What should Rhonda Rousey do next
« on: January 01, 2017, 08:26:10 PM »
After the reaction here on the night when Rhonda went down, it seems that a lot of people have mixed feeling about the match.  After having very little in challenges for her first fights, Rousey looked unstoppable until Holmes took her down.  Now with her tough defeat by Nunes, can Rousey come back if she wanted to.  After that first hard punch, she looked more like a nivice than an ex-champ.  Interested to see what the people here think the once shining star of the MMA should do next.

And yes, the final choice is for fun but feel free to answer that way if you feel inclined.

One of the many stupid decisions that Ronda made on comeback was not taking a tune up fight.  It also leaves us wondering if her freezing after 1st punch was totally due to Amanda hitting like a truck or if she would have frozen if she was hit by say Valentina or Pennington.
As a compassionate human I hope she retires,  finds peace and enjoys the rest of her life doing what she wants. She is financially set. Her mother can help guide her through the depression she is going to battle short term. Sometime in the future she can talk of her legacy and the mistakes she made..#1 staying with that clown Edmund. She can talk on how she did not evolve and it cost her against Holm and Nunes. She can come to terms with the fact that she had her time and now it is others.

Now the Catfight Forum HumiliationOne side of me would love to see her stick around and take a few more beatings.
I would guess her next fight would be the loser of Pena and Valentina. I see Pena with her great takedowns and ability to keep her opponent grounded winning this. That leaves Ronda to fight Valentina who will absolutely pick her apart. Her next fall down the ladder could put her in a rematch with Bethe Correa.  In first fight Ronda was able to take Bethe punches but this time Ronda can not and gets KOd.  Dana is forced to cut her from UFC. She fights in a regional MMA organization where she is KOd once more by a no name. Ending her career with 5 straight KO losses and becoming a punchline to many jokes.

Spend some time learning how to not be a classless POS that she's been all the way back to her judo days (according to her olympic coach). Maybe then she can actually live like an adult for once.
RIP the account of Sophie Cees.

A sexy barefoot jobber in the WWE  .. can you imagine Ronda getting a snap mare by her long blonde hair. Her barefeet slapping against the canvas.  Ronda getting choked on the ropes her bare feet kicking.
Cheers!

Love the idea of her being a barefoot jobber in WWE.

Obviously, one of her biggest "defects" (according to some analysts who clearly know more about MMA than me) is her choice of a coach who is terrible at his job. If true, that he failed to adequately prepare her to face strikers, than her only MMA related choice would be to change to someone who knows how to properly prepare his/her fighters.

But at age 30 (or so) I wonder if she has the time/willingness to undergo several years of re-training with no assurance she'd be successful?

She's already had overtures from WWE, and she's done some acting.... either (or both) could provide immediate gratification (and money) with little downside - other than the chance of failing at either/both of those careers after several nice paydays!

Ronda (it's assumed) no longer needs money - so (if true) that means MMA is no longer a requirement for her financially. "Entertainment" seems a wiser/safer choice; one where she could resurrect her reputation and become a "star" again.

I'd much rather see her doing something "legit" (even WWE) rather than lower herself to XXX-rated MMA-ish bouts which are merely porn parody and beneath her.

Killjoy.

Having said that despite her having been found out against the top quality fighters in UFC, I feel it may be slightly unfair on the lovely ladies of MMA-XXX if they had to face a vengeful Ronda Rousey in their next bout.

You left out the obvious option of working for WWE.   I could see either in-ring or announcing there as a viable possibility for her.
