Wow!! So sad to read GR's note. I really hope he gets better. It's very unfortunate that it has come to this. I feel bad for GR who put so much into this and we should all be thankful for what he has produced over the years with DWW. In my opinion, DWW set the standard for high quality female fighting for many years, and still has my vote as the best of the best. If there were awards, GR should get the Lifetime Achievement Award with his work in establishing DWW as a leader in our FemFight world.
This brings back many fond memories. I have purchased numerous VHS tapes from DWW going back decades, was a paying member for many years and thoroughly enjoyed how the membership was set up (movie credits, small clips, Fight of the Month, tons of pictures, etc.). We'd write comments and suggestions and GR would respond in kind. Those European women at DWW were always so nice, but when it came down to fighting, they meant business and were very athletic, intense, emotional, etc. which made DWW so special (to me anyway). I wish I could have attended some of his live events. I do have videos of many of these matches with DWW combatants fighting against women from other organizations and countries. I wish I had the money to buy GR's collection.
It's too bad that GR will close the DWW website for good. There are still many great sample pictures worth looking at. I second CFfightfan's opinion that hopefully GR's torch will be passed on to someone who could pursue his vision.
