Is DWW Out of Business? What About Other Companies?
« on: May 30, 2017, 05:19:56 AM »
Today Someone pointed out to me that the DWW Site is now down.  Did they go out of business?  I noticed they had not updated it for a couple years and I had heard a Rumor that the Owner had passed away.  Does anyone know for sure?

This also got me thinking about how many great female fighting companies have gone out of business and I wonder not only who, but why?  Did the owners just eventually die off or did the companies simply go under? I can think of a lot of them that are gone, such as California Supreme, C&B Video, Ringmaster, Judell Dulong, Mildred Burke (I Know she passed away a long time ago), Fight Time, Flamingo, Crystal Films (that one hurt), Triumph Studios, Saturn Video, Lady Hawke, Lady Ellen, Wrestling Tweety and Women Warriors.

Does anyone know why these companies went out of business?

On another note,  last week I posted an inquiry about Jeff The Ref whom according to some of the replies I got sadly passed away.  He didn't seem that old, but that also got me thinking about the mortality of some of our favorite fighters.  I recently learned that Roselyn Royce of Golden Girls passed away a decade or so back, but they amazingly are still in business.  Another was Santana who was sadly was murdered last year.   I don't mean to put a morbid twist to this posting, but I was curious how many of our other favorite female fighters have left us.

Many of us have enjoyed the material from these companies and fighters for decades and in my humble opinion someone should put up a memoriam website about that to let all of us fans know what became of them.

Most likely because of the money involved.  Honestly, unless you have a very deep interest in this fetish and deep pockets to match, plus a willingness to "share" with others, you're looking at a money pit.  The women don't fight for free.  The equipment to record the fight isn't cheap, and then there's model releases, duplication of the original to meet sales, marketing, etc., etc.   Frankly,  I'm surprised any producers are still in business, and that there are still start-ups.  Why?  (Speaking from experience now) Because once you sell a fight, it'll be all over the Internet for free within a month of your first sale because one  jackhole will upload it to some site thinking that because he bought it, he could do whatever he wanted with it.  This was back in the late 90s but it goes on to this day.  I sold that video for 30 bucks.  I had 5 sales.  I pocketed $150, which is half of what I paid the amateur women who fought to the finish (topless boxing)  Because HEY!?  Why should any one else buy it when they can just get it for free on pornhub?  (it's since been taken down, another hassle)  So whenever you download a 'pirated' video, just remember you're stealing money from producers.  Money they could use to continue to fulfill your fantasies.  Then realize you're only cutting off you nose to spite your face.   I have many more fights of the same genre which will never see the light of day for that very reason.

Maybe I'm different, but when I see a match on a video site, I usually buy it or other videos by that producer. For example, that's what got me into the Academy stuff. Sadly, I kept thinking it was just an Ultimate Surrender like thing and ignored it. By the time I found out it wasn't, they weren't producing anymore due to Bruce's passing and now what they produce isn't as good in my opinion. But if I had never see their stuff on pornhub or wherever, I would never have found them. And trust me, I've bought quite a bit of their stuff. I think maybe producers should look into using the videos as marketing and try to evolve instead of shying away from it. Offering a free match or something every so often to entice people. I think the reason why people have turned to watching free movies is because of the inconsistent quality and because, let's face it, producers lie. I've seen some companies say how competitive their stuff is...And yet it's fake. It's obviously fake. Or because some producers say how action filled their matches are, only to find 20 minutes of roll around stuff. This is something that other industries have struggled to deal with as well, but they're evolving. For some reason, our little fetish is having trouble with that.

I think someone is still selling the DWW products online. I had bought many Vhs tapes from them in the early 1990s and I feel some of these were the best.... but unfortunately I cant find those anywhere on You tube .... Love to find Antonio vs Timea in a boxing match that was held in  a large room.  Timea started to come back strong towards the end of the fight... would have loved to see if they fought longer if Timea would have ended up winning.

I agree with a lot of what MaskedBunny said. I will download a pirated video, if I'm not sure of the quality. If I like it, I will check out the company and buy more their stuff. You can only tell so much by a short clip, and some companies do not even offer clips.

But from a fallen tree new branches always come out, from the first years of DWW came Foxicombat, and then with the closing of DWW salio fighting-dolls i trib-dolls.
It is true that many products are a disgust, or a scam, but that happens in the products mainly USA in the European fights are more real

I liked triumph the best. girls couldn't have been prettier. and action was great. time fly's. people move on . and sadly die. I think the 80's
when video's first came out will all way's be the golden age. tech made some things better but most not. would give anything to feel like I did in that era.
