... all right, clearly I need to watch Phantasm again.

Know what I wanna see a remake of? Puppet Master.  I loved the first five or six of those.

I have a Blade puppet toy somewhere, I think ...

You still may not get it tho. Many of the tropes Phantasm created seem sterotypical of the genre now when it was new back then.

The original Phantasm ... Will admit by todays tech and effects may seem a bit clunky in parts ... Not sure if it is first or the sequal. Where guy tries lopping off his own hand, pinned, as the sphere closes in, for a head shot.. Was kind of nice... even the villains own workers. Could be subject to being killed, from those nasty weapons. He he he.

Still as they got into the sequals it really did get into some creep you out eerie groove. Part of it simply foreshadowing or letting you know things or showing you enough. That your mind takes over. Like following the trail of the Tall man... through small towns. Where all the people had been harvested or left in hiding.

PuppetMaster  agree something very different ...  as well.

BTW ok hearing some pros and some cons ... Anyone yet actually seen new spider man??  Thoughts and comments from that??

I'm being judicious with my movie budget this year. Saw Captain America because he's my favorite Marvel. Passing on seeing Spider Man because I see Gwen Stacy falling in the trailer. Nothing good happens when Gwen Stacy is falling.  So I'm waiting on DVD for that one.

I am going to go for Godzilla and if I like it, I will throw all my money at it so it is a blockbuster. Then I have to see X-Men: DOFP because it looks awesome.  Also need to see Guardians of the Galaxy. Edge of Tomorrow looks good.  And and and...see my issue. This looks like a really good year for movies.

Oohhh... Alien. The original. GENIUS suspense that was WAY ahead of it's time.

And Serendipity. Pretty much anything with John Cusack really...

ALien .. spawned a LOT of imitators.. Yet definate high marks for suspense!! Loved Aliens .... Anyone see Prometheus?? Supposed to kind of be prequal to Alien series..

Another fun one.. Anyone else fan of Resident Evil series??  BTW Anyone know how many times Michelle Rodriguez has died in the series now??
I think she is hot .. yet she ALWAYS seems to die in her movies ...

Thinking I am going to do like Red and pass on Spider man in theater.. Someone mentioned maybe like sinister six in comics. They do unleash several villains. Yet short and only near the end ...

Godzilla will wait... maybe in theater depends on word of mouth.. Know a few major G-fans.. One even had artist draw him, standing by Godzilla like they were buddies. At comicon one year. KNOW they will have to go!!

Transformers dinobots .. Will probably hit in theaters.. Though I think all the main decepticons I knew. Got dusted in first trilogy. So wonder who will lead the enemy forces.

Ok ...... and awayyyyy we go..
GEMMA great seeing you add in!!

Resident Evil? I'm a firm believer that Paul W.S. Anderson needs the shit kicked out of him...

He is the franchise apocalypse!

And Godzilla... Although I'm not excited much by it, You have to see it in the cinema just for the noise! Nothing goes Ka-Boom like a cinema speaker!

Anderson isn't as bad as Uwe Boll. *shudder*

I agree with the big boom there. I want to hear that roar in full digital sound.

I want to make a movie where Michelle Rodriguez and Sean Bean are the only actors to survive to the end. It'd be the twist of all twists.

Oh and I forgot about Transformers! I must see Grimlock!  He helped satisfy my Godzilla needs when the original guy wasn't available.

Fucking Transformers isn't getting one more of my thin dimes unless they do it as a cartoon.

Ooops sorry ... managed to not add new message past all the quote  soo

That and I have to agree about theater sounds.. OMG how incredible could G-Zilla Final Wars or S.O.S. Tokyo be with that sound system??

Some movies just can't be matched, without the large screen and theater sound ... Twister kicked ass in the theater.. Not sure who is a fan of them..
YET if they have ANY brains at all .. LORD of the Rings.. Definately needs to be re-released in order, in theaters. After third installment of Hobbit is done.
THEY would make a fresh killing!! Some of those charges and epic battle scenes.. ONLY big screen can do justice to.
That would probably recapture a LOT of the costs of making Hobbit, if they do.

Hey it worked for Titanic and some disney animated so why not??

Red twist in movies .. (Sighh Michelle also died in Avatar and others as well..) The ultimate epic disaster with a twist YES we all know the saga and how Titanic ends.. WELL not this time MY version..
Just as they begin to sight land, east coast of America.
The Hindenburg crashes down into it, bursting into flame, and sinking them both.. How about that for a twist??

But it has Madame Pompadour from Doctor Who in it!

As far as Elektra goes, they are doing a Daredevil series on Netflix out next year I believe. She may show up there.

The Hindenburg disaster LOOKED very impressive, but really it was just quick-burning hydrogen and doped painted canvas and wood struts.  While that would not be GREAT for the Titanic's paint job, it certainly wouldn't sink it.  And people would be able to jump off into the water and be much finer than they were in the freezing north seas.

And if the Hindenburg went down over the water even more people would have survived than the 62 who survived versus 36 fatalities in the original disaster.

Would've been a godsend for the zeppelin passengers, really.
