I think that if you asked 10 guys aged, say , 25 to 50 if they thought they stood a good chance in a wrestling fight against guy about their age and size not all would say "yes" .

I think they would know enough from kid/teenage scuffles and fights to realise they might not have what it takes to win a serious match. So maybe 50% would be bragging.cocky types and say " of course" , 25 % might say " I think I'd do OK but not sure I'd win " and 25% might say " no, I never won as a kid and some guys are too determined"

But what about women? They can be pretty competitive in their own way , and most have never actually wrestled or fought so maybe 80% would say" my lord I would NEVER get in a fight or wrestling match"  " but would the rest say "yes, Im not scared of woman my age/size so I could win"

Also women may feel they arent as strong as men so the damage risk is less.

Any thoughts/ comments please?

Judging by YouTube, 90% of women who start a fight regret doing so about 10 seconds in, and are just looking for a face-saving draw.

  • I love catfights!
I agree with what Sinclairfan has to say about youtube fights,  but I think prior to actually making contact most women go into a fight confident they are going to win.  Some learn very quickly that they had no idea what it takes to win, and as Sinclairfan says they quickly start looking for a way out, while saving face, but prior to the fight women are more confident than men, generally speaking

I have often thought about this difference in the genders when it comes to fighting.  I agree that men seem to know who they do and don't have a shot of beating in a fight.  Women who have never fought before seemed stunned when they get into a fight and realize they are completely over matched.
