I dunno if you guys have a Fathom Events movie theater in your area, but RiffTrax, the guys who used to work on Mystery Science Theater 3000, are going to be doing a live riffing of Syfy's dorky masterpiece Sharknado next Thursday and then the following Tuesday.

If you've never been to a live riffing, they are abso-fucking-lutely spectacular.

OK details Ohhhh Purple mistress of knowledge and guidance...  I happened to see something advertising Sharknado at local theater. Figured somehow GASppppp a sequal .... had been committed.
Was hoping they did not have the desperation to bring that to the big screen ....
Is it going to be like a mystery science showing..... You have the commentary going, while movie plays??

More info please .... Because the shrapnel driven by hundred mile per hour winds, inside the tornado must not harm them.
Pithy commentary MAY be what is needed to do them in .... LOL   :D

Yeah, 'tis a live commentary track.

They watch the movie live in a movie theater, usually in Tennessee or Minnesota.  It's Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett.  Mike was always a writer on the old MST3K but took over as the main human protagonist once Joel Hodgson left the series.  Kevin has always been the voice of robot Tom Servo, as well as bunch of other voices, and Bill Corbett took over as Crow T. Robot's voice after Trace Beaulieu left.

They run commentary on the movie while it plays, and the view shifts between the movie itself and the commentators on the stage in the theater where they're doing the show, because sometimes they do costume bits and stuff during slow bits.  They almost always have a short or two, and a few comedic bits in the intro.

I've been to the Riffings of Starship Troopers, Plan Nine from Outer Space, Jack the Giant-Killer (1962), Santa Claus Conquers the Martians ... and they've ALL been amazing.  This year they're also doing Godzilla (1998) and Anaconda.

Thanks for the reply ......  Sage wisdom from the purple vixen!!

BTW anyone know about this possible....... Happened to catch Captain America 2 final time, before it leaves theaters. Have a little 2 screener, in nearby small city.
They usually get it, few weeks before run finished, and maybe home video takes over.
Watched teaser, at end, quicksilver and scarlet witch intro....  YET as I was leaving.. heard someone say. There was one more scene yet to go.

Anyone know if this one had a double dip, of extra scenes during or after credits??

You didn't stay until the very end?  Silly man.

After the credits are over - the Quicksilver/Witch intro happens MID-credits - but after they're ENTIRELY over you see the Winter Soldier in civvy clothes going to the Captain America Smithsonian display and looking confused ...

... and then walking into the Bucky Barnes display.

I've always liked sophomoric comedies like PCU, Spaceballs, and Super Troopers.

Action - Snatch or Boondock Saints

Drama - We Are Marshall

Remember if you like Spaceballs ... It is all about the merchandising!!  He he he
Thanks for adding in ..   ;)

Vixen what can I say.. they broke the rules... Before either during end credits OR at the end.. It was one then done..  Sighhh just another way. To make you look at who the caterer was for the movie..   ;D  While waiting for what you really want to see.

Appaloosa - 2005

While the western genre has lost much of its favor, every now and then we get a gem.  One example is "Tombstone", which happens to be one of favorite movies of all time.

Another is "Appaloosa".......

Appaloosa is an American western based on the 2005 novel, Appaloosa, by crime writer Robert B. Parker. Directed by Ed Harris and co-written by Harris and Robert Knott, Appaloosa stars Harris alongside Viggo Mortensen, Renée Zellweger and Jeremy Irons. The film premiered in the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in selected cities on September 19, 2008, then expanded into wide-release on October 3, 2008.

The movie shares some narrative similarities with the 1959 Western Warlock, directed by Edward Dmytryk and starring Henry Fonda, Anthony Quinn and Richard Widmark. There is also a 1966 Western named The Appaloosa which stars Marlon Brando, but the two films are unrelated.

In 1882, the small town of Appaloosa, New Mexico, is being terrorized by local rancher Randall Bragg (Jeremy Irons), who killed the town's marshal, Jack Bell (Robert Jauregui), and two of his deputies when they came to his ranch to arrest two of his men. The town decides to hire lawman and town-tamer Virgil Cole (Ed Harris) and his deputy, Everett Hitch (Viggo Mortensen), to protect and regain control of the town. The pair agree on one condition: that the town follow the by laws drawn up by Virgil Cole, which means that Virgil and Everett will essentially be running the town while employed as City Marshalls.

The movie is brilliantly directed by Ed Harris...and he also co-wrote the script.

Give it a look...I think you'll like it

Man I completely missed the Magnificent Seven quote. You know, that was supposed to be Yul Brynner's movie, but Steve McQueen completely stole it.

With the news of the passing of James Garner, I offer up "The Great Escape" with McQueen and Garner as well as Bronson.  Excellent story and tremendous cast.
