The result of the 5th senior boxing title match was surrounded in controversy. Mid-way through the 6th round a double knock down left both fighters unable to beat the ten count. Rather than call the match a draw, referee Gabi opted to continue counting until one fighter was able to stand unaided. At 14 Miss Tee managed to stand hesitantly, taking one step away from the ropes before collapsing to her knees, and Gabi awarded the fight to her. Seconds later it became clear that Ellen was actually in better shape than the brunette and, having won three of the five preceding rounds, many felt the title should have been awarded to her.
A hastily convened tribunal studied the footage of the fight and took evidence from the referee, seconds and timekeeper before ruling that the result would stand but that a rematch would take place before the start of the next senior boxing tournament and the winner of the rematch would carry the title into the tournament.
11 months later Ellen and Tee are in the ring, facing each other again to settle the matter. This time both fighters enter the ring naked except for gloves and boots.

Ellen has dominated the first round and it comes as no surprise that she takes all six of the judges’ points and goes into round two leading by 10 points to nil.
As the bell sounds for round two Tee is on her feet and looks to have recovered some of her poise but Ellen isn’t about to let up and quickly has the brunette on the back foot.
One minute into the round Ellen’s right hook finds Tee’s jaw again and the brunette drops to her hands and knees. As the count reaches four she glances across at her opponent. The Tee look, that mix of anger and determination, is back as she pushes herself back to her feet and resumes her guard.
Ellen closes in but is quickly shut down as Tee goes on the attack. A flurry of punches sees the blonde covering up and retreating for the first time in the match. At the two-minute mark a right uppercut finds Ellen’s jaw and she goes down for the first time.
Ellen is quickly on her feet but doesn’t seem to have fully recovered and a few seconds later a left hook from Tee connects with her temple and she goes down for a second time. This time she takes the full 9 count to recover and spends the rest of the round back pedalling and covering up as Tee changes up a gear and attacks.
This time when the round ends it’s Tee who has her head high as she returns to her corner and Ellen who seems slightly shaken. None the less she has taken two points and gets a further two from the judges so she is still leading 14-8 as they come out for round three.
For the first minute or so of the round the pair seem evenly matched but then Tee ups the pace again and Ellen goes on the back foot. Half way through the round Tee gets through the blonde’s defences with another right hook and Ellen goes down for the third time in the fight. She lays face down on the mat as Gabi starts counting before pushing herself up and getting unsteadily to her feet as the count reaches 9.
Sensing victory Tee charges at the punch-drunk blonde. But Ellen is far from finished, she sidesteps the brunette and delivers a clubbing left hook to the side of Tee’s head. Tee staggers into the ropes, grabbing the top one to save herself from going down.
Gabi steps in to give Tee a standing count. Tee steadies herself and curses. Her rash move has cost her a point. But Ellen is far from recovered and, when the action resumes, Tee quickly has the blonde back on the defensive and backing up.
With thirty seconds of the round remaining a straight right from the brunette catches Ellen just below the heart and she drops to one knee with a pained expression on her face. Erica does her best during the break but her fighter seems far from recovered as she comes out for round four. Tee quickly overwhelms Ellen and she retreats around the ring until, after about thirty seconds, a right hook to the temple drops her to the mat again.
She makes it up at 9 but walks straight into a left hook which connects with her right boob. Her guard comes down and Tee’s follow up right cross catches her on the jaw, knocking her flat on her back.
Ellen struggles to her feet again, just beating the count, and manages to hold the brunette off for another minute until, just before the two-minute mark, another clubbing right hook from Tee catches her on the side of the head and she goes face down again.

Gabi starts counting and Tee takes a moment to collect herself before getting to her feet at 8 and raising her guard. From outside the ring Erica screams at Ellen to finish her opponent off but Gabi steps in a gives Tee a standing count and the chance to get back to the centre of the ring and a bit of space.
With the count over Ellen attacks again and, as the last few seconds of round five tick away, slams a solid right into Tee’s solar plexus, felling the brunette like a tree.
Once again Tee doggedly struggles to her feet and resumes her guard. Just a few minutes ago she was on the brink of victory, now she its struggling for survival. Such is the nature of the fight game.
The bell sounds for the end of the round, saving Tee from further punishment. She has been completely dominated for the past three minutes. As she reaches her corner, she sinks gratefully onto her stool as Emily sets about trying to rejuvenate her. While we can’t hear what the pair are saying Tee looks tired and worried as she speaks to her trainer who is clearly doing her best to reassure her fighter.
By contrast Ellen seems to have recovered from her earlier beating and is now in control of the fight again. Three knock downs and a standing count have given her all six of the judges’ points narrowing the gap to just five points going into the final round. Once again, it’s all to play for but Ellen looks to be in much better shape as they prepare to come out for the 6th round.
The bell rings for the start of the final round. The girls come out of their corners and face off, guards raised and bobbing gently. Tee seems hesitant while Ellen is surer footed. As they briefly dance Ellen sizes up the brunette and, picking her moment, goes on the attack.
A flurry of punches from the blonde backs Tee up to the ropes before a solid right upper cut drops her to her hands and knees. Tee stares at the canvas and spits out her gum shield with a stream of blood and saliva.
Gabi counts to 9 as Tee slowly regains her feet and helps her with her gum shield as Ellen watches from a neutral corner. She is now just three points behind and, on current performance, all six judges’ points were headed Ellen’s way.
Tee has to pull something out of the bag if she is to retain her title but she looks done in. On her feet but with her eyes glazed, her stance is unsteady and her guard low.
Gabi waves Ellen back in and the blonde immediately delivers a solid right cross that connects with Tee’s temple and sends her staggering sideways. Ellen follows up with a straight left which connects with Tee’s right breast, bringing her guard down. Finally, Ellen throws a right upper cut to the jaw that snaps the brunette’s head back and puts her flat on her back.

At the sound of the bell Ellen moves to the blue corner where Erica gleefully fits the strap on to her. Tee remains on her back in the middle of the ring. She now seems to be conscious but whether she knows what’s about to happen is unclear.
Eschewing the normal formalities, Gabi announces the result with the brunette still lying on the deck: “Ladies and gentlemen, after one minute and forty seconds of round six, your winner by a knockout and the new senior boxing champion, Ellen!”
