scen..back at lexi's cottage .

Standing on her deck, fumbling with her keys,and door lock, fussing at herself  in forgetting to leave the outside light on, she had visited with tiff,loner and got back later than expected.
Finally working the key,in the lock,the door swings open,she steps in, fliping on the lights,closing and locking the door. sammi, greeted her, rubbing,pushing against her legs,looking up, meowing, as if saying,your late, where you been, i'm starving, Bending and rubbing the little cat's head and ear's...i know  girl,she set's her keyes,on the table purse on the sofa,walking into the kitchen,sammi right behind  ... She, fills the  food bowl for the litle cat, and herself,a glass of ice  water, with twist of lemon. settle on the sofa,clicks on the tv..it's been a long day, she fliped through the channels, settling  on  a movie...it had been a productive  day, and she felt good   about the promotion she   was  up for, in the final two  now
She notices,the book,picks it up fliping tthrough it.s pages, wonder if there are  any spells, for careers and promotions..
Fliping through the pages,  this one looks a little more challenging, she thinks, reading it over and over, should she,continue, would it help?, the other two did,did'ent they? ,or were they both  just a coincedence, probably!,But what were her chances of actually winning a lottery ticket?,Just as much with or without this  hooie,the senseable part of her mind answered,Well,aunt taddie is getting better,right/,?Comeon girl,aunt taddie is betetter,through god's  mercy,and the doctors,at the hospital, probably,  but what can it,hurt,if i do this one more,time?, it may help me get the promotion.
She, set's up a red candle on the mantel and closing her eyes,this is something she has worked hard for, something she want's,something she deserves,she has been in the office longer,she has waited,now is her time. she repeats the chant

she returns to the sofa, watches  her eyes on the candle, as it flickers  ,she feels more confident now that she will win the promotion,the candle slowly flickers out,the last of the night she spends on the computer,then readies,and goes  to bed..

next morning...two days before halloween

Lexi, finishing getting ready, today is the day  she turns in the lottery ticket,  making sure  she has everything  two forms of id,,proof of address, and what else?  oh,my gosh, the LOTTERY TICKET!
walking back into her bed room taking the ticket from the dresser, then walks into the bathroom, checking herself over, then just as  she walks through tthe living room the door buzzer...swings the door open, it's phriday, steping inside letting her in.

THEY CONTINUED ON, LISTENING TO MUSIC  TALKING ABOUT EVERYTHING,AND NOTHING  ARRIVING AT THE ADDRESS,, PHRIDAY  STOPS IN THE PARKING LOT, THE PAIR ENTER THE BUILDING  AND INQUIRE THE LOCATION OF THE SUITE, AFTER A SHORT ELEVATOR RIDE..THEY WALK INTO THE OFFICE, AND THE FRONT DESK AREA..THE RECEPTIONIST TAKES THEIR INFORMATION OFFERS A CONGRATULATIONS,AD ASK THEM TO HAVE A SEAT//A SHORT TIME LATER,  MIDDLE AGE   50ISH  MAN WALKS INTO THE WAITING ROOM AND ESCORTS THEM BACK TO THE OFFICE, THEY CHAT, AND A SHORT TIME LATER, A YOUNGER LADY WALKS INTO THE OFFICE, TURNS OUT SHE IS AN ATORNEY. AND THEY ARE  TOLD THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE STATE LOTTERY,  LEXI HANDS OVER HER ID  THEN DIRECT DEPOSIT..ALL HER INFORMATION TURNED IN AL THAT WAS LEFTADDRESS,AND BANKING INFO, AND OF COURSE THE TICKET. SHE WAS ASKED ABOUT RECIEVEING THETOTAL AMOUT,OR DIVIDE IN PAYMENTS,, SHE CHOOSE FULL AMOUNT,
SHE HAD ALL THE TAXES, WITHDRAWN THEN,AND THERE, ALL THAT WAS LEFT  WAS TO SIGN SOME PAPERS, AND THEY ASKED HER TO DO A COUPLE PROMTIONAL PICTURES TO HELP PROMOTE THE  LOTTERY.  SHE WAS TOLD THE MONEY WOULD BE DEPOSIED IN 24 HOURS, THE SHOOK HANDS AND LEFT THE BUILDING ,THE WHOLE THING TOOK LESS THAN TWO HOURS. BACK IN THE CAR.

CHAPTER 3---  BAD DREAMS..NIGHTMARES, GOOD NEWS.

only 2 days until halloween is there and the aunt allready warned lexi to not mess with voodoo. since lexi seems to be abit silly it is all on sammi to lead her human on the right track now

Sitting  on  a park bench, looking out over the bay, the day had been a good one for lexi, she left  the house early to do some errands, stoping at the bank  and finding that  they lottery  winnings,had been transfered to her account, she begin thinking of places,she would like to go on vacation,next spring, she not really taken a vacation in a couple of years,and hope that the corona virus  would be better by then,maybe they would have a vaccine.Who,,would go with her   phriday?, tiffani?, melissa?. or maybe all 3 if they could work something out.

Maybe, a new car? certainly, in a few weeks she hoped, she had been planing  on a different car anyway,but now may as well go all the way  for a brand new one,
The phone buzzed,and startled her some,it was tiffani.

tiffani, has the hospital called you?

lexi..no,they hav'ent

tiffani,  it's good news,they are going to release  aunt t  today

lexi...that is fantastic,  so are you picking her up

tiffani...no , an aid from the  retirement complex  will,

lexi ....walks back to her car,and notices  the scratch again, yeah it was becoming a huptee, but it was her huptee, fucking bitch  she thought, about brooke,ans she got in and drove  to the office.

hiram...walked along the path,pausing to take a look back,as lexi walked away, damn she is fine, he thought. he felt kind of bad about telling her brooke,had scratched the car,but in a way he did'ent, the small part of their fight he had saw kind of turned him on, he had even had a dream of them fighting again, he knew that talking with brooke,that she would, it's why she scratched the car, why she wanted him to tell lexi..but he was'ent sure about lexi,, she always  seem pretty chill, she did'ent like conflict, but she did have a catty side, and from the look on her face,,he kind of felt she would fight again,  and did'ent think it would take much to happen.

the next stop was the office  she was a little surprised  to hear  the rumors were that she had won the promotion   she was to have a meeting with mr .stiff.... walking to the office, she started to have the feeling, that the rumors were wrong,and they had choosen..dennis....it had happened before,not with her but with other people in the office..

The receptionist lead her into the office, the meeting was shorter than she had expected...mr.stiff was very complimentary  of her prefomance

mr.stiff...  i am pleased to tell you that the board has selected  you for the promotion, we feel you have been a  valueable asset, and will be in the future..congratulations.{smiling}

walking from  mr.stiff's office  back to her office,it dawned on her, jan 20 2021..same day as the new president being sworn in..that thought made her giggle, back  in her office she was surprised to be greeted  with balloons and a cake...

it was starting to get dark  when she arrived   home..sammi of course greeted her...wanting and yowling for her  dinner...she set  what was left of the cake on the island  and got sammi's food out telling  her everything about the day, sammi was  look like she was listening, kind of with the espression, good  but hurry up with my food..

she could'ent wait to get online, and on messanger..to tell,phriday, tiffani,and melissa.. about the day, they were all happy for her,    she  did  some  searches of possable new cars...she would start looking at more in the coming days..and also  at a few possable vacation sites  for the spring,or next summer.

she made herself  a turkey wrap,  and the rest of the evening she watched a little tv and listened  to some music,,,,

Listening, to the t.v.   she begins   looking through  voodoo  for dummies  book again   not really believeing  what   she  did ,had any affect  on recent outcomes,   aunt taddie  could have, probably would have  recovered  ,still  she did'ent start to recover  untill after the spell, she felt that she would deserved,and would have won the promotion, still she knew that it was'ent a sure thing..the lottery ticket, sure  she could have won  anyway, but the fact was  she never had, in all the times  she tried, some of these spells were quiet funny, and made her laugh,especially the love spells,,well i won't need  any of those,i'm irrestable, right sammi,   the little cat,only stretched and yawn reaching out a paw, as if  saying right,then made a cute face, i'm the only one irrestable  around here.
she came to the chapter on revenge  spells....don't really know anyone to cast a revenge spell on, then remebered the scratch on her car, brooke! they had been going back and forth for months, untill it lead up to the fight last week, hiram ,had said brooke admitted to doing it, she did'ent really trust hiram, but why would he lie, then when could she have done it?  anytime,, she could have the day they meet at the college,and lexi had only noticed later, that seemed possable. and she felt for sure brooke had done it

maybe i should get even, what do you think sammi? ,  sammi,looked  at her  with the tip of her tongue stuck out, your right,i should  lexi  answered
she looked through the spells, as  with the others some were simple  seemed quiet dark and forboding sounding, none of those  she thought.
then she found a mirror spell..she already had most of the items, the spel called for some rum..it was getting late  but the store was close, so   she decided to go then,
She did'ent drink herself,but had been in the store a few times with friends, it was late,with few customers,,she had to ask for assistance, finding what she needed
buying a small bottle...then drove  home

she changed into something more comfortable then began setting up her spell, she stretched a towel across the floor..taking the glass from a small frame laying it on the towel
taking the bottle dark rum she poured it over the glass,,,,and waited for it to dry..  putting on some music as she wait    seemed appropiate.

little more than an hour later  the rum had dried..enough...taking some black paint she coated the glass..
then began the chant

she repeats  three times

then using a hammer  shatters the tiny mirror  into seemingly a ga-jillion pieces
bam, crack,whack,,this was fun she thought,folding the shattered mirror on the towel  she then dumps the broken pieces into a can.

she too a sip of the rum,,,eeuugh,,,how do anyone drink this stuff...and pours the rest down a drain

geting ready for bed  she did'ent know if the when,or if the spell would  work,,,,but ohh,it felt pretty good to do it

NEXT,moring brooke walks out to her car to go to work and notices a large scratch on the side of her door!

later in the night lexi has gone to bed,and dozed off ,but it is a restless sleep.she toss  and turns...the scene playing in front of her eyes  .
her and tiffani, tiffani a few steps  infront, she can only see her back.
she can  never seem to catch up,the voices low, she can't make out the conversation. the more they walk  the higher they seem to go.

Lexi  stops, looking around  they are  standing on the iron skeleton of a high rise,the only things  she can see, the bare metal beams all around,they are standing in  the middle of a outer beam. she stops looking down  all she can see as darkness  begins to surround them re the beams disappearing in the darkness  ,she shudders and starts  to wobble  catching her balance, she is terrified of heights,
Tiffani,starts to walk away  ....tiffani   wait   don't leave  me!  she starts to try and walk slowly cross the beam,   tiffani,,wait  help me  she begins to sob...aunt taddie told me what you done, i can't help you  she continues to walk, and seems to vanish past the coner beam.
Tiffani, wait .she tries to move faster   looking down sways a couple time  catching her balance , she makes it to the coner beam  she leans against it,looks around but can no longer see tiffani,,don't leave me  she calls out,looking around, darkness surrounds her   she stays still her arms wraped around the beam   she starts to edge around the beam her right leg stretching out trying to find support under her foot ,she feels the cool metal  and starts to slide around the beam, her foot slips losig her balance  she starts to fall  ,,,,,noooo,,,her body jerks  awake , her eyes wide  scaning around  the bedroom   ,a few minutes and then she realizes it was only a dream,,,she looks at the clock  she had been asleep less than two hours,laying still finally calms down  she is able to doze  again.

She hears a song playing,slowlyopening her eyes, its a little more clear  and seems to be coming from her living room,  she slides from her bed,,her black bra and shorts  cling to her   she has  the urge to go to  the bathroom   she walks through her bedroom door, and thinks she sees sammi run down the hallway to the other room,or maybe it was just a shadow, the music is more clear now,coming from the living room,her stereo ..she walks slowly down the small hallway...in he dimness of the lamp light  she sees a girl with long black hair, her back turned to her dancing and swaying singing along with the song https://youtu.be/pc_F3PaYgl0 ,for some reason it doesen't seem strange, the girl has a accent, she has heard before ,creole she thinks,  turn it down some she whispers, suddenly feelig sick to her stomach she turns and hurries to the bathroom, she  feels faint, and grabs the sink to stay up, she throws up in the sink ,,she leans against it a couple minutes,,then runs water washing the basin out, finding a damp towel she wipes her face...then looks up into the mirror,and gasp seeing the reflection behind her in the door way,, her eyes widen she gasp  and turns,there is no one there...BOOGALOO GIRL! a voice sounds.....she jerks awake  and rolls,  another dream  she lies there trying to catch her breath....looking at the clock    it's only a little past 4 am...something jumps on her bed....aiiiiii..she yelps, but it's  sammi,,  come herebaby she whispers pulling  the purring cat closer...she  feels  safer,more comfortable  her eyes on the open door,  only another dream   and she slowly drifts back to sleep

Feeling safe, and  comfortable  she  fell back to sleep  with sammi snuggled against her,   she was awakend  by  sammi meowing and walking back and forth above her head..wake up  your late  she seem to be saying,,time to eat. looking at the clock it was past 8 am.. ok.i'm  up,  she said,and begin to stir..sammi satisfied her  mission was complete  jumped from the bed and vanished through the door..sliding her feet on the floor, then sliping on a robe...and walks into the bathroom... stoping at the sink before leaving, and  brushing her hair back.. looking at her reflection. she remebered the dream,,it caused her to shudder some,,,if i saw that reflection right now,i'd keel over  she thought..in stead sammi appeared in the doorway. her expression  as if she were thinking your sure taking a long time to use your litter bowl.. hurry up...
she walks through the living room, into the kitchen the cat leading the way, passing by the stereo  she  did not notice one of her records was left out, in the kitchen  she get's sammi's  food,, then makes herself a bowl of cereal..and can't shake a feeling  someone  is watching her,,just my imagination she tells her self...finishing breakfast and putting away the dishes  she goes  to take her shower, the warm water feels good,and  helps her to start feeling more awake,  then clear as a bell, a voice  "mind if i join you'  she gasp,and looks around...thinks she see's a shadow through the shower door..and freezes staring, minutes,  tick by..nothing,she turns the water off  and slowly opens the door, nothing is there,steping from the shower  she slowly walks to the door and peers around it, nothing..she takes a breath,  get a grip  girl,just your imagination, she dries wrapes a towel around her hair,  and body walking into the bedroom and finishes dressing and getting  ready.to go out
Sitting on the couch, she calls tiffani,  they will visit  auntie t in a couple hours.
She  notices  the book laying on the cushion next to her, did'ent remeber leaving it there, picking it up  and kind of absent mindly flips to the last page,she had read  the revenge spell, written across  the pages in red...was. "as done to me,will be done to you,brooke".She gazed at that , then began to wonder,then feel something was wrong...she called  the number   for brooke,, the phone rang and rang, finally hiram answered

She  felt relieved..and kind of silly at the same time....still for some reason just could'ent shake that feeling   her and sammi was'ent alone....thats it she thought,,  sammi jumped on the cushion beside her,looking at the litle cat  she thought they both should  go out for the day...she gathers   some  supplies  for her  girl,,and puts sammi in the pet carrier..the first stop  the park .

scene  the town park,,midmorning,,

It was just past 11 am  when they arrived at the park,although it was the final day's of october, the cool morning was giving way to a warm spring like day,at the park  lexi fished the litle cat from the carrier..attaching the her lease,then carried her, to the walking track,with a carry bag over her shoulder..

It had been several month's since the last time she had  sammi out, and the cat was'ent much interested at first, but her curoisity got the best of her,and soon sammi was straining the lease leading the way. they recieved  alot of attention from other people stoping to talk a few times.,then come to a picnic table   and stop for a rest,,she sits the little cat on the table,,,then taking a baggie  of meow mix from her tote  sitting some out on the table...lexi took out a bottle of water while watching her cat.

a squirrel climbed up  to the table top,surprising them  both, it's bright eyes  fixed on the pile of food,it's tail twitched,it's nosed wiggled  trying to decide if it should make a try for it
lexi pushed a few pieces closer...sammi won't mind sharing she smiled smiling..the squirrel twitched it's tail took the food,and darted off the table. the bad dreams begin to fade from her mind,she felt kind of silly.

they took another stroll around the walk way,then back to the car, working sammi,back into the carrier, next  stop  tiffani"s  she said out loud...the little cat protested over being in the carrier,as they began to drive away, but soon setltled down and  dozed off for the rest of the  way.

They arrived at tiffani  another 30 -  40 minutes  later..  they cat the little cat settled away in the spare bathroom.. lexi  would just spend the night after the  visit from aunt taddies

lexi...have you talk with auntie t  today?

tiffani, no not today, but yesterday, told  her we would  come for a short visit

lexi   how did she sound

tiffani...pretty good, she still has a cough, and sound a little horse, do you have  a mask

tiffani,,,that's ok i have some extra's, they finished getting ready then left, taking i-10  it would take less than an hour this time
on the way they talked,making plans for  halloween,and the upcoming holidays..plans for thanksgiving,and christmas., neither really had any yet
arriving at the senior home  they set in the parking lot sliping on their mask before walking in .

the nurse and her assistant are there. aunt taddie is in her bed room just finishing with a breathing treatment with her nurse

tiffani..how is she doing

assistant...she is doing well, her vitals have been good,and her oxygen levels also

lexi....how often does she take those

nurse..   twice a day

tiffani.....how often are ya'll here

nurse.....three times a day, and she has the call button  on the necklace should she feel  like she needs help, the doctor  will check on her once a day also ,the breathing treatment finishes and the nurse removes the mask, how you doing miss.malone/, feeling alright?

taddie....nods, and in a horse voice  says yes

tiffani...has she improved   any since  coming back

assistant...yes we feel that she has been approving,, the doctor feels good about how she is doing since last night, are ya;ll the daughters?

lexi,,,nieces,,she never had any chiildern

assistant    awww.

nurse.... her  terperature is stable,,, her vitals  are good  she is improving

the nurse and assistant start getting ready to leave, miis malone  if you need anyone ,just push that button   ok, and some one  will bring your lunch in just a few minutes

taddie   nod's   ,yes dear

nurse...you know,it's not recommeneded you stay   for more than a few minutes, and keep your distance and only one at a time, ok

nurse....we think it's  good, from our records she has shown vast improvements, it's just going to take  some time

a few minutes later tiffani returns   she seems upbeat   she sounds  good,and looks  good
 lexi walks into the room  .

lexi...well i had the nightmares last night,  and felt uneasy  before i left home..like i was'ent alone

scene....lexi  and tiffani had left  their aunt taddie sitting inside the car  in the parking lot.

tiffani...well,looks like  aunt t, is on the way back to recovery.

lexi..  yeah it does, she sound  and looked stronger than i thought,[in a way she hoped,that she had something to do with that}

tiffani...{turning onto the road,from the parking lot}. i know  a nice  family style restraunt, not far from here, want to stop and have some dinner before heading back?

They drive into the restraunt,  sally's southern cooking   and  walk inside....luckily  it was  sparse  and so they were lead to a table  and seated, the customers  seated and spaced  , the waitress handed the menus.. they ordered their  drinks  both took sweet tea...a few minutes later  the drinks were brought

scene  a car stops and parks  in the  lot of the apartment complex
two people tiffani and lexi,walk across the grounds, to the  apartment,the evening air bringing a little chill,inside they settle down.

tiffani.. it's a little cool, she set's the heat, and turns the theromostat up,seconds later it kicks on,,warm the place up in just a jiffy

lexi   giggles remebering a nickname   every,most everyone  had  for her  jiffytiffy,

Seconds later  sammi scoots through the room,tail in air, rubbing against everything,, demanding her dinner....

lexi... sits  back on the sofa  flips on the tv, tiffany joins her with the coke and a few snack crackers  they find a movie  to watch remeber and talk about growing up,remebering some of their sister spats, which were quiet a few, cept for some lost hair neither were really hurt ,most of them ended up with them either crying and hugging,or  laughing  and hugging,starting getting late, and they got ready for bed...lexi decided to just wait  to check out any voo doo hex spells untll later,,she was'ent sure how much of that to believe anyway,auntie t could tell some good halloween stories back in the day.

THE SCENE...B ack,at her house/cottage..it's like watching herself from the back through someone else's eyes  as she moves around, from laundry room, to kitchen  ,and living room, a record is playing,it's one of her favorite  songs   soft,instrumental,pianohttps,sammi,looks up from the sofa  as she walks by, to the bathroom door, someone is there,her backed turned to lexi, strange that she can only see her reflectionin the mirror,  the person half turns, her eyes widen, it's herself, her face covered in a  mask, like that of a voo doo priestess, she thought,the figure   face forms a hideous  smile
Lexi,jerks awake,, another  bad dream, she sets up a moment catching her breath... then looks out the window, someone is standing  the shadows,looking toward her window it walks close enough  to be under the street lamps, she gasp, at what she sees,and looks away,then looks again,the figure is gone.

She hears  auntie t's voice, you will have,a hex away spell tp protect your self from the negative energies,,no need to wait further,she get's up, turns on her computer and begins a search.

   Lexi, looks through several  threads  and stories  about voo doo,it's origins...pretty interesting she thinks, wonder what the real difference  is between it  and witchcraft,maybe some time she would do more research, but for now  she wanted to find something, to heelp get herself out of this apparant pickle  she got herself into..page after page  of voodoo spells, then she finally finds a couple,that look  simple enough, hope that one of them would work..she copies down a  couple  the material she would need.she started feeling sleepy, shut down the cmputer   and went back to bed,she was able to fall asleep pretty quickly...if they were any other dreams  she did'ent wake up .

Next morning  she wakes up  to the smell of breakfast cooking, she stretches  and yawns, rolling out of bed...a trip to the bathroom. and then into the kitchen..

may as well get ready  to leave to  she says to sammi, the emptiness of the apartment felt strange..she remebered the dreams,, it gave her a shudder,  she takes her shower  and dresses, gathers her bags  takes them to her car, the morning still cool butt warming up..back inside  gathers  sammi's things  and put's the protesting little cat back in the carrier..looking around  think i have everything,walks out locking the door. looking at the street lamp  from last the night before,, a little dread crept into her, she had  a couple  steps to make...she only hoped things would work out.

scene  mid morning   sunny and warm day for time of year..

Lexi, driving around, there are a few more stops than she expected  in finding all the items, she  would need,  sammi for the most part had settled  down for a nap during the adventure,cept for the times she was jostled  awake,, when they went into a store.. they were just two items  needed...pure  water, where was she going to find that then remebered  the spring near her home..and was able to take sammi for a short walk.
that would be about as pure as she would find, she filled two bottles,more than enough for what she would need, then the final stop,,cemetary dirt,this one she dreaded,she drove out of town a few miles  to an old rural cemetary with a country church, she had been there a few times,,some family were laid to rest there, she took out a wal-mart bag,then a  small garden digger from the trunk of her car..walking through the cemetary, they were a couple  new burials, she thought of takin some from those,then decided  not to,{and that was probably a good thing she did not}

she found an area just on the edge that looked like it would be easy to dig, the thought occured of what she would say if anyone saw her,{"umm,well you see, i need some cemetary dirt as part of a voo doo spell to ward off evil spirits,yeah that would get her  hauled away quick enough}...anyway  she dug about half a bag,that should be enough she thought, went back to the car,and drove home.

back at ome,inside,,,things felt comfortable.. sammi just happy to be out of the carrier scooted for her hiding place..only minutes later to return.letting her know how hungry she was
giving sammy some food then settling down and relaxing watching some tv..yes things felt very comfortable...after dinner...she found a large glass bowl she added  two cups of water, black ink,5 peppercorns, and almost half a bottle of vodka, then added in the cemetary dirt,,using herfingers  setting up and lihting a red candle,using  her fingers  she mixed the ingrediants togeather

then carries the mixture  through her front door she spills and splashes the  goo around her walk way and near her car, then over her deck,repeating the chant, then around her house to the back  repeating as she spread  the mixture...she rinses the bowl with the out side hydrant, and walks inside.. taking the remaining spring water and set it by the candle

she then again notices  the voo doo book,{you must get rid of it   she remebered auntie t's voice..putting the book in a bag,then walking the short distance to the gas startion to it's dumpster,
she tries to toss it,in, it's short hitting the rim and bouncing back,, shit  she thinks,then picks it up trying again,this time it's sails over the front and lands with a thump  inside..she waits a few  before walking back home...has some dinner .

The rest of the evening  drifts  by, lexi  finishes up  some class work online,  and spends time on you tube..watching videos, the candle still burns...on the mantle...she feels  more comforable  still the dreams,or were they  cling to mer memory..every little creak, or sound causes her to jump.

She talk with phriday over the phone, they would  go togeather  to the barn halloween party...

phriday...and after that we can go back to her place

she also talked with melissa...they would catch up with each other

tiff. sent a text..that  yes  she would still be there

should be fun lexi i thought, she had not gone to that event in a few years, and was'ent sure that it would be open cause of covid..

rest of the night was spent,playing with sammi,and watching an old halloween movie, and then to bed. a short time later  sammi the cat joined her  snuggling close,they fell asleep.

THE SCENE  BRIGHT SUNNY DAY, WARM..LEXI IS IN HER FRONT YARD,WORKING WITH SOME FLOWERS HER HEAD DOWN, SHE  IS SETTING SOME BUDS,WHEN A VOICE STARTLES HER....HELLO, MON AMEE.

lexi  looks up,,seeing an older man  standing in front of her, an older  black man, probably in his 80's ,his clothes were kind of ragged,and he wore an old style top hat,partially shading his friendly face and carried a cane, a dog emerged  from behind him..and snifed the grass,, where had he came from, she had not seen anyone minutes before near.his speech was a strange accent

old man...sorry to have startled you miss,  jus taking a little walk with my dog, he looks around  it's a beautiful day  bondye bon {god is good}  and smiles

lexi  { smiles}  yes  it is a beautiful day, i'm lexi  are you from the  neighbor hood

old man..they call me papa legba...and i live near by

lexi   thought it odd,that she had not seen him  before, it was  a hot day   she offered him a bottle of water, this  comes from a  small stream near here handing it to him

old man {papa legba}  yes,iv'e been there before many times  drinks the water  slowly,  and  holds some water in his hand offering his dog a drink laughing nothing is as good as pure water from the earth.

THEY WALK TO A SHADE LEXI BEGINS FEELING A LITTLE MORE COMFORTABLE AS THEY  TALKED

lexi... notices he seems to have a bad limp. she bends picking up another bottle to offer  him, hey you may take this with you=uuu..she begins, but he is no where around.

SHE WAKES,THE NEXT MORNING, THE LIGHT STREAMS THROUGH HER HER WINDOW...SAMMI BOUNCES UP ON HER BED,, LEXI PLAYING A JOKE COVERS HER HEAD TRYING TO HIDE
MEWO SAMMI TRAMPLES OVER HER , LEXI GIGGLES.. MEOW      THE CAT CATCHES THE SHEET WITH HER PAWS TRYING UL IT AWAY, MEOW,,, LEXI HOLDS IT TIGHT, MEOW   THE CAT PULLS HARDER PULLING THE SHEET BACK..

LEXI  giggling   your  so spoiled...and funny... sitting up picking he cat up hugging her   she  feels much safer and better  ..

SCENE  HALLOWEEN MORNING,,,

She  showers  and changes,and walks  down the hallway,  she pauses at the mantle,and notice that the bottle of water, she left is empty,  she smiles,,for the first time in a couple days  she feels safe.Walking into the kitchen, stumbling over  sammi, don't get under my feet   shhho shooo,  she fills the cat bowl first,,,then her self  a breakfast sandwich..walks into the living  room and turns on the tv.. her phone  buzzes,,it's from phriday.

T he rest of the day  is spent   doing some follow up work for the office, and listening to some music...then dust and clean away the mantle....
she went out for a short walk to enjoy the nice  day, she frowned at the muck on the deck,steps and walk way. she thought of washing it away, then remebered the spell has said  to let it stay
she may even  have to preform the same thing when it fades away.,so long as it keeps any bad spirits  out she thought.

back inside...and back online...she got a notification from someone, it was hiram...
