Hosting UK Catfights - UK Catfight/Wrestling Connection thread
« on: February 22, 2014, 04:57:13 PM »
Hi everyone

Some of you would have seen through PMing me and a couple of threads that I have made that I'm interesting in hosting catfights. When I say hosting I mean providing a safe environment and private venue for them and enforcing rules to ensure they're safe obviously not fighting myself (I'm a 23 year old male). I own my own house in London which I live in usually alone though sometimes with my girlfriend (her job is now based in Scotland so for the majority of the week the house is just me and if people are interested in this it will have to be, for now, when the house is empty and my gf isn't there)

I've spoken to a few people about this and I'm aware that some of the legit and real verified catfighters on this site in the UK have messaged me - I also realise I've ignored most of your messages lol, sorry about that, work has been insanely busy with a few big deals until now.  ;D

Anyway - what I'm really looking to do at this stage is to speak to people - whether on here, on email or in person - to figure out how to get this going. The idea for this was something I got from claris_doll who pointed out how many keen catfighters here just want a safe place to meet and fight irl with rules in a safe way rather than being filmed or paid or used in a company/producer etc and that's something that works better for me. I haven't heard back from her since then and so I've still got so many questions (how to kit out a room in my house to make sure it's safe and protected), the legality of all of this in the UK, who would be up for it etc

So if people are interested in this idea, to help, to participate, to advise or to get involved, please PM me and we'll talk. All due respect to everyone, I'm not interested in fake posers wasting my time. If you're keen on the idea then let me know and we'll do the necessary verifications before we talk.

Thanks

Some thoughts with the legality issues, not answers but things to consider:

1. You might want to see what gyms who have combative events in have to do/provide. Since you could be seen in the the same way as a gym that has a boxing ring. Surely they have some legal provisions if someone gets hurt sparring one day.

2. Since you will be hosting combative events, you might want to make sure that a boxing/wrestling/MMA commission won't suddenly be able to stick their nose in your business.

3. Make sure the renos needed to make a safe site won't violate any building codes. And that they can be reversed if you sell the place. Since a soundproof bare room in your basement with reinforced walls might not look too good if there is a serial killer in town :) Coupled with the strangers who show up keeping their faces obscured from the neighbors...

And do make sure no bylaws or community rules might cause an issue. Some communities wont even allow you to paint your house a different color so you might want to check so your neighbors don't have reason to raise hell.

Not sure how you can ask this sort of thign discreetly, but I would had to have you sink some money in and then have something like this sink things for you.

The biggest fakes here are those posing as humans.
