It is with a lot of regret that I write this. My husband lost his ongoing struggle with PTSD last week and took his own life. He became a statistic as on average 22 Veterans take their own lives each day.

I do intend to leave my profile up because I am proud of the stories I have written and who knows, maybe I will return one day. For now I need to take care of myself and my family. Thank you in advance for understanding.

Anna, I know we've not spoken - but all I can say is that all at FCF will, I hope, be feeling for you - but we'll never know the pain you feel - but you have hundreds of folk rooting for you.

I can only echo the thoughts of others when I say i cannot begin to feel the full pain of your loss.  I am proud to say that we were beginning a friendship and had even decided to collaborate on a story.  Right now a story doesn't seem very important.

Take the time that you need to make sense of your loss...if you can....and to remember....

A lot of us have been there and we do understand and have you in our thoughts and prayers.

I know nothing anyone here can say will help much. Your husband isn't a statistic, he was a living being in pain and should be regarded with the same humanity as someone taken by cancer or any other disease. Never forget that.

I know there has been efforts  to downplay this condition (since you know, ignoring it worked so well for Nam vets..) but it is very real and awful to deal with.

From what I know about you, you and your family will endure this. Come back when you can.

I am very sorry to see this ....  I know recent past there had been some health issues. I am sorry, it is this long, before I saw this.
Words of course, never enough, to be able to express how much. Many of us appreciate you. As well as sincere condolences on your loss.

You are an incredible woman ... One I have enjoyed very much. Getting to meet here. A smart, and multi talented, beautiful lady.
Of course, do what you must ...  leave your stories here. For they deserve to be seen and enjoyed. This time save them for yourself.
I know how much time and effort it can take, to do them.

I hope you get to spend time here again. Maybe getting to share your stories down the road with your young ones, when older.
