Exquisite Mayhem - A book on the photos of Theo Ehret
« on: July 01, 2017, 08:56:48 AM »
Apologies if this was discussed before but another site I go to mentioned this book : Exquisite Mayhem : The spectacular and erotic world of wrestling.. It is a 500 plus page book featuring the photos of Theo Ehret who was a sports photographer in the 60, 70's and 80's whose work was staff photographer in the Grand Olympic Auditorium in LA  and later the guy who did something a bit more familiar to some of the people on this forum :

The link for the site selling the book is here but you can also find it on amazon. https://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/sex/all/45506/facts.exquisite_mayhem_the_spectacular_and_erotic_world_of_wrestling.htm
https://megforrest.blogspot.com/ used to post stuff there. You will have to log into goggle to see it

The biggest fakes here are those posing as humans.

Death will not be a tragedy but an inconvenience for others.

I posted about this book during the time when everything got reset.  I bought this book when it first came out and it my favorite book when dealing with pics of female fighting though has a lot of regular wrestlers too.

I had to buy it through an independent bookstore because Border or Barnes and Nobles wouldn't order it.

There are a lot of great photos taken from all the classic apartment house wrestling shoots where the women went nude.
Someone shared them all online once and I wish I had saved them.  I have my own copy of the book but scanning the huge
thing is next to impossible, it weighs a ton.  I wish if someone had those original high quality scans they would share them
again because they are truly amazing.

I remember reading an interview with Ehret where he stated that the hardest thing about shooting the "apartment" matches was to get the models to stop laughing.

That book certainly has gone through multiple printings, the cover is new.

The original cover was this classic picture of Rosemary Lorenz and Seka going at it.

Not got a copy, but glad to see Cynara is in it. She always had an aura of knowing what it's all about...

I saw this book once and was disappointed to find out that there were no photos of the classic match between Rosemary Lorenz and Rhonda Jo Petty.  My all time favorite catfight.

I had a copy for years, finally sold it to a used book store, it's just not the type of thing you give to Salvation Army.

It's funny, I remember seeing these photos as a kid and thinking if I ever did witness a catfight, the women would wind up in these incredible positions.
