After work today I went to a local watering hole after a long week with a few gals from the office. One woman who looked about 50 with a nice pearl necklace in a long sleeve expensive looking blouse walked past our table, turned around looked at me as if she knew me then continued on to the bar. A few minutes later she walked past the table looked at me again as if she knew me then turned the other way and continued to the ladies room. My few friends asked me if I knew her. I told them I didn't think so. I felt a little embarrassed. I pride myself and being good with names and faces. My mind was racing trying to figure out if I had ever met her before and my mind was a blank. Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to go into the ladies room to find out why she looked at me the way she did. I went in and she was fixing her hair in the mirror. She saw me of course and smiled. I asked her if we ever met before. She said she thought she saw my pictures online. I told her I'm on facebook. She then said something like....no, that's not it. She looked down and said you look like a woman I saw on FCF. She used the initials. I replied FCF? She nodded and asked me if I knew a bunch of pictures of me were on a website about catfights. My face froze. I just instinctively said what? She then went on as if she was letting me in on something. Its a website about women who fight and there are guys who enjoy that kind of thing. There are profiles with pictures of all kinds of women who say they are into fighting. Again she said somebody posted photos of me on the site and perhaps they copied them from facebook. I then asked her what she was doing looking at a that site. In my head I felt my jaw drop when she said she has a profile on the site but with no pictures. I asked her if she was kidding and she said no. She said something like she wasn't kinky but she takes cardio box classes and would actually like to try boxing with an actual opponent. I felt a bit more at ease now although I was set to deny everything at first. I then said I do have a profile on the site and that I did have some actual matches with gals I met on the site. Her eyes got big and she smiled with an open mouth. She said she was so sure somebody just lifted my pictures from the net and made up a profile. Slightly embarrassed I reiterated that it was really me and I do like to box. She then suggested we get together sometime. We exchanged numbers on our cells. I told I had to get back to my friends but I would give her a call. It just blew me away that someone in my neighborhood would recognize me from this site. In this case it seems like a good thing because I'm certain she wants to set up a friendly match. Of course on the other hand its a little unnerving. I've been on the site for over 5 years and this never happened.

What is strange in this situation?may be you feel ackward?but i think it is normal.and even open great opportunity.i also would like to meet some women here in real life.if we talked here it would be easy to get in connection.but my chances are minimum.because i live far from the people who sit here.i guess if you live near to each her it would be greatbidea to make renuions between the members

This gal called this morning but I missed the call. I returned the call and we discussed possibly a boxing match for Saturday.

When I say friendly I am not referring to intensity. Its not a grudge match like with those idiot women who fight over men but it should be competitive.

Personally, I give you a lot of credit for posting a real picture of yourself.  As a teacher, I would never do so as one of my greatest fears is that a student, former student or parent would recognize me.  Then way too much drama would ensue.

A similar thing happened to Barb many years ago, except that the woman who recognized her was a potential business client.  Seems that the woman was somewhat put off by Barb's recreational activity.  On the other hand, one wonders what she was doing perusing Barb's website in the first place.  That was never addressed.

Anyway, best to luck to you, Sue, I hope that this turns out to be a good experience.

Two things crossed my mind on this topic. The first since the other lady recognized from FCF, was hoping to hear from her and maybe see a post from her here.  The second thought I had was what was the venue for the match, neutral place , public gym, or someone home? Finally lady's  thank you for sharing.

I didn't get the impression that she was bothered, but insofar that it could cost her business, she opted to remove the one pic of herself from her site.
