Any fans of female mixed martial arts here?
« on: April 02, 2015, 07:57:13 PM »
I just love watching the women of the UFC and Invicta go at it.  Real fighting (or as real as it can get legally) is where it's at for me.  I get such a kick from watching two women trying to defeat one another in hand to hand combat.  I'm just not into the scripted/overly sexualised nonsense.

Anyone else love watching women's MMA?

I thoroughly enjoy many of the female MMA fights, with the understanding that as with any fight match-up there can always be some real duds.

If the fight is very even and very competitive/aggressive then I will probably enjoy it - and I apply that same evaluation to catfights, submission wrestling matches, arm wrestling, boxing and any other competitive match-up between females.

I LOVE MMA, particularly the women fights!  Ronda ROUSEY, Misha TATE, Gina CARANO, Cat ZINGANO, Holly HOLM, the women are hot, fit, sexy, and well trained, and show lots of energy and competitive drive to win.  The head kicks, and wrestling is also so hot to me.  I LOVE that they fight barefoot too!  AWESOME!

The only thing I don't like is how they braid their hair.

Yeah it's always a real blessing when they refrain from doing that.  Hoping Paige Van Zant finds some way of raising money for cancer that doesn't involve shaving her head.

Did anyone watch Julianna Pena's fight last night. That girl is a force to be reckoned with.  Not sure if she could challenge Rousey yet, but I think she would give anyone else in the division serious problems.

It was a good fight!

Milana Dudieva very strong fighter, but Pena just destroyed her.

Julianna Pena very much surprised me. She has good perspectives in the future.

Milana will be back and will show itself.

Ok guys, I assume you do know the reason for braiding hair is to keep it out of way of fight, as are ponytails with boxers. It has nothing to do with hairpulling as in catfights, which is ruled out in mma. There can be interference with fighting, esp if you have hair like Holly Holmes. the problem can be unintentional pulling when fighting down, and it also a hassle re vision sometime. And it has gotten to be a style. No, I haven't done mma, except for a very small taste a couple times v newbies. I would be lucky to stay in 5 seconds vs the famous ones- I am relaying what I have heard from friends.
