YouTube no good for real fights anymore??
« on: March 17, 2014, 03:11:48 PM »
Hi everyone,

Is it just me or are there way less real fights on YouTube these days? It looks like they have got stricter on what can be posted? Before if you typed in girl fight, bitch fight or chick fight LOADS of results from the past 24 hrs would come up.. Now there is hardly one decent one in a week!

Anybody else find this? Have people started uploading elsewhere??

Yes, I have found that too.

I did hear that they have tightened up their policy - for the worse, it seems.

Also, a number of "classic" matches from a few years ago, have since been withdrawn for "breach of copyright" issues.

Seems their "tightening up" is focussed on the wrong area!

Given it is rather clear in youtube's community guidelines:

•Graphic or gratuitous violence is not allowed. If your video shows someone getting hurt, attacked, or humiliated, don't post it.
•YouTube is not a shock site. Don't post gross-out videos of accidents, dead bodies and similar things.
•Respect copyright. Only upload videos that you made or that you are authorized to use. This means don't upload videos you didn't make, or use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs, or videos made by other users, without necessary authorizations. Read our Copyright Tips for more information.

I am not sure why anyone should be shocked they can't find real fights or copyright material. The latter is so youtube doesn't get classified as a pirate site, the former so it doesn't become a "sick" site or one that gets constant requests from police or lawyers for evidence. The main issue with their copyright enforcement has been their being overzealous in doing so in cases of fair use like reviews. One of the more infamous recent cases was a reviewer who got WRITTEN authorization to do a review using game footage. When the company didn't get a favorable review, they filed a cease and desist with Youtube.

But yeah, having something still commercially available up on youtube will likely get you slapped. And I can't really blame a company for doing so especially in this industry with what I sense is thin profit margins.

YouTube fights often ended very inconclusively.  Although there was one, since pulled, Tessa vs I-forget-who, on a driveway, which was the best fight I've ever seen.

There used to be some amazing fights up there. It's such a pity.

Youtube is still OK IF you happen to access the site very soon after the fights are posted.  Of course, that's going to be trial and error, but you can still have some good luck on occasion.  The irritating thing I've seen the past year or so on Youtube is mass posts by individuals of ancient fights that were originally posted years ago.  That's OK if you haven't checked the site in the past, but if you've checked the site on a regular basis for the past 5 years or so, you've probably already seen the vids.

Dailymotion isn't too bad, but you have to be patient while they show advertisements before some of the vids will play.

Those users who post loads of old videos are so annoying!! I don't understand why they aren't stopped posting yet someone randomly posting a fight is!?

MM  some of them are so dated, I know the outcome off by heart. So, now I re-enact them with whoever is close to me at the time - or the family cat - mm I don't have a family cat! ;D

Go, to daily motion  or xvideos .com and you should , find, your real catfights and more graphic  fighting videos or clips, there . And, they also, include, your topless or nude wrestling or catfighting  matches, with sexual related content. Forget, you tube, there, the past and loosing ground, in the  catfighting  or street fighting market, real fast .

You make some very good points. I like Dailymotion and Xvideos etc. They have a wide range of matches to suit all tastes - and some of them run for an hour or so. Highly recommended!
