!!” or “OOH!!!” from the shorter girl as Rachel can feel Allison softening, but doesn’t feel her weakening. Rachel pulls Allison’s head close and nails her face with a knee, forcing an “ARRGGHH!!” from Allison as she holds Rachel and almost goes down again. Rachel is firing shot after shot after shot into Allison’s face and working on those cuts, but Allison spins Rachel and pins her against the cage wall, kneeing her right thigh and driving a knee deep into Rachel’s belly that forces an “uhh” from Rachel as she drops to the mat in a fetal position. Allison mounts Rachel, but Rachel grabs Allison’s arm and bends it behind her in a kimura, so Allison rolls to prevent it and ends up on her back with Rachel on top, but Allison kicks Rachel off and gets to her feet. Rachel nails Allison with a left hook to the jaw, a right cross to her nose, busting it open badly now, a right hand to Allison’s swelling left eye, a front kick to the stomach that doubles the shorter girl over with an “OUGH!!”

Allison’s legs buckle, but she nails Rachel with a right to her nose and Rachel steps back, then gets hurt with a right hand to her navel. Rachel’s back is against the cage and Allison jumps in with a knee, but Rachel moves and Allison bangs her left knee against the cage, Rachel moves in and fires off a straight left straight right straight left straight right straight left straight right, all to Allison’s face and slams a submarine shot on Allison’s own navel, doubling Allison over and forcing an “OOOOUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!” from the number one ranked female fighter in the world. As Rachel nails her with twelve uppercuts to her bleeding face, but Allison tries to take Rachel down and Rachel backs away, nailing the side of Allison’s left knee with a hard kick and hurting Allison with a palm strike to Allison’s jaw. Rachel is keeping her arms low to protect her aching stomach and is using her reach advantage to pepper Allison with punches and kicks from a distance, but Allison takes three consecutive right hands to her left side and gets staggered with a head kick, but comes back with a hard left hook to Rachel’s jaw that turns the Persian’s head and shocks the crowd. But Rachel fires off a kick to Ally’s left side, another leg kick and a spinning kick that hits Allison on the navel and with a “GUUUGGH!!!” Allison doubles over again, but charges forward, head butting Rachel in the solar plexus and moving her back, but Rachel cracks Allison with two vicious uppercuts to her face, backing Allison up. Allison bangs her gloves together and continues to come at Rachel.

Rachel stands and puts her hands on her hips as Allison keeps her guard up and stares at Rachel with stone cold swelling eyes. Rachel glances at the clock and fires a left hook at Allison as Ally fires a right hand. Rachel’s left hook tags Allison jaw and Allison’s right cross nails Rachel’s stomach, knocking Rachel down on her butt with an “Ummm!!!” Rachel gets to a squat just as Allison’s knee crashes into her stomach and her thigh hits her face.

Rachel- Unnnhhhh… guuuuh….guuuhhh!!!

Rachel grabs Allison and tries to take her down, but Allison sprawls and turns with Rachel then seems to back up a bit, nailing Rachel with a triple jab to her chin and slamming a right hand into the Persian’s stomach before circling to Rachel’s left, feinting a takedown attempt, but firing a head kick that Rachel partially blocks. Rachel is staggered and Allison seems to be moving more, landing a jab to Rachel’s face and a left hook to the side with a straight right to Rachel’s stomach just as Rachel was setting up a kick. Rachel grimaces and misses on her takedown attempt as Allison circles away from her. Rachel is staring at Allison with an expression that is difficult to read, and Rachel rushes in on Allison who circles from side to side as Rachel misses three hooks and five crosses, only to have her right leg punched at the thigh when she tries to throw a kick and Allison circles away… and jumps in with a devastating right hand to Rachel’s face, stunning Rachel numb and snapping her head back as Allison hooks her and drives seven knees into Rachel’s stomach before Rachel desperately frees herself, eats a savage left hook to her jaw followed by a head kick and staggers backwards as Allison rushes in… and the bell rings.

Rachel needs to be helped again to her seat and Allison plops down in her own corner looking very very bad, but nodding as Cutter is whispering in her ear, not allowing the cameras to hear what he’s saying. Allison seems to be wiping her eyes of tears and she is crying silently as she nods at her adopted father and trainer. Over in Rachel’s corner, her husband Angelo is massaging her stomach. When Rachel speaks, she’s speaking in a soft but raspy tone of breathlessness.

Angelo- You alright?

Rachel- No…

Angelo- What’s wrong? Tummy ache?

Rachel- You know, you have a strange sense of humor.

Angelo- She won that last round too, but she’s not going to last five more rounds of this. You’re going to need to pick up the pace and try to get her out of here. And Rachel, please protect yourself in there.

Rachel- You don’t think I know that? I can’t imagine what my face looks like right now and I can‘t even feel my legs. She’s boxing and moving… she’s fighting differently now. I… I don’t know… I feel like I’m dying…

Angelo- Sweetheart, I’ve never seen you this cut up; I’ve never heard you scream like that. I’m not going to tell you what I’ll do; you already know. I won’t lose you to this.

Rachel- You don’t think I can beat her?

Angelo- It doesn’t matter what I think; it matters what you do.

Rachel sees Allison stand up and stare at her. Allison may be hurting and bleeding badly, but she’s looking as eager as she did in the first round. The audience has never seen this much punishment be dished out between two fighters in a ten minute time span. Rachel stands and looks around, sighing.

Round 3

The bell rings and Allison takes center cage as Rachel tries to circle to Allison’s left and look for an opening, but Allison gets Rachel’s liver with a left hook and rams a knee into Rachel’s stomach, just below the navel.

Rachel- Ohhhhhh…

Rachel lowers her head and goes down on her hands and knees as Allison rams seven knees into Rachel’s side while throwing sweeping lefts and rights into her arms, trying to get her head. Rachel springs to her feet and tries to tackle Allison down, but Allison hip tosses Rachel and Rachel flips and is barely able to remain on her feet. Rachel is moving like her legs are in quicksand and she’s near her own corner as Allison cautiously moves in. Rachel’s hands a low to guard her stomach and she’s staring at Allison who is pawing at Rachel’s hands trying to lock up with her near the cage wall. Rachel isn’t looking very interested and is trying to get her wind, so Allison nails her with a hard straight right to her face and Rachel falls into the cage wall, then gets dropped by a sidekick to her stomach. Rachel is down in her corner and is covering up and bringing her legs in, posting off the cage wall to try and get to her feet while Allison is standing over her looking to drop a knee in. Angelo sees the pain in his wife’s eyes and the vacant tarnished look on her battered face and he grabs the towel and prepares to throw it… uttering one line to Rachel.

“You’re going to have to kill her because I‘m not going to let her kill you.”

Rachel glances at her husband with her good right eye; her left eye is now swollen shut and the cut running from one eyebrow to the other is bleeding badly as Allison dives down, but Rachel brings her knees in and Allison’s stomach takes the impact.

Allison- OUGH!!

Allison is knocked back on her feet and raises her guard as Rachel rolls back to her feet with tears streaming down her face. Rachel slams a right hand to Allison’s navel, forcing an “OOOOOH!!!!” from her as Allison lowers her arms and Rachel grabs her in what appears to be a muay thai clinch, but pulls Allison’s head down with an elbow to the back of her neck and a simultaneous knee to her throat.

Allison- Aughhh… guuuh…

Allison’s body jerks upward and her back is against the cage as Rachel hits her navel with another right hand, only a “whoosh” sound comes from Allison and when Allison’s arms come down, Rachel hits her with twenty three unanswered punches to her face before the referee steps in and stops the fight, Allison’s arms dangling by her sides. RACHEL APACHE HAS DEFEATED ALLISON PAYNE and as the ref pulls Rachel away, she falls to her knees, completely spent while Allison falls face first to the mat and is shaking violently. Angelo his wife up and hugs her and Rachel starts crying like a child in his arms while Cutter and Allison’s team rush to her side. Allison is sitting on a stool now, but is clearly hurting and zoning in and out of consciousness as Cutter is demanding that they bring a stretcher to the ring for his daughter so that she can be transported to the hospital.

Allison- What happened?

Cutter- You lost.

Allison- Okay. Was it fair?

Cutter- It’s on the replay.

Allison- (after watching the replay, a bit sad) It was fair. She beat me… I’m so sorry.

Cutter- (holding back tears of his own) I’ve never been more proud of you than I am now… I love you so much and there’s nothing to be sorry about.

Frankie J. approaches Allison while Rachel is still hiding her face in Angelo’s chest and still crying.

Frankie- Allison--

Cutter- She doesn’t need to answer any questions right now. She’s going to the hospital.

Allison- Rachel Apache showed her greatness again tonight… she beat me and I want to thank everyone for… for…

Allison passes out on the stool and the EMTs have made it as Frankie approaches Rachel. Rachel looks horrible and has her towel over her head and most of her face and is drinking water. Rachel turns and watches as the crowd gives Allison a standing ovation while an ambulance pulls up near the cage and she is put on a stretcher. Rachel watches as her estranged sister and the woman who is scheduled to fight Allison in Chicago, 27-year old OPW legend Lady Jasmine Raheid hugs Allison and kisses her swollen forehead, whispering something in Ally's ear. Allison is placed in the ambulance, and it leaves. Rachel’s face isn’t visible, so her expression isn’t known, but as she turns back, she sighs and looks at Frankie, her face swollen and busted up… she looks nothing like she usually would after a match; she looks very, very hurt and her hands are shaking.

Frankie- Rachel, congratulations. You’ve had some great victories over just about every fighter who has ever mattered in the fighting world, but is this the biggest win of your career?

Rachel- (sounding distant, dizzy, aloof, and holding her head and stomach) I don’t know… it is certainly the most painful.

Frankie- It really looked like you were on the verge of being stopped on several occasions. How did you turn it around?

Rachel- I may have just gotten lucky… she outwrestled me; she out-struck me; she kept coming. That has never happened to me before, so either she was that good or… I don’t know… I don’t feel like I’ve won, but I do feel content, maybe by force. I don’t even feel like thinking that much right now…

Frankie- Allison's camp has been calling you out for years and there were a lot of swipes taken leading up to this fight. Well, the question was: Can anybody stop the Payne? You answered that tonight.

Rachel- (very spaced out, as if she‘s on medication and wincing and grimacing) I don’t think the pain is stopped, not according to the way I am feeling.

Frankie- There’s been a lot of speculation about whether or not this will be your last match. You are scheduled to defend your title against Glory next, but there’s talk of you going to London to face Gemma Rox. What’s next for you? Maybe a rematch with Allison?

Rachel- (sounding very drained and out of it, but with a hint of sarcastic humor) Maybe in another seven years. What is next for me is a hot bath in mogra tea and a lot of icepacks. And when I feel better; when “the pain” has stopped enough, I’m going to go home and rethink my life.

Frankie- Are you retiring?

Rachel and Angelo look at each other.

Rachel- I don’t feel like thinking right now.

Angelo- We need to get you to a hospital, sweetheart.

Rachel is given a standing ovation of her own as she walks with her husband to the back, holding her stomach and walking very slowly.

Phew!.... epic.... bloody.... emotive... you captured so much of a fight in there! you always seemed to have the edge on Allisons side even after she took heavy damage, she just had the heart for it and that kept you guessing until the very end! I loved it honey! I know you've been wanting to write that story for a long time and it shows in the quality, that was a pounding rythem that kept you wincing and gasping the whole way.

You rocked it honey!

Thank you so much, Gemma. Coming from an author like you, who is without a doubt, a master of brutality and human emotion in your stories, that means the world because I wasn't sure about this one. My original run on this board was all about working towards this match-up and doing it and I'm happy that it's done... well, the match is. Rachel Apache and Allison Payne have finally fought. Now, what could be next? We'll see...  ;)

Coming soon... at OPW No Love from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the City of Brotherly Love will host a battle of real hatred as bitter enemies Marie B. and Samantha face off for the fifth and possibly final time. The rest of the card hasn't been released yet, and it will be soon enough, but it's business as usual.
