Quote from: Kiva on August 16, 2026, 04:35:12 AMMy lip is split and swelling. The left side of my face has that flushed, puffy heat that slaps leave. Margot takes her turn in the bathroom, and when she stands, she's just as ruined as I was with swollen cheek, black-streaked eyes, a red welt blooming where I caught her with the last slap.
Great story. A tad bit violent for me, but it still got me sexually aroused.  ;D

This was wonderful and sweet. A great setting, a rough fight but a sweet ending. Thank you. Loved the scissors for the win as well!

This is so cleverly constructed and beautifully written that it's even better on a second reading. Even before the fight begins, the narrative is wonderfully rich in vivid details - the description of the venue, the catering, the music, the guests, the speech, the conversations, the woman crying in the ladies' room for reasons unknown, the kitsch opulence of the bridal suite, the deer one has to watch out for on the way home ... - and the Joni Mitchell song is perfectly chosen, though you've brought to it something that is really a Kiva trademark: a narrative that veers between wry irony and outrageous farce. It's poignant without being sentimental and sexy without descending into porn.
Really exquisite. Far better than I had any right to expect.

Thank you, Tiberius. I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter. You are a talented writer with excellent command of the English language. So, your kind words mean a lot to me.

This might not have been my best fight story, but I think it's one of my better writing efforts. Weddings can be a mix of emotions. They're wonderful and exciting, but can evoke anxiety. Individuals and families bring their baggage to them (like Kiva and Margot do here). It's worse when alcohol is involved. So, it was important that I got the venue and tone from Kiva's perspective down well. The woman crying in the restroom for unknown reasons was a late afterthought. I put it in to heighten the overall emotional vibe.

Thank you all for reading. I've been saying I want to bring this series to an end. Would y'all like one more one-off chapter or should I launch the final story arc next (will take several chapters)?
Don't bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend thirty seconds in my head. That'll freak you right out.

Another one-off, then the final arc

The more, the merrier, if I had my way; but do what your own instincts tell you.

One more off chapter before starting the final arc if it suits you but that's me being selfish to read one more of your stories  ;)
Be curious, not judgemental.

LOL
This was when it went from being simply a fascinating story to, well, something else as well ;D for me:
Margot stands beside the bed in a black bra and matching laced panties, her hair still pinned up but now with a few loose strands around her face. Barefoot on the cream carpet. The maid of honor, the Houston attorney, the woman who read me like a book across the ice sculpture distilled to this. She's leaner than the green silk suggested, with a faint softness at her belly. Good shoulders. Runner's legs. In her late thirties, she's maintained herself well.
A real woman - intelligent, attractive (with imperfections, of course) and basically a good person but with a gratuitously brutal candour that I found ugly (some people are so keen to show off their acuity that they hurt others for no better reason than to satisfy their own vanity), so when Kiva trapped her neck between her thighs, and she tapped, but Kiva, politely but firmly, insisted on a verbal submission... well ... (choirs of angels).
I'd love to think of them becoming friends now, but Kiva's the better woman - in every way.
