Jean Reno at least made his scenes watchable.  His pointless, pointless scenes in a basketball arena filled with raptors.

Here's a Godzilla movie - half of it is a romantic comedy with a pudgy Ferris Bueller and half of it is a cheap Jurassic Park remake with lots of Knicks product placement.

In between there's an iguana eating fish.

Jesus.

Yeah, the new one looks pretty fucking incredible.

I mean, it's gonna have to try pretty hard to beat Godzilla: Final Wars for ME, at least, but it looks like it'll give it a try.

You haven't even mentioned...the eggs...

Final Wars was amazing, but I'm a sucker for some good old Kaiju Wrasslin'.  I'm hoping this one delivers.

It's too much to hope for other kaiju for the first movie, PROBABLY.  It looks like the classic Godzilla vs. Armies of Man set-up. I do like how the Americans hear that there is some sort of radioactive colossus destroying entire countrysides and razing cities like the Romans taking Carthage, and their first thought is -

PARATROOPERS.

I'm hoping the paratroopers idea makes sense in context.  And you do know it has been widely reported that there are other kaiju in the first movie. The Asia trailer kinda shows one. Almost.

Wasn't Final Wars... where they had the more normal style Godzilla .. trash the Mathew Broderick version, in like 10 seconds??
Kind of like fastest elimination in a royal rumble match.... Enters the ring.. Gets grabbed and tossed out the other side..
Think Jerry the king Lawler held that for awhile.. I'm sure someone else has the embarassment of beating his time by now...  He he he

Because fuck Zilla and the Sydney Opera House -

The soundtrack by Sum 41 makes it for me.  I use that song when I'm playing a super-annoying heel.

I finally got around to watching American Hustle after it finally finished torrenting and man ...

... Christian Bale makes one convincing neurotic heavyset balding New York Jewish guy.

Watching this side by side with American Psycho would make your head explode.

Since several of you seem to be G-fans ... maybe check a few other monsterous areas with you... See if you know anything about these 2.

Mothra ... Yes they did do some fairly impressive, hi tech modern movies. Starring the giant winged moth. Yet not sure they ever revealed all in storyline...  Had Battra?? earth guardian beaten..  Mothra supposed to head into space. To take that monsters place. Facing some future threat. Yet not sure they ever revealed what it was or completed it.

Gamera.... Same thing... they did a few more modern ones with this character.. (BTW nice little add in, one of the Zilla movies. Having part of a giant turtle wash up, having been killed at sea.
Anyways.. they began revealing Gamera was some kind of Atlantean super weapon .. Last one seen. Had him battling this seemingly unbeatable foe. That kept reproducing itself.... Ending, with a need one more to fnish arc.. Yet not sure this one got completed either.

PHANTASM.... Horror and gore fans.. YES they are finishing up.. A NEW.. and supposedly final movie to story arc. Phantasm Ravager?? Think it is.

Ok ... nuff for now ..

A new Phantasm?  I was never really sure what that spiky ball brought to the table that we couldn't from the Hellraiser series.

Adding in a very creepy angus scrimm (Tall man)... mausoleums and wonderfully creepy settings ... Entire small towns disappearing populance. Brain drilling spheres .... and yeahhh those creepy non human dwarf creatures ,,,  Gotta admit .. very good for that weird you out feelings. Way before they had the tech to play with. Like Hellraiser or those Japanese like Ringu and others.
For when this series began .. It set the pathways.. for something new and unique. Among the horror genres at the time.

... all right, clearly I need to watch Phantasm again.

Know what I wanna see a remake of? Puppet Master.  I loved the first five or six of those.

I have a Blade puppet toy somewhere, I think ...
