It's the battle of newcomers! Dark Phoenix makes her industry-wide premiere exclusively at Hit the Mat. In a pre-match interview, she talks about her Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Jiu-Jitsu and other training, and challenges any man to a battle.
Enter Kato, a scrawny looking college student looking to make his mark in the sports entertainment business. Dark Phoenix can't help but laugh, and thinks this will be an easy fight. Little does she know, Kato is an active MMA competitor.

Both fighters do have real martial arts training.
The action is partially unscripted, and not many sound effects were added. Both fighters took numerous real hits in a largely realistic fantasy fight. Not all of the hits were intentional, either.
