Ohhhhhhhh... I've sure thought of THAT match-up "a few times", in various "forms", over the past ten years or so...

Very close and even match, Mary with more size, Amelie with more raw toughness...

Amelie wins... but only just

And on any second day, Mary might take her.

mary is a very powerfully built woman.  she is pretty and with the smile and long blonde hair it takes away from the fact she is a big girl.  like 5' 9" or 10" tall and in the 150 lb range (give or take).  she wins on power

Indeed, and the thought of it ending with the sight of Mary standing proud, with her hands upon her shapely hips, leaning over a defeated Mauresmo, pressing the sole of her converse on her compatriot's chest, is something that I can live with rather easily...
