In my early 20s, I was in a circle of couples who still didn't have any kids, except for one of the women, a tall attractive blonde named Denise, who had a 7-year old daughter that she had had when she was still single and 17 or so (while still in high school we were pretty sure--altho it was obvious she was uncomfortable discussing the details). Another woman in the circle, Amy, especially when the drinks would get flowing, would ride Denise merciliessly about the circumstances of her "Teen Mom" out-of-wedlock child. Denise would shut up and take it for the longest time (she was obviously still embarrassed by whatever the circumstances had been), until one day she heard that Amy and Amy's husband had been trying to get preganant and were having no luck, so then Denise would start standing up for herself by riding Amy right back ("Get a plus yet when you peed on the stick, Amy?"), and the comments between Denise and Amy started getting uncomfortably nasty. It all culminated in one day Denise being in the grocery store, and a gentle-but-creepy elderly man trying to stalk Denise, and Denise trying to politely shake him so she could get her shopping done. She sees, coincidentally but conveniently, Amy's man in the store running some errand, and starts flamboyantly talking to him, including hugging him, trying to make the lonely elderly man think it was Denise's husband. The elderly man goes, "Oh, is this your husband?", and Denise goes, "Yes, look!", and gives Amy's husband a wet sloppy kiss on the lips. The trick worked, since the elderly man backed off quickly. Which caused Denise to give Amy's husband a long, wet thank you kiss. Well, anyways, the next night we're all drinking, and Denise blurts out, "Amy, your husband saved my life at Stop-N-Shop yesterday," and repeats the whole story, including the long passionate kisses in detail, and what a good kisser Amy's husband was. The veins in Amy's forehead started throbbing, and it was obvious Denise was calling Amy out, and Amy was just weighing if she was going to realiate in front of all of us, or alone later 1on1 with Denise (or maybe even alone later with Denise's husband). All of us women were rooting for the former, but Amy's husband took Amy home before the confrontation could escalate. Then all of the women started speculating about who would win a brawl between Denise and Amy.
