So What Really Happened To DWW?
« on: March 07, 2014, 03:49:25 AM »

I know this story is at least a couple of years old, but I've always been curious why DWW went into hibernation.  There is still a website where you can order videos, but it hasn't been touched or updated in at least a year.

Now I know that Hana, who used to work for DWW, started Foxy Combat, but it didn't appear like there was bad blood between her and DWW.  And now Fighting Dolls uses all the DWW girls and venues.  It is so similar to DWW it could be called DWW 2.0.

So I was wondering whether anyone who reads this board knows what happened to DWW.  Was it just that the pirates got the best of GR and he folded up shop, or was it something else.  Is GR involved with Fighting Dolls?  Did he stop DWW and start Fighting Dolls himself?

I'm not really looking for guesses or speculation, just hard facts from someone who's in the know about these things.

Read here ...

http://www.freecatfights.com/forums/index.php/topic,36548.msg294903.html#msg294903

Fairly simple really, the Brno girls and their manager/ organiser Marek, wanted a larger slice of the pie and a better product (so they say), and (poor) GR who once had a monopoly of talent that included Hungarian (HWW), Ukrainian (BSA), Czech (Brno) and invitees from Germany,Belgium, France and USA, had no material to work with.

Now if there is an enterprising businessman out there, I'd suggest that the next location might be Romania, Bulgaria or Moldova ... all have stunning athletic women with the right economies of scale ...  :)

My thanks to Wizard for the update any number of fans have contacted my blog(femfighteurope.blogspot.co.uk) about recent happenings.
If there as been a noted difference from the days of DWW it is that of going more in the direction of the erotic, which is not something many fans, myself included have been too keen on.
Why???For me some of DWW's best work was without doubt the Garden Boxing Series and I don't see the current erotic style lending itself to that.
Having said that I do realise that DWW had almost stopped producing boxing a while back, largely due to the cost!!!

I strongly suspect that DWW's plight was aggravated by Zambia, who was so enraged by her defeats, that she complained to the press about her treatment. She painted the management in a very bad light, including allegations that they were close to being white slave traders.

If that didn't  help to close down their operation, it certainly came close.

I find it extremely hard to believe that anyone would be so enraged by her defeats in a wrestling match that she would accuse the management of being white slave traders.

According to what I heard (from reliable sources to me)…Zambia was enraged because Beatrice Goffin and her husband pocketed all or most of the money paid by DWW for her and some other girls in Goffin’s team wrestling at a DWW live event. She knew some of the wrestlers were underage and reported that information to the authorities. Consequently, Beatrice Goffin had to go out of business, her husband went to prison, DWW had to close down their business.

underage huh? interesting......how young would they have been was that known or disclosed?

I'd say in any case your story sounds more plausible than her being upset simply out of losing a match or two. Usually if someone is that critical and sees them as slave owners like that......it goes deeper than something as basic as outcomes individually. Would seem silly otherwise.

I don't know exactly how young they were at the time but in most countries under 18 is considered underage.

In any case, I don't believe that G.R. would give up to allegations of white slave trading, and the story that the pirates got the best of him simply makes me laugh.

A couple of questions for you Krizanti,

1.  Why is the piracy theory so laughable?  I do know that GR complained about pirates at times on the DWW website.  There are literally hundreds if not thousands of DWW clips pirated and posted just on youtube alone.  Spending money producing videos that are then seen for free is a sure fire way to go bankrupt.

2.  Why does the Goffin group using underage girls have anything to do with DWW going under?  As a casual observer it seems to me that GR was quite scrupulous in verifying that his fighters were over 18.

3.  Was there media coverage in Europe of the Goffin bust and prison for the husband?

1-First and foremost, let me tell you that everyone has his own perspective on any subject. What I find laughable may not seem laughable to you or vice versa. Not only GR but everyone complains about pirates, but the number of producers keep going up exponentially. I heard the excuse that he makes the best products that’s why pirates only copy his products…if it were true, since Hana and Marek produce similar stuff they would be kicked out of the market by pirates too.

2-Because the same girls were also used by GR. I am not sure how scrupulous GR was with all legal issues. They used to hold an annual event in Hungary and they were busted by the Hungarian Vice Squad and it was the end of their summer event. Why would he stop if everything in those events were perfectly legal?

3-I don’t live in Belgium and have no idea if there was a media coverage.

These are simply my views and opinions based on information I had…I have no need or desire to change your opinions. However, if you have better inside information I can be persuaded.

Krizanti,

Thanks for taking the time to answer.  I find your info very interesting.  I have no personal opinions on this topic, and absolutely no inside information, just some curiosity.  In fact, that's why I posed the question in the first place.

Thanks again.

I also remember another version of that from GR...saying that because of pirates, the girls’  boyfriends were finding out what they were doing and dumping them.

In this latest version you posted…because of pirates, the girls’ neighbors and coworkers are finding out what they are doing and blackmailing them.

From GR’s statement we can deduce…

1-The girls boyfriends, neighbors, coworkers are very conservative people and what these girls are doing is totally unacceptable in their ‘hood.
2-Despite the fact that the boyfriends, neighbors, coworkers are so conservative, they are browsing pirate websites for this kind of pornographic material.
3-The girls are aware that if what they are doing is found out in their circle, there will be serious consequences…therefore they’re doing it secretly.
4-It’s okay for GR and the girls being dishonest to their boyfriends as long as the boyfriends can’t find out about it.

Considering there are billions of websites on the net,  what is the likelihood of someone who has zero interest in this kind of material finding pirate websites offering them? IMHO, these girls had way more exposure at DWW website than any other website on the net.

IMO, it is simply a guilt trip to refrain people from downloading his stuff illegally.

I don’t expect GR or anyone to admit on a message board that he was forced to quit due to some kind of wrongdoing. It’s a smart way to blame the pirates.

It seems to me that GR is saying that piracy was hurting his business in 2 ways:

1.  It was taking an emotional toll on the women, causing them to quit the biz.

2.  It was taking a financial toll on the company.

Well personally I think #1 is hogwash.  The women were hired to do porn and that has consequences, whether the video was legally bought or seen for free. Stalkers and malcontents could just as easily purchase a vid of a woman they wanted to target as opposed to finding it for free somewhere or the other.

On the other hand #2 seems quite credible to me. It would be hard for me to believe that piracy didn't have some effect on the bottom line.

Man I hate that DWW is gone. Too much crap about why it happened. The man gave us a ton of great fights, and I'm sure he put up with a ton of crap doing it.

I agree.  It breaks my heart that DWW is gone.  Based on what I'm reading here, it sounds like there were a number of things that contributed to their demise, and that's a shame.  They were one of the first to have real wrestling and fighting action and for a long time were the gold standard when it came to female wrestling and catfighting videos.  Their roster of attractive and skilled fighters was unmatched by any company for a long time.  I still have boxes full of VHS tapes of their matches and a hard drive full of matches that I purchased through download.  Not only did they spawn other companies (namely Foxy Combat and Fighting-Dolls), but they pushed other companies to up their game as well.

I think there is one clear lesson that we all can learn from this.  If you like the matches being produced by a video company, open up your wallet and spend some of your money to buy their videos!  Don't just troll on the free sites to watch what you can find there.  If you want these companies to keep producing the type of matches that you like, then spend a few dollars on their products to help them continue to be able to do so.  I've spent more on videos over the years than I'd care to think about, but I'm glad to have supported companies like DWW, Foxy Combat, Fighting-Dolls, and others so that they can continue to produce the types of videos I like to watch.  Vote with you wallet!

There was one guy that hacked all the DWW matches and went around posting the matches for free online and really did damage to DWW...

There's a producer who apparently hacked one of DWWs videos and put it up for sale in his clips store.
