The Seven Wonders of the Catfight World: Number 2

Andi v. Michelle (Crystal)

The only possible surprise about this choice is that I didn't put it at the top of my list, but it came SO close!

Chosen by many as the pinnacle of catfight history, and with good reason, Crystal’s sexiest fighters went up against each other in a no-holds-barred fight to the finish.  Someone’s 0 had to go and each woman went into what was effectively the championship match of that particular Crystal era with huge self-belief.  To add more spice, there was clearly no love lost between the combatants.

Andi, the tall busty brunette, had not reached this point in her career without knowing what it’s like to be on the receiving end of punishment.  Taylor, Brooke, Crystal and Cat had all provided decent opposition and, were it not for the lethal power of Andi’s thighs, could have caused her deeper problems.  But Andi knew how to win, and liked to dominate her opponents after she had broken them.

Quietly-spoken freckle-faced Michelle, on the other hand, had proved a ferocious hand-to-hand combatant, stunning heavyweight black woman Charlotte in Video Magazine 13.  If she could handle the leopard-skinned colossus of Charlotte, this girl with the Irish looks would surely think nothing of the three inch height advantage she was giving away to Andi.

Bragging rights may have been uppermost in the minds of both fighters and little could they have known that this scrap was for a place in catfight legend – but as these busty beauties face off in black Wonderbras and suspenders, it feels like this is one for history.

If styles make fights, then Michelle is the brawler against the more natural wrestler Andi.  As two irresistible forces collide, an action-packed, bitter thriller develops where - just to edge a little closer to perfection – both pairs of magnificent breasts soon spill over their inadequate restraints. A topsy-turvy battle of grappling, hairpulling and full-on face-punching creates opportunities for both to win, but eventually a deserved winner emerges. Any contender for ultimate catfight has to have an ultimate winner and an ultimate loser, and the finish – when it comes – is decisive.

In the post-fight interview, the winner looks as radiant as any woman you have ever seen; the loser has never looked so pissed off.  Somehow, her vanquisher seems even to have stolen a chunk of her beauty as well as the fight itself.  Cigarette shaking in trembling hands, the beaten woman claims that an earlier fight that day had left her with insufficient strength to give the match her best shot. She’s already angling for a rematch but, alas, it didn't transpire.  Surely no sequel could have lived up to the original but, for what it’s worth, I think the outcome would have been the same.

This 10 minute grudge match of almost unsurpassed intensity between stacked and ferocious warriors-in-lingerie might be the apogee of Crystal’s contribution to 20th century catfighting.

You must have seen it, but if you haven’t, you MUST.

I've watched this a few times over the years and I think its a work (i.e. they are not really fighting).

Never heard anyone describe this as a fake fight before, and I really don't think this one was.  However, I think I understand why it might appear that way: it's down to Andi's fighting style.  She might be one tough bitch, but there's something complacent about the way she fights.  Watch her against those other opponents I mentioned  - she could and should have completely dominated them, but time and again we see her losing a position of dominance and finding herself in a vulnerable situation.  Maybe she enjoys the rolling around, maybe she's so confident in her ability and enjoying herself so much (and god, she looks like she enjoys fighting)  that she doesn't mind making a fight last a bit longer than it should.  And watch her punches as well.  She flaps rather than hits.  Almost as if she would prefer to end any fight with her lethal leg scissors.  Compare that with the clearly hurtful punches that Michelle was throwing to head and body.  I don't think any of Andi's opponents ever looked like they were faking it.

Despite her looks and her fearful reputation, I don't think we ever saw the best of Andi.  There are so many imaginary match-ups I would like to put her in.  Have to say though, that her lack of real killer extinct would cost her in some of them ... which is why I can't have her as my best catfighter of all time.
