Its Like The Fight Never Happened
« on: July 27, 2016, 08:10:13 PM »

Mila vs Sarah took place on June 18.  And yet, it seems like the fight never even took place.

On this board it was the most hyped fight I can remember.  Folks were in a fever.  "Can't wait!" The anticipation was as palpable as when us old timers realized that the latest CAVALIER was due to hit the news stand. "This catfight will surpass all others," they posted.  Of course the fact that these two women had fought previously in a one-sided snoozefest was completely ignored.

Well apparently, the fight actually did take place, but the response, or more accurately,  the lack of response from sponsors who bought the thing has been anything but deafening.  I'm trying to come up with an appropriate metaphor along the lines of "if a tree falls in the woods does it make a sound?" which would apply to a catfight that almost no one bothered to comment on. "If a catfight takes place in the woods....." oh never mind, you get the point.

But what makes things even more curious to me is the fact that the fight hasn't even been put up for sale to the general public.  Suitefights has always been excellent in giving sponsors a couple of weeks with the video before the masses get a chance to buy it. That's a terrific policy to reward the best customers, but Mila/Sarah happened 6 weeks ago and Mila/Kat (which took place the next day) has been for sale on Clips4Sale for at least a couple of weeks. Mila/Sarah should have been up by now.

Why the embargo on the "Fight of the Century" Mila vs Sarah?  I have no idea.  One can only speculate which is a nice way of saying "guess."  And my guess is that Suitefights, which prides itself in only selling oustanding, top-notch fights, had a another Mila/Sarah dud on its hands and won't sully its reputation by trying to sell it.

And of course, as always, I could be wrong.

Rich

The fight started strong, but as it went on it become underwhelming, even more so considering the "hype".

That said, it wasn't a "bad" fight, nor something happened - that I can tell - that would justify not releasing it. If you ask me, it's just being postponed to stimulate people to sponsor next time - being a super hyped fight and all you know. Just business policy.

But Steven can answer himself.

Styles make fights.

A striker who isn't allowed to punch or kick the head, versus a grappler who isn't allowed to use chokes or joint locks.

Take away the big boobs and Twitter shit talk and that's what you have left.

Totally agree !!

Honestly I'm not to impressed with either Sarah or Mila anymore.  And its not because they are old content.  The fights they have are just meh.    For one Sarah has to much training.  You can tell just from watching it.  She would fit well at WBI and looked right at home with the videos she did for them.  Mila, she seems to have a strategy of not crying out in pain, or shes just really tough.  What ever it is, its not sexy.  I'm sure everyone has opinions, just always felt catfights are better between untrained girls who just want to get hands on each other.  Most likely won't get this fight.

Although I will grab Mila VS seduction at Pharrahs.  Rare to see a black girls hair pulled in an arranged catfight.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious Sarah is training. But can you blame her? I mean, fighting is part of her income as of late, so training makes sense, not only because no one wants to be a pushover, but also because there is winning bonuses involved.

Anyway, it's pretty clear she is still pretty raw. She doesn't come close when it comes to skill compared to WBI girls. She probably started training half a year ago or something.

That said, I also like untrained girls a LOT better. That's why I think producers should always look for new girls. When girls start fighting too often, they will surely start to train, because they will want to get better, since they are doing it on usual basis.

I think the magic word here is diversity. I still want to see Sarah or Milla fight, but I would also like to see completely new girls going at it with real rules. I would also like to see old time wrestlers/catfighters going at it suitefights/catzreview/Pharrats style. For example, I would love to see Dakota and Dupree doing it. Both fought - not against each other - at Tanya's, so they can surely do.

So basically I think there is room for different stuff. As long as producers don't get lazy and keeps bringing diversity, it's all fine. I mean, you don't need to buy/sponsor every fight if you do not like them.

Good point Blue, the irony is Suite is held to the highest standards, which happen to be other suite fights, if that particular video was the fight or second suite fight release then...

diversity and good competition. the more talent young you bring in, the more likely to find better fights for them and also girls like Sarah and Mila, let alone old vets. Easier said than done course but...it helps to have a mix like that.

I'm not sure Dupree would do the Suitefights/Catzreview/Pharrah's style really, she only did Tanya's style once....and she quit after it got too rough. Dakota might but don't know that she would. Sarah has only been at this about a year btw that is accurate, though definitely getting better by the day with training. Still would love to see her and Mila in a body boxing match...prize fight type style, to see how she'd do in a fight Mila is better at. Don't know if they'd ever do it but I'd love to see it with all the contention about real fighting before their last matchup.

Dupree didn't quite "quit". But yeah, she got really frustrated. But she even did boxing matches - real. Dakota did quite a few. But they are a little old now, maybe they wouldn't do it. I would definitely buy it.
