Annie Lennox, former lead singer of the group Eyrythmics, has publicly insulted pop princess Katy Perry while heartily laughing at the singer and not having any qualms about exposing the younger woman to an avalanche of ridicule in the media.
Asked if she could have imagined Katy as the vocal front woman of the group instead of herself, Annie laughed until tears streamed down her face; finally she stated it was the funniest joke she's ever been told.'So,'asked her interviewer, 'you don't think it would have been possible for her to handle her position there?'
'Of course, not!' Annie said. 'The poor girl can't sing a short line without either getting out of breath, or out of key, or simply both! She's the worst disaster I've heard in my career!'
'She'll be angry if she hears that from you. Would it worry you?'
Annie, still giggling, replied, 'Why, what would she do about it? Fight me? Okay - that would be cute! Sometimes it's fun to put a little girl like her over my lap and give her the spanking she deserves!' - With the last words, Annie flexes her naked arms' biceps in the interviewer's face. The journalist,a small, skinny young woman, impressed with Annie's physique, drops her jaw, whispering, 'WOW, that's...quite something!'

...Meanwhile, Katy, indeed, has heard; and she is so furious about Annie that she confronts her immediately, demanding to meet up with her to 'receive a due apology' from her rival.
Annie laughs. 'Would you dare to battle against my voice with yours onstage in a singing contest, little bubble headed pop girl? Just before I spank you?'
'I sing the shit out of you arrogant old has-been, anytime! And we'll see who's gonna give whom a spanking!' Katy replies, nearly shaking with anger.
Before the two singers' battle, Katy is being interviewed, and asked: 'Katy...at 60 years, your opponent is double your age...what if she makes her threat true to put you over her lap to spank you...how bad would it be for you?'
Katy replies with conviction, 'What? Is this a joke? That old woman? Before she lays a hand on me I slap her out of the ring! She hasn't got a chance!'

And soon the two women face each other onstage, to not only compete with their voices but also to settle their quarrel in a wrestling match...

Katy Perry would probably win in a fight with Annie Lennox. Katy is 30, Annie is 60. In terms of singing, Perry is nowhere near Lennox's level. Might as well compare Britney Spears to Aretha Franklin (I suppose that's a little harsh). Perry isn 't a terrible singer (like Spears), but she is certainly overrated. Perry's insanely hot & can sing. Lennox is an insanely gifted vocalist (who is quite beautiful herself). Annie Lennox is like David Bowie or Freddie Mercury, her voice is distinctly her own. Powerful, vulnerable, angelic, robotic, melancholic, euphoric, Annie invokes these through her voice. She is one of the greatest singers of the last 30 years at least. Thus ends my pointless rant.

I think 'a real life-Katy Perry' would know she'd lose a singing contest to Annie Lennox; she's very down to earth and knows which singers would blow her off the stage in a merely technical-abilities-competition. She's quite unique though, too, one of the very few young ones now who take it for granted they sing every show, and appearance on a show, instead of miming it, and she has a depth, energy, expression and power in her singing which many others lack. I'm not sure what Katy would say though if I told her she's a much better singer than Annie, but anyway I suppose she can well tell genuine appreciation from obsessed fans' fantasies, so I don't even think it would go down well. She doesn't compare herself to others neither but what she has verbalised in form of compliments to other female singers over the years indicates she knows their qualities and appreciates them herself. She simply works hard to always give the best but is completely realistic.
Annie Lennox I find very sexy btw, she's a woman who makes 60 look hot!

Even though I quite often give advantage to the more experienced woman, in this case I think that the younger woman is a heavy favorite to win this fight.

Katy would be  too much for Annie to handle. The younger and stronger Katy would put her in a painful submission hold and only let her go, as your poll suggests, when Annie apologizes to her.
