UK Catfight Tournament Round 08
« on: February 13, 2010, 10:17:41 PM »
Half-way point of the tournament sees Emma Bunton and Liz McClarnon still undefeated.

Naomi Watts wants to bounce back from the painful loss to Liz McClarnon and looks to destroy Kate Beckinsale who scored an impressive win over Heidi Range in the previous round. Meanwhile Range has her work cut out against Liz McClarnon in the all-blonde clash which might turn really ugly as the music bussiness is known for a lot of hostility among the female singers.
Elizabeth Hurley stands tall over the petite Dannii Minogue but Dannii's confidence has improved thanks to a win over Rachel Stevens whereas Liz has been struggling recently. Catherine Zeta-Jones looks to crush Jenny Frost who barely returned to fitness following a brutal trashing suffered at the hands of Geri Halliwell. The spicy redhead tackles Rachel Stevens and is a clear favourite which also refers to Victoria Beckham in her fight vs the very brave but unsuccessful Roxanne Pallett.
Finally the undefeated leader Emma Bunton goes against the equally tough Nancy Sorrell while Gemma Atkinson starts as clear favourite against the much smaller Andrea Corr.

Lots of close fights so far. I LOVE IT! Here are my predictions:

Naomi Watts vs Kate Beckinsale - Both women want this win badly so they don't fall too far behind the leaders. I think the Aussie is more athletic and will overcome Kate even though is gives up 5" and is over 40. Kate will get the shorter woman down but won't be able to keep her there.

Heidi Range vs Liz McClarnon - Liz is undefeated and I see no reason that should change here. She is in my perfect fighting height range and will dominate the smaller and less skilled Heidi.

Elizabeth Hurley vs Dannii Minogue - Elizabeth is tougher than her 2-5 record but Dannii is most likely better than her 3-4 record also. Elizabeth was crushed by the small but tough Emma in her last fight and her confidence is now in question. Dannii has been read the riot act by her sister, Kylie, and will come out for blood. Look for the quick Dannii to get Elizabeth in trouble right away and keep her there.

Jenny Frost vs Catherine Zeta-Jones - Jenny tries to punch CZ-J's lights out but CZ-J just laughs at her feeble efforts. As suggested, she picks up the slender (even skinny?) blonde and dumps her in the trash bin - slamming the lid on her.

Rachel Stevens vs Geri Halliwell - a fast paced fight of two sorties. This fight will go back and forth until the very end until one of them runs out of gas. There seems to be a big Spice Girls set of fans here so I think that their support will energize Geri enough to win. But Rachel could take it if she gets angry at the crowd.

Victoria Beckham vs Roxanne Pallett - The crowd will be on Victoria's side and Roxanne has been the punching bag of the other women so far. I predict Roxanne will nail the cocky Victoria as she is strutting around in front of her fans. Victoria will be confused and dumbfounded and will never quite recover. I predict a big upset here.

Nancy Sorrell vs Emma Bunton - I keep saying little Emma is too small to win over women like Nancy within the height range I like (5.5" - 5'7"). Emma keeps proving me wrong. I don't know what there is about the little dynamo but she knows how to dismantle bigger foes. Have to bite my tongue and go with her this time but I think Nancy will let her know she was in a fight.

Andrea Corr vs Gemma Atkinson - Ever since I predicted that Gemma would be Geri Halliwell is has become "my girl" although I think she is too gangly and uncoordinated to win it all. She had a bad stretch of losing three fights in a row but lately has come on strong. At 5'1" Andrea is just too small and not skilled enjoy to take advantage of Gemma's weaknesses. Gemma will have an easy fight this time.

Three days left and this is the closest round thus far. Naomi's fighting spirit seems to still be holding on...

Round 8 is over.

Naomi Watts vs Kate Beckinsale
Naomi looked confident before the fight as Kate has suffered some unexpected losses, but the brunette has learned her lessons and clawed into Naomi without any warning. The blonde was stunned and crumbled under the blows which gave Kate even more confidence and she pounded her to the point Naomi couldn't take it anymore.

Heidi Range vs Liz McClarnon
The winning rout for Liz continues as she pummelled the guts out of fellow blonde without much trouble. Liz's confidence is sky-high at the moment while Heidi was dispatched easily and her record is going south.

Elizabeth Hurley vs Dannii Minogue
Dannii's speed kept her in touch for a long time but it was not nearly enough to put Liz into any trouble as the taller brunette gave her petite rival a solid trashing. Lots of punches and kicks to the head send Dannii down on the floor and unable to continue.

Jenny Frost vs Catherine Zeta-Jones
Catherine clobbered the hapless Jenny into one big mess and mercilessly dumped her into the above mentioned trash bin. Welsh brunette looks to improve her overall standings while Jenny is getting frustrated by the ammount of trashing she'd received lately.

Rachel Stevens vs Geri Halliwell
Rachel was anything but affraid of Geri's overall record and was keen on hairpulling the redhead out of her skin, but as it turned out, Geri was equally aggressive and gained the upper-hand as the contest went on. In the end Rachel dropped on her knees and Geri didn't need any more invitation to finish her off. While still pulling Rachel's hair, she delivered a few solid punches right in the face and the brunette couldn't handle it anymore and gave up.

Victoria Beckham vs Roxanne Pallett
Roxanne jumped in aganist the aggressive Victoria and bodyscissored her waist but Victoria proved too strong to get into any trouble. She shrugged off her petite rival and by the time Roxanne got up on her feet she received a huge kick right in the face which send her down again. Victoria came down like a falcon on the stunned opponent and pounded her guts out to secure her third victory whereas Roxanne is still looking to get off the mark.

Nancy Sorrell vs Emma Bunton
If Emma ever considered a fight then Nancy was the one who could break her winning streak. However the overall lead seemed to gave the petite blonde massive confidence and she tore into Nancy right from the start. The barrage of face & body slapping pushed Nancy into defence and Emma jumped on her and wrapped her legs around her waist. The taller blonde couldn't shrug her off and fell down on the floor where Emma continued applying the hold and Nancy's fighting will eventually evaporated. In the fear of suffering broken ribs she tapped out in vain.

Andrea Corr vs Gemma Atkinson
This was one-sided right from the start as Andrea couldn't do absolutely nothing against the much taller Gemma. Blonde quickly got hold of the brunette and began throwing her around left, right and centre. Eventually she pinned Andrera on the ground and knee-trapped her neck which was more then enough for the brunette to submit.
