I have often encountered a plot where a man arranges a duel between women. These can be a wife and a mistress, two mistresses or candidates for the role of a girlfriend. He sets a condition that he will stay with the winner. The loser must leave. This is literature, fantasy. How are things in real life? Girls, women, please write, would you fight for a man if he demanded it of you?
I mean, specifically the man's initiative. Not the situation when you decide to confront some bitch yourself.

Of course I would fight. If he presented me with another woman who wanted to take my place, I would be ready for a fight for all or nothing. He can also set the rules and what clothes we should or shouldn't wear.

Would i fight another woman if told to do so by a man? Clearly not. I would fight another woman but not at anyones say so, that would be between me and the other bitch.

The only way i could see that happening is if the guy is paying for the fight and even then my answer would be NO!!

No. I believe that the very fact that a man asks such a question indicates that he does not respect you. After all, a fight doesn't show which of two women is better, which is smarter, more interesting, more beautiful, more passionate in bed. A fight only determines who fights better. That's all. A man knows this very well, unless he is an idiot, of course. And if he offers you something like this, then he is only interested in the spectacle, and not in you yourself. That's what I think.

This scenario in my opinion is obscene and peak male fantasy. No way in hell would I ever allow myself to be used and manipulated like this. In this scenario I would roll my eyes, punch the bastard in his face and leave. I would also encourage my would be rival to do the same. Catfighting is not a fucking sport people, it is violent and nasty, the risks are extremely real. Its not something to do on a whim or for the entertainment of others, at least that is my opinion.

Now if in this scenario the man (and I use the term loosely) were to offer a cash prize for a catfight? I would still personally say hell no, however I can at least understand why other women would say yes.

Last summer, something happened to me. I was in a bad relationship with my friend Liz at the time. And one asshole decided to take advantage of that. He said a bunch of nasty things to her, supposedly on my behalf. Said that I was spreading nasty rumors about her, that she was a whore and all that. I didn't talk to this idiot myself, but he, through our mutual friend Victoria, told me that Liz had told everyone about my stepfather and a lot of other things. I was furious. Liz was also furious. We were ready to kill each other. And the damn asshole rubbed his hands and beamed with happiness.

I was going crazy for about a week. All this time I continued to wind myself up. Finally I decided to talk to Liz. But it turned out that she blocked me on all her social networks and her phone number also became unavailable to me. Then I stopped doubting, I decided that since she was hiding, it meant it was all true and she was a bitch and a traitor. I told Victoria that I was going to meet Liz and tell her face to face everything I thought about her. Victoria started begging me not to do it. She is very sweet and she didn't want Liz and I to fight. The situation was heating up. A certain Christina appeared, introduced herself as my friend and said a bunch of nasty things to Liz, allegedly on my behalf. This Christina also started to set Victoria against me. I told Victoria that I don't know any Christina and have never met her. Here I had doubts. I don't know any Kristina, and she says that she is my friend. Clearly someone is trying to make us quarrel. Then I decided to take a desperate step. I waylaid Liz when she was returning from work. When she saw me, she panicked, she thought I was going to fight her. But I just wanted to talk. We went to a cafe and told each other everything. And as soon as we started talking, all the lies that Andrey had woven fell apart like a house of cards. This Andrey tried to court me earlier. But I turned him down. Then he started hitting on Victoria, but she also turned him down. He decided it was because of me and tried to get revenge on me by pitting me against Liz. He really wanted us to fight. And he almost succeeded.

Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago, but it wasn't a man who pitted us against each other it was a woman and she succeeded I fought my friend now exfriend because of that bitch, it honestly sucks when something like that happens.

Great comments by Olga, Kate, Alexandra and Erin.  To be expected to, or tricked into a fight with another woman for someone else's entertainment is totally disrespectful of women.  In my own case, I had fights with another woman because I wanted to experience it, and the only other people involved were two other women to intercede if the fight got out of hand.  I get the idea that many men (and women) find fights between women exciting, but it's not something that should be inflicted on women by those looking for a thrill.  If two women desire to fight for whatever reason, it should be their choice, and theirs alone.

This is true, well at least in my experience. I've seen it in the workplace, seen it while at university and I saw it amongst my circle of friends.

I suppose the question is now then: is this a legitimate tactic us girls should use? Would you for example look down on someone if say she used said tactic to trick two girls who you didn't like into fighting?

And for the record, I've not done this myself but I've seen it done and honestly I was delighted with the results

In my experience, girls often like it when men fight over them. I've seen this many times. As for girls, it's more about arguments than fights. Although, anything can happen.

I think this is the most common reason for female fights. I've had fights over it.  Because of these reasons, we fight much more often than over men.
