Next Gen of Catfight Fans?
« on: June 30, 2021, 11:14:18 PM »
I'm 45 y/o  life long Catfight fan who has been buying videos and going to live events for over 25 years. Going to live events I found myself being one of the youngest people there with most in their 50-60's. Most of these old school baby boomer fans are starting to die out, I find myself wondering that will happen in the future?
I fear that the new fans will no longer buy the videos or book the sessions that fueled all the great matches in the 90's and 2000's
Where is this fetish going and how can we as fans make sure there is money for the new gen of  fighters that will shoot future matches?

You're on to something.  Next generation will just watch whatever they think they're interested in on YouTube for 20 minutes at 3am, then move on to something else (like Top 5 Conan O'Brien 'In the Year 2000' predictions).

Maybe they'll be more into reading to fill the void left in them from watching all of the bubblegum, instant gratification from the internet.... and I have a perfect series for them. It follows a brave, close to middle aged woman who dons a pin and seeks out other women to see who is the top cat!   8)

I think our interest peaked in the 80's to 90's when you suddenly could make a sexy fight film with nothing but a couple willing women and a video camera.  It was sexy and titillating without being straight pornographic.  You could see messy wrestling and foxy boxing in your local honky tonk bar and bring your gf with you without her calling you a freak.  It was probably the sexiest thing either of you had ever seen.  Now by the time most kids are adults they have seen thousands of hours of porn including hard core stuff we coulldn't even imagine where to find.  They don't watch boxing matches, they watch MMA.  And it isn't even a special event.  You can find any fight anywhere on the internet in 20 seconds.  To them our interest is so tame it barely qualifies as sexual.  Of course there are some among them that has been bitten by the bug and a few will even buy videos online.  But I think we are going to see slowly diminishing interest in this until we are all gone.  I think the only hope of it continuing is getting young women interested in it as an act of empowerment.  Young men... they have 10 million hours of straight up no messing around porn to watch... they don't have time to watch a couple women roll around pulling hair.
I love catfights and chatting.  Look me up on trillian at ljack66   (I think... just figuring Trillian out)

There will be young men that get into Catfights in future. I think the trouble is that this new Gen doesn't want to pay to watch new videos and will mostly watch what is posted for free online.  Another issue is many fans now do cyber matches and never get into watching irl fights :(

I hadn’t gave it much thought but I do think you are correct. When I joined way back when, this was a busy site. I would log on a couple times a week and there would be lots of new postings and lots of reply’s to the previous postings. I don’t have numbers or facts to back my thinking. But I don’t think there is but a small fraction of the postings and reply’s there were in the past. I won’t log on for a couple months now, and it doesn’t seem like a lot of new postings have been posted.

I feel the old school Catfight video fans are dying out and the new fans taking their place are more into cyber and not irl so have no idea what we old guy and girls are posting about.   I go into the chat room now with 50 people in there and maybe 1 or 2 or posting for everyone to see and most will not respond when sent a message.  Back in the 2000's if that many people in chat would have a ton of people posting about irl fighters and only a few doing cyber.
You might have as many active fans today as back in early days, but far fewer interesting posts and group chats.
Please anyone under the age of 30 please prove me wrong and respond that you are a fan of irl fighters and pay even $15 for  download to support future matches.

I hope we older fans aren’t “dying off” just yet  Lol but I see your point. When I found and joined this site.I was probably in my later 40’s as were most of my friends and many of my co workers. I worked at the head quarters of a major insurance company for over 30 years. There were several thousand working there, most were women. There was all the common issues and feuds. A physical catfight was rare but they did occur. That is what made them so exciting and such a hot topic of gossip. Now I’m retired and we all are many years older. Not many of us are too likely to find ourselves in a physical tussle now. It seems the young to middle aged people either don’t settle issues with a common tussle anymore or aren’t as excited about it as we were back in our time.

Catfights were in 80s films and most wrestling magazines. I still remember seeing the ads for vhs tapes.
The 90s had fighting females magazine which was nice too. The free tube sites means that everything is available instantly.
Porn and catfight  Producers couldn't release the same scene on different DVDs and get away with it.

Older fans like myself wil pay for good catfight scenes online to keep the producers in business. But new fans will want it on a netflix/only fans platform

Sadly this post proves my point. Not one person under 30 has posted to push back on idea that younger fans will not pay for new matches and don't pay attention to anything we gray hairs have to say :(

Interesting question and observations.

I think that a fetish is something that is going to continue to exist.  Every generation has its percentage of men who are aroused by the spectacle of two women physically competing against each other.  That's not going to change.   This isn't like football, which is seeing a dramatic decline in interest among the younger generations, both in participation and in fan appeal.  What will change, as has been noted above, is the industry itself.  How does a company capture the demand for this type of material and still squeeze out a profit?   With all of the pirating and free material available, I wonder if that's going to be possible.  So if the producers pack it in, where will one find material to watch?  The movies?

If the only place that new catfights are going to be produced is in full length movie, then the only thing that we're going to see are the "new age" karate kicking, bloody, slugfests that we're seeing now, not the age-old hair-pulling, slapping, clothes tearing ones that followers of our fetish truly enjoy.  No Crystal, no California Wildcats, etc., etc.  Hence, the material that we like will only be available for viewing on free sites (like Youtube) and it will be the stuff that we've seen for years.  No one will be producing any new stuff.

Oh well, times change.  Just my take.

I'm a 27yr old male from the US. I've purchased a couple of fights but here's why I dont like to buy fights. 1) I dont want to pay $20+ for every fight   2) some of the fights dont be worth the price tag because of fights being stopped early etc
