mother and fighter

The pic below is very tame and contains no fighting, flesh or titillation, however I think it does raise some interestng questions on female combat ( if I may say so as a mere male)

Can a woman be both fully female AND a full-on fighter?

She is doing something that to me , as a dad , is as female as you can get, caring for her littlle baby who is so dependent on her.

At the same time she is ready to go on the mats in her judo GI and take on an opponent ( female as it happens) in one-on- one physical combat. She presumably sees no conflict or contridictaion in both activites.

So she is in the role women are " pigeonholed " into - nurturer but she is also what many people find , strange/wrong/weird - a fighter. Her sport actually allows her strangle  an opponent into submission within its rules.

So why if she can do something so female and so aggressive within minutes do many people find women fighting so odd?

The last line says it all. I have never understood why a mother can.t be a fighter also..... I always told my friends that someday women will box but they all laughed.... Well to the women that fight in real or arranged fights.. Congratulations to you and your still as feminine as the one who says she will never fight....
