Suburban Shootout, a tv series made in the UK in 2007 had an episode called In it for the Wild Life/Fight Club. The series, set in an affect area, was a spoof but in this episode, Lillian Gordon Moore witnesses an argument between two women over a parking space. The watching lady talks to the man collecting the trolleys who tells her this happens several times a week. The lady goes to the women who are now name calling and threatening each other and suggests they go behind the supermarket to settle it. All three women disappear and when they return the two fighter look dishevelled. Lillian has a money making brainwave. She starts an all female fight club which ladies will pay to join and audience pay to watch. The venue is a barn and each meeting features several fights.
In cafes and at coffee mornings Lillian quizes women and listens to all the gossip and from this learns of women who have grievences, either long standing or currant. She phones these women and tells each of them that the other wants to fight her. Thinking they are the one challenged and of the gossip if they refuse, the ladies agree to fight. The fights featured pairing of ladies from their 30s to 60s.
Unfortunately the series was played for laughs and the fights over staged and choreographed. The thoughts behind it could fuel many a fantasy.
